Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was an awesome bit that gave me a little extra help when my horse gets strong on cross country!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but runs 1/4" small My horse seems to like this bit, but it runs very small. It doesn't seem to rub so far. Gives rider a small amount of leverage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good bit for strong jumper Our off-the-track young thoroughbred gets very strong over fences and sometimes thinks he's in a race when there are lots of horses flatting in the ring. He gets too excited in the pelham bit, but this one slows him down without driving him crazy. And if he's being good, we can change the reins to the larger opening and use it as a loose ring snaffle. We did end up buying bit guards though, we think the bit might pinch his cheeks a little without them. All in all, it's a nice quality, well priced bit that works as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice bit, a little too harsh for me This wasn't the right bit for my horse; it felt like a weapon in my hands! But that's not the bit's fault. I wish I had paid more attention to the thickness of the bit itself; I really should have ordered something fatter because it's just a little too harsh for me. It seems quite well-made, particularly given he low price, but I only used it half a dozen times. My trainer wasn't thrilled either with it; my horse tends to get above the bit and she thought he really didn't take a feel of this one. My daughter works for a jumper barn in CA and no one there was willing to loan me theirs to try because they love this bit so much! But theirs too are not quite so razor-thin. I love that there are so many different ways you can attach reins/head stall to play with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic bit! This bit works so well on my very frisky jumper, I love that I can easily switch it from softer or harsher by using or not using the lower rein slot. Highly recommend everyone to try this if you have a horse with a little too much go.
