I’ve been using this product for 7 years
I bought new wood stalls seven years ago I noticed some of the horses wanted to chew on them. We tried multiple products but Cribox is the one product they will not chew and scrape. 12 horses and none mess with it. Application with trial and error but after finding a thin flexible scraper or credit card to dig into the bottle then spread a thin layer over areas it has become an easy to use product. Before I tried things like sticking my fingers in with gloves but the gloves always got ripped on splintered wood. A word of caution spread it thin or it will end up like gooey wax in tail and mane.

Only stuff that works
I use this stuff on walls, lead ropes, and even manes and tails of broodmares who’s babies eat their manes and tails. They won’t touch this stuff. You need gloves to apply, but it wouldn’t work as well, if it wasn’t so thick and sticky

Works Okay, Smells Terrible!
Works on one of our cribbers but not the other. The smell is terrible which is a good thing! It is like a thick paste you spread on. It does need reapplied over time especially on areas that face the elements. Also, does not dry so will get on the horses coat which is not easy to remove. Would recommend because cribbers are difficult and anything that helps is a good thing!

Best available
IK've used Cribbox since creosote became hard to get and had warnings I could not ignore. It is difficult to use because of the consistency but on a hot day it does fairly well. In cold weather it is hard to spread. When the horse has crewed and there are spliters if is hard to use. however, there is nothing I know of that is better.

I was so hopeful this would help curb the cribbing habit based on the reviews, but no luck for us. I smeared it all over the stall door - horse smelled the paste and immediately walked away - yay! Came back the next day and it was ALL OVER the front of him. The complaints about how difficult it is to clean off seem a bit overstated, a wet microfiber cloth wiped it off without much effort at all, but I did have to do it three days in a row which brings me to the next problem. This product simply does not hold up in the Texas heat and after 3-4 days it was completely melted and gone. Three stars because it did seem to turn the horse off temporarily and perhaps in cooler weather is worth another shot, but will continue to use the DARE collar with success until then.

Working on test site.
I have only applied this to a small section of fencing. Testing it out before I purchase an additional supply for all the fencing. The product has been on the test boarding for a week now and, so far, appears to be keeping my wood chewer at bay. It is not the easiest product to apply, but, if it works - great!

This stuff works!
My cribber is totally deterred by this stuff. It’s very thick and a little hard to work with but it stays in place. I have only had to reapply once in two months. Better than sprays that need frequent reapplication and drip down surfaces, and kinder than collars. I’m a believer.

Works great
This is the only product I’ve found that stops my cribber.

Be careful, caused bad reaction
I put this in my horses stall door, two days later his neck had completely broken out, lost all the hair and was very, very swollen
