Beautifully made but a poor fit
Smart pak photo doesn’t show that this pad has relatively little curve and rests on my guy’s withers. It is also longer than my Sedelogic pad which I much prefer. The is probably related to the one size fits all saddles, Because the invictus is rather firm it makes the saddle fit snug if you don’t have room to spare and it also lacks cutouts for big shoulders. Not a fan and returned this pad thanks to SmartPak

I love how this pad protects my horses back yet doesn’t take up much room under his well fitting saddles. I also like that the front is a little bit longer so it fits well under my dressage saddle, as well as fitting under my jump saddle. However, the light grey piping has started to unravel from the back. I stopped it unraveling with a dab of glue from a glue gun but it doesn’t look nice any longer for showing. I have not used it all that much yet either as I only use it when my horse gets back sore. This pad was expensive enough that I expected it to hold up better.

wanted to love it
I loved everything about this pad other than it was not wide enough for the panels on my saddle.

Perfect for my needs!
My warmblood youngster has so much movement through his back that we had some trouble getting to the right combination of saddle, pad and girth to keep the saddle from bouncing. This Invictus pad was the key. It fits perfectly under my 17.5" dressage saddle (and seems to me to be cut to fit better under a dressage saddle than a jump saddle) and absorbs his back movement without making the saddle bounce. I've had it about a month, so can't say much about durability yet but it shows no signs of wear so I'm optimistic.

Sizing is Off
I have to say Smartpak has the best price on this pad by far. Unfortunately, this pad did NOT fit under my 18" saddle, which doesn't even have very forward flaps. It's a beautiful pad and seems very well made, but they need to either make more sizes, or change their size description. I would be surprised if this would even fit under a 17.5" saddle.
