Rated 5 out of 5 by SmartPaker Carly from Uncomplicated Bit I use this bit for my Morgan mare who can be a bit opinionated and fussy when it comes to bits. The more simple the bit, the better for her. I tried this bit on a whim and wish I tried it first! There has been no signs of head fidgeting from her and has been so much softer and collected since we started using it. I have used this bit for years, always rinse it with warm water after our rides and it has help up very nicely. I use the 4 3/4 for my horse who is typically a cob in bridles and halters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Summer from Summer I purchased this bit originally for my Paint mare. She doesn't like a regular snaffle, but goes well in the French link bit. I recently purchased a gelding for trail riding. He just shook his head for the first 4 bits we tried on him. When we put the French link bit on him he was happy and hasn't shook his head since. I have since purchased another French link bit so I don't have to change bits between my western headstall and English headstall. Both horses have very light mouths and don't need any more bit than this one.

When i bought this, I was hoping for a bit that has just enough leverage to really get the point across without ripping their mouths out. This bit has done just that. Every horse i have used this bit on, has loved it. Ive used it on everything from colts to my reining cowhorse. This bit is the real deal, and easily can be used on horses and riders of all levels.

My horse loves the french link and mobility of the bit and that it doesn't pinch; he hates the nutcracker action of snaffles (and lets everyone know) so this has been fantastic. I love that my horse is much happier, that the bit looks as good now as it did when I bought it, and that there is a 4 3/4" option for his slightly smaller mouth.
