Loved these at first, but ice packs break
The fit is GREAT. Wraps my horse's legs perfectly and cools everything very efficiently besides the dorsal cannon bone (which doesn't necessarily need cooling). A few ice packs broke (small leaks) after the 3rd use. The replacement packs are pretty expensive. As much as I love the fit, I will be trying other boots to find a more durable product or finding therapeutic ice packs for cheaper.

Regret this purchase
I am a very experienced amateur and did have to apply these twice to get the hang of it, but my mare HATES these and kicks incessantly with them, they are bulky for her to wear. After one use they are of course filthy from her stomping, wall kicking tantrum so I can't return them. I actually got two sets and both sets came brand new with leaky gel packs I'm sending the one set I didn't use back and wish I had done more research before buying My friend owns another brand with the pack built in and hers are way nicer, more user friendly and they don't inspire kicking at a much more affordable price point. The one pro I can say is that they did remain cold for some time so I drove 20 minutes to the barn and worked my horse and they were half frozen still( I kept the packs in an insulated lunch box) which made application easier than solid frozen as they melded to her leg better. Overall do your research and try to borrow some from a friend or trainer if possible before buying your own.

Great product but takes technique
I’ve been using the wraps after almost every ride and they really help! Give a nice even icing and my horse does not mind them at all. However, it did take 5-6 applications to get the hang of it and stop having warm spots on his legs. After practice I no longer have any warm spots and find them easy to use. The ice horse instructions are very accurate and need to be followed exactly for best result. Make sure to break up the ice packs really well and strap them on tightly to a damp leg. I found pushing the ice to the center of each pack helps, as well as squishing them into the leg from the outside after application. Wraps stay on well enough to wear loose in stall but will slip down with too much walking.

Mixed feelings
I bought these wraps in March and have used them every day on a pretty severe tendon injury. First off good quality and great customer service! I really appreciate company being a small American factory. The ice packs are wonderful for a few uses, soft like snow but very quickly turn into hard rocks and need replaced. The ice packs velcro to the inside of the boot. The Velcro is awful! Ice packs fall off the boot before the boot is applied to the leg. Very frustrating. I also find is much more beneficial if the leg is wet when you apply the boots. Icing the leg dry leaves many warm spots. Using these boots is much better than cold hosing I would love to see some improvement in the ice packs.

Fantastic Ice Boots
Using the boots for an injured hind leg. In one week saw an improvement. Will be buying 2 more just to have.

Did not use these from
Nice boots, but I returned them.
I returned this item without using them. From what I saw of them, they are good quality, maybe a little difficult to use, but a well informed trainer uses these and thinks they are wonderful.

Simple product, great coverage.
I'm very happy with the product. It took me a couple of times to put it on correctly, but I figured it out. I do wish it had one larger ice pack, rather than two smaller ones, but overall, it does its job. A couple of my ice packs were leaking upon arrival, but SmartPak sent out replacements super quickly.

Great product!
I purchased this wrap for treatment of my horse for suspensory ligament injury. At first it was a bit cumbersome to apply, but within a short time, it became much easier. Ice packs are soft and mold to the limb, stay cold for several hours, and although become harder with repeated freeze/thaw cycles, more can be purchased separately when needed. Instructions provided with the wrap are excellent and accurate. There is minimal slippage of the wrap once applied to the limb.

Great Wraps but...
I recently bought these wraps from SmartPak and they are great! They fit my horse well and are easy to use, but when they arrived, two out of the four ice packs had wholes in them, which makes them not usable. I tried to email SmartPak about this issue and I have not heard a response. I would like 2 new pairs so I can actually use the wraps for my horse. Thank you!

Very nice product
My trainer requested that I purchase this for my young horse that is in training. It works great. Wish this could come in a smaller size for a younger horse. But I am also thinking that it must feel good to him as well after his work outs.
