best clippers ever!
Ive had these for years. my mare has 3 inches thick fur coming out of winter and this busts through like butter I do not bathe her first, just brush hair really well first then I do a trace clip so she can expel heat ( she does not have cushings) but she is 30 and I like to keep her comfortable in our stupid hot cold days of march. she doesn't shed out fast enough in her old age.

What I wish I knew
I got these a few weeks ago to use alongside my Oster Clipmasters that I have had for years but are on their last leg. I was hoping for a quieter clipper that could still do the full body clip and was a little more maneuverable for face and legs. For the cost I would recommend a new pair of Osters (sorry Lister, I REALLY wanted to like these clippers). These are JUST as loud but do not clip as well as my Osters. I had 2 horses to clip. The first I did with my older Osters, the blades were not brand new, I had already done 3 full clips with them. The clip came out great. Then I did the second horse with my brand new Listers with brand new blades. The clippers left lines and just did not give a good clip. I was really bummed out. Took me twice as long to try and get a clean clip. One pro - they were easier to maneuver over legs and face and they don't have the hair blow back into your face that you get with the Osters (if you have clipped with clip masters you know what I am talking about). Anyway, the clippers do the job and I will keep them but they were not the clippers I was hoping they would be, they are just as loud and simply did not clip the body as well as my Oster clippers.

Clips through Everything!
I bought these from another supplier and totally love them! I used to use a smaller clipper and would wash my horse who has cushings the day of clipping - it took forever for her to dry then forever to clip! Once I bought these, I just brush her off and they clip through all the hair and dirt super fast. What took a whole day (or 2) now takes a couple of hours. These do get hot but I just brush the blades off and oil them every 5 minutes as recommended by the manufacturer.
