Why We Love This
Keratex Hoof Hardener strengthens weak, worn and cracked hooves by improving the molecular structure of the horn itself. The gentle acting chemical formulation forms additional intermolecular bonds between molecules of keratin through the process of cross-linking, producing a tougher, stronger horn structure. Keratin is the main protein constituent of horn and is best described as the building block of the horn structure.
Apply to lower half of hoof and sole, avoiding coronary band and frog. Use daily for one week then twice weekly for general hoof maintenance. If the hoof has been treated with any oils or greases over the past three months, degrease the hoof thoroughly with acetone before applying Keratex Hoof Hardener. Do not use any oils or greases while using Keratex Hoof Hardener.

This is my 3rd bottle purchased. I gave my last one to a client whose andulusian was having tender feet from fly stomping. We had been abnormally warm/wet for a MN winter, so I ordered this to help out with the horses feet as they are subjected to wet/dry shifts.

Great product!
I️ quit using the hoof hardener for at least 6 months and I️ won’t do that again. My horses hooves became a lot softer and was noticeably ouchy on trail rides with stones and gravel. On my 2nd bottle and I️ notice a huge improvement.

Great Product
My horse has really bad feet, we have been using supplements and biotin to help grow them faster and stronger, a friend of mine suggested this product to me, she says it the best, so far we have been using it for 2 weeks and he feet look better and stronger, its only been a little while but i thin this product will be very good for my horse.

Long crack
My guy had a long cracks in his front hooves, I tried so many things all to no avail. I started him on Keratex on a friends recommendation and wow. In just 3 months we have gained really nice strong hard hooves and the new growth looks wonderful.

Keratex Hoof Hardener
My husband has been using this product on two of our horses. We have tried many other hoof builders over the years but none have performed as well as Keratex. One mare has "teacup" hooves that are "shelly" and would not hold a shoe. Problem was resolved with Keratex. Our gelding has thin walls and Keratex insures that he holds his shoes between appointments with our Farrier. We started using it daily and now only apply it twice a week and we would not use anything else. Thank you Keratex!

Amazing Results!
I have an OTTB that has constantly had hoof issues since I adopted him. His soles are incredibly soft and thin. Abscesses, bruises, more abscesses, etc. I found Keratex while searching possible options and decided to try it based off of the reviews. I could not be happier I did. My horse threw a shoe about 9 days after I started treatment. Normally, this would result in some degree of lameness (and probably an abscess) but he remained totally sound and rideable. One last test remains: we're headed into winter which means tons of rain. Fingers crossed Keratex continues to work as well as it has! The bottle is a bit expensive, however, it lasts a long time if you're only using it on one horse. I've maybe used half in the last few months, if that.

Does what it says'
I bought this after an extremely wet summer and everyone was having issues with delamination and soft feet. Used as directed for 3 weeks before they were due for farrier. He noticed how much better their feet looked and asked what I was using and told me to keep it up! That was all the proof I needed that it definitely works!

Very Effective
I bought this about a month ago, and used as directed on my horse's hooves - once a day for a week then twice a week after that. His hooves had been rapidly declining (cracking, chipping, and he lost a shoe) in the crazy New England summer weather, so I figured I'd give this a try. After the first week his hooves did not decline further, and now they're starting to look better. I'm so pleased with the fast, effective results!

good stuff
I have an elderly horse with soft soles who was having trouble standing and walking, especially on stoney areas.
I used this and it really seems to have helped enormously. Also, it seems like it will last for quite awhile, although I am applying it every other day.
I have not tried other hoof hardening products, so don't know how it compares to other similar products.

Slight improvement so far
I've only used it for 2 weeks now. Week 1 daily use and week 2 2x per instructions. My senior OTTB has very thin soles and this is my last resort to harden his feet before putting front shoes back on him. Hoping this stuff will help strengthen his hooves (in addition to the hoof supplement I already have him on) so that if we bo back to shoes they will help keep them on longer.

Seems to help!
I've been using it for the 1 week everyday, and 2 weeks of the twice a week. So far her whiteline hoof issue looks not as,separated and the wall near whitelije seems harder &more resilient. 3 more weeks til the farrier trims her again, that will be the defining time! Hoping he will be pleased with the results!

Great Product!
Love this stuff! You have to really use it exactly as the directions state, every day for about the first week then about twice a week thereafter. My Appendix has been suffering from weak soles and constant bruising since we moved to this area. I started using this instead on the Keratex Hoof Gel and it did exactly as it stated! Have been using it consistently on 3 horses for 3 months now and have not one complaint!

Great product that does what it says it will do!
I have used other hoof products over the years-- mainly just because it made me feel like I was doing something. This is the first product that I can say without a doubt does what it says it will do-- harden the feet. Within 1-2 weeks of every other day application there is a noticeable difference in my horse's hooves. She had great feet to begin with, but this is a great product that I will continue to use to help support her.

This product really works to help maintain our horses hooves. We have some that chip easily and we don't like to put shoes on them. This product helps us to allow our horses to go barefoot, even during the show season.

Actually works!!!
After years of working in corporate marketing, I am very sceptic of product claims. But this one is spot on right. Bought this for my two mares (one is shoeless, the other has shoes on front only) who had a super rough summer hoof wise. Lots of cracks & chips coupled with a farrier who failed to show and their hooves had eight weeks of havoc. Started using this product right after farrier session and within three days of daily application, it was astonishing how fantastic the hooves looked. My barefoot palomino moves with ease over gravel now, whereas before she has always been very ouchy. It is now almost three weeks after farrier session and their hooves look perfect. Nary a chip and small cracks have disappeared! Phenomenal product!!!

It really works
I've used this in the past and started again after my horse got an abscess and I was having trouble keeping boots on so wanted to toughen up his soles so he could go bootless without worries. It definitely promotes sole retention, has prevented him getting his usual mechanically induced white line cracks and has the added benefit of making his feet less likely to hold onto manure
