Mountain Horse Richmond Ladies Field Boot is rated 4.4583 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE these boots!!! I bought my first pair of these boots back in 2010 and have ridden in them a lot for those 4 years, when the zippers needed to be replaced i bought another pair then had the zippers replaced as well, so now i have 2 pairs! I love the cut of the boots, they look like custom boots and i have had many great comments about them. i love the way the ankle is slimming but not too tight. They were pretty easy to get them to drop down and break in. I highly recommend these boots. I am an eventer so they take a beating but they still look great and wear amazing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful - didn't work for me Prior to trying on a slew of boots, I thought for sure these would be the ones. Proper measuring is key, but SmartPak's return policy is wonderful.Unfortunately, my 16 1/4 inch calves fell in between calf sizes. The largest calf was too big, I could fit my hand down into the boot and they were very wide at the knee (ie they were sort of cone shaped instead of tapering back up at the knee). I didn't even try the next size down because of the size chart. They are beautiful boots though and they look very durable (although I didn't keep them so I can't vouch for durability). The leather is very stiff compared with the Tredstep Donatellos and the Ariat Heritage Contour (I kept the Ariats). The one downside for me that may not be an issue for others is the footbed felt very clunky. That may be due to the stiff leather and that may go away over time so don't let it deter you. I think a lot of folks really like this boot and I can see why, they just didn't work for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice quality but no spur rest. These boots are well made and seem like they will last a long time. However, I was quite surprised by the fact they did not feature spur rests (not visible on stock photo.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great boot but... After replacing half chaps every year and needing new paddock boots now, I decided this year to switch to tall boots for schooling. My trainer tried these and loves them so I ordered a pair for myself. I have the MH Supreme High Riders for shows and love them, so I ordered the same size in the Richmond (7 regular). Unfortunately, I was swimming in the foot and the calf height was a smidge too short. Because of the limited sizing available, I could not size down (the 6 does not come in a tall calf and the regular calf was going to be way too short). I know I have small feet for my height, but the Supremes fit great with heel lifts so I assumed the Richmond sizing would be comparable. I ended up with a pair of Tredstep Donatellos which I love and they come in a wider range of sizes. The only reason for my 4 star rating instead of 5 is the lack of available sizes. The leather quality is great and looks like it will hold up well and it is a nice looking boot. Be advised that the foot runs large when ordering.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great starter boot This is my first pair of Field Boots and I am very pleased so far. Only had them a few weeks. Had trouble finding a wide enough calf to go with my short legs and these are working out just right. Very supple leather. No blisters so far! I wear a 7.5 in shoes and other types of boots. I ordered a 7 in these and they have plenty of space for a thicker sock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lovely boot for a great price I've had these boots for a couple weeks and they're doing great! I've only worn them a few times so far but they're breaking in nicely and starting to drop. I still need them to drop about a half inch but it looks like they will. The zippers and elastic were a bit stiff to begin with but they get easier to deal with each time I wear them, so I think it's just a matter of waiting for them to break in properly. Some reviewers have said they've had trouble with the soles if they don't have the stirrup pads that go with them, but I haven't had a problem with them at all (and I just have regular stirrup pads). Overall, these are attractive boots for a great price and I'm very satisfied with them. They seem to be well made and the leather quality is good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice boot but zippers an issue I bought these boots two years ago after a search for a wide calf boot. They look lovely and fit well but I had an immediate issue with one of the zippers not wanting to stay up. The other zipper blew out after 2 years of fairly light use. A good option for wide calves, but I was so disappointed they didn't last longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful boots So I was in love with these boots for quite awhile before ordering. I was SO excited when they arrived! They were stunning, and the leather quality is high. A very attractive boot with an awesome sole.Bad news? They didn't fit. =( They are super slim through the area right above the ankle, and even though I fit the measurements, they wouldn't even zip. Even if they had, they would have been too short, and the Longs would have been way too small on my calves. I'm still giving them a good rating because they were absolutely beautiful!
