Poor fit
Just purchased these and was excited when I felt the fabric. The finish is slick and would have been easy to brush off around the barn. However, when I finished pulling them out of the packaging I could immediately tell that the legs had something wrong with them. The calves were huge! I can't find dress boots to fit my calves without going custom and these fit like sweat pants. They were also way too long, which I expected them to be a touch long based on previous reviews, but I would have to top 6 foot to be close to the height needed to fill these. I'm really sorry to have to return these because the quality of the fabric seemed so good, but at least Smartpak has a good return system.

Calves were HUGE
I ordered these because we can all use an additional pair of winter riding breeches. I'm a size 24 and they fit very well from the knees up, however, the calves on these are absolutely huge. My calves are about average size and no number of fuzzy socks would make these fit. The material is good quality and I'm sure they're super warm, but I wouldn't be able to use them with my regular riding boots or even my bogs. For that reason, I returned them.

Comfortable
I bought these for a riding trip to Iceland this summer and have now been wearing them on my non-tolting horse. These breeches are very comfortable. Bit big around the waist for me, but I have a smaller waist and larger hips so had to size up, it would be expected. But really enjoy them and they keep me warm. Since these are being discontinued I will need to look for another similar product in the future. I don't ride daily so am not sure how they will hold up long term, but they haven't given me any indication of wear and tear yet.

Favorite winter breech
Thick enough for warmth and no "lines". Silicone is just right, it dries out quickly if you get a little sweaty. Lands at my waist just right without digging in or too loose. Normally wear a 28, and the 26 fits perfect. Outside is slick and repels water, dog hair etc. I hope to buy a pair every year. I'm 5'4" and find them a little long, but it doesn't bother me in my boots.

I really wanted to love these...
I really wanted to love these pants, as they have a ton of really nice features. I liked the high waisted cut, the fleece/smooth outer fabric had warmth that felt on par or better than my carrot-brand full seats, loved that they had pockets that actually could hold useful items. The fit was a bit generous, but I appreciated that as I do end up lining all breeches with long underwear before the end of winter, as I ride outside in MN year round. Unfortunately, the silicone on these breeches was just not sticky enough for me. I'm not sure if it was a combination of the smooth fabric and the silicone or just a commentary on my dependence on heavy duty grip (I wear knit pipers whenever possible, full seat), but I felt super insecure in these breeches compared to how I normally feel; like I would lose grip on the down post when trotting and flump down on my horse's back. These are great breeches, and might work really well for someone who isn't totally dependent on extra grip, as I appear to be, but sadly they aren't the right ones for me.

fantastic winter breeches
These breeches are the best winter breeches I have owned. They are soft on the inside, very wind and water proof and toasty warm for brutal Chicago winters. They are flexible, comfortable and wash well. They run a bit large so you could wear a thin pair of thermals underneath but I've stayed warm enough that I didn't need to.

Super warm!
I have been looking for some warm fleece breeches to school in and maybe go to a schooling show in that are comfy but warm for the winter months and look classy too. A Smartpak customer service person suggested these and I am SO glad she did! These breeches are very thick, warm, fleecy on the inside and allow for flexible movement, the silicone is grippy but not too grippy and I feel like they will last a long time. The only thing I didn't love is that they are a bit high waisted, but I will make due if they are warm enough to ride in and do chores comfortably during Iowa winters. I did put a pair of long johns under them but feel like I could have probably skipped that if it was not freezing outside and just a bit cooler. Totally would suggest these to a friend - Also, just a note the regular size fits long legged women - so dont worry that they dont offer the longs. These have a longer than normal inseam than most breeches

New favorite!
Wished they came in black and grey. All day comfortable, stretchy and the grip is just right in the seat. Yes they are one size too, big but can accommodate longjohns easily underneath for those extra cold days. Otherwise the material is warm enough for me in an indoor. (I’m especially cold all the time.) Fit is great for my curvy figure, and the waistband is high enough that you dont feel the need to pull them up. Affordable price and I would love to be able to get more.

Love these. Fit is similar to Romfh Sarafinas, and the msterial is super soft but warm and wet resistant. They are my favorite, warm dry and breathable, wont slide around in the saddle. Wish there were more colors!

Perfect in cold, wet weather!
I just wore these for the first time, and it's 42 degrees, windy and raining. I was feeling kinda "blah" about heading out in this weather to feed my horses and clean the run in sheds. I left the barn an hour later amazed to be warm and dry! What a difference it makes having the right clothes for the job. The water rolled right off these pants, the wind didn't cut through the material, and they are soft and stretchy like wearing yoga pants for winter. I will head back to try riding in them later tonight, but I'm actually looking forward to riding even in this weather now that I know I'll be warm and dry!
Haven't ridden in them or washed them yet, so can't say how they will hold up to that. Sat on a saddle to test out the grip and they are SUPER grippy. The only thing so far I'm not thrilled about is they run REALLY big. I would send them back to get the next size smaller but it took a long time for these to ship, and it looks like the next size down is not available right now anyways. They are really baggy, so I would suggest ordering a size smaller than you usually wear.
