bad zipper
Overall, I love these, and I appreciate that I don't have to get a size up, as I do with some sun shirts. However, the zipper on my newest gets stuck quite often and I'm just hoping it doesn't break entirely. Hopefully that was just this shirt and that the whole collection doesn't have that issue.

Disappointed in color change
I'm so disappointed they have changed these to be two-tone, with a different color for the mesh underarm. I used to be able to use these in dressage shows when coats were waived, which they are most of the. I need some new shirts and I can't buy these anymore since shirts have to be a solid color to be worn in competition. Such a bummer to not offer basic colors like navy and black without two-tone.

Keeps you cool, but not perfect
Very breathable—keep you cool and protected from the sun. The only problem is that the elastic on the vents is coming loose after only a few wears. Not sure these will hold up too long with regular use. I have the Piper sun shirts which have never had this issue even though they are cheaper.

Loose seams
I made a review back when I got this three months ago as a Christmas gift. I wear it about once a week, and the hem is completely gone from the left sleeve. It was short on my arms to begin with but that is because I’m a tall person. I will likely continue to use this as it’s not a show shirt. But I am upset at only getting about 12 wears out of it before it has started breaking down.

Great color!! Short in the sleeves
I got this as a Christmas gift, at this point I pretty much live in sunshirts between work as a PE teacher and riding. Unfortunately because I am so tall/long, the sleeves just come up about 1-2 inches short in the arms for me.(5'11) Unfortunately it doesn't have the stretch my other sunshirts do, but it is still super nice and I am keeping it.(Thats what gloves are for right?) It will be for schooling so it isn't too big of a deal. But I wanted to make sure others were aware if they happened to be lanky like me!

Runs small
I have older versions of the SunShield shirts from SmartPak that I love, but this one runs smaller and seems to be made of a different material. Returned for a different brand of same size, and that one fit great.

A Great Summer Riding Shirt!
I absolutely love this Sunshirt for summer riding! It’s a very lightweight, breathable fabric, while also looking great. I adore the mesh paneling under the arms, because that really helps to dissipate the heat. I found that this shirt has just the right amount of stretch, so it wasn’t clinging too tight to my body to be comfortable for riding. I ordered my normal shirt size, and it fit nicely, so I would say that for me they run true to size.

I like this more than I expected
I was in desperate need of more light-color, long-sleeve shirts for summer, which have been hard to find. These were on sale so I took a chance and ordered one, in the stone color. The fit isn't as nice as some of the big name brands but it's still quite good. I have long arms and the sleeves aren't too short on me. I ordered an extra small and found the size comparison in the questions to be helpful. The fabric is very light weight so i will be interested to see if it holds up to washing. I've worn it hiking and riding so far and the fabric is nice and cool.

Love, love, love this shirt!
I own two versions of the shirt, but in darker colors. So not so good for riding in the summer. Even though I try to avoid lighter colors at the barn because of looking filthy, I went ahead and ordered this shirt for summer in white. So glad I did. In fact, I ordered another shortly thereafter.
It looks nice, and is incredibly cool. Plus, I love not having to put sunscreen all over my arms and chest when I ride and knowing that the shirt will do the work for me. Worth every penny and then some!

Great quality, design needs refinement
These shirts are the exceptional quality that you expect in SmartPak products. The value and quality can’t be beat. Super soft, lightweight, and cool. These shirts would really give competitors a run for their money if they refined the fit. It is a huge disappointment that these shirts have abnormally baggy sleeves all the way down to the wrist. Because of this they look sloppy. They are so baggy it’s even hard to get the sleeves to stay rolled up in a quarter sleeve style. If SmartPak could redesign the sleeves they would be the perfect, affordable sun shirt!

Love this shirt but sleeves are to short.
I really love these shirts and I stay so cool in them. The only problem is the sleeves are 2 to 3 inches to short. Please Smartpak add 2 inches to the sleeves and you will have made the perfect riding shirt.

Good everyday sunshirt
I purchased a couple of these shirts for schooling at home, and they are very good for that job. They definitely protect against sun damage, and I stay fairly cool in them. the only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because the sleeve ends are not cuffed and pretty baggy, so it gives an unfinished look. Otherwise I’d put these shirts up there with the more expensive brands.

Love this
Bought one, then bought a second! Good weight, good cut. The white is a tiny bit see through, so just FYI. The Aqua is not. I’m 5’7” and 130 pounds and the medium was perfect

Great material and colors
I’ve had this for a week, I love the material, the color “glacier blue”... it is a really nice fit stretchy, not to tight not to loose. BUT the sleeves on the lower arm and wrist are way to wide! I’ll wear mine rolled up but I wouldn’t wear it wrist length...baggy!

Great Sunshirt!
I got this sunshirt just because I needed more. I had the Piper Sunshirts in the past, and they were ok, but not amazing. This one is so much nicer. Better shape, better material. I have only worn 1 day so I can't speak to the durability, but seems very nice quality.

The Perfect Sunshirt
I've only discovered the joy of sunshirts a couple of years ago, but now that I have, I'm never going back! This Hadley SunShield version is my favorite, and provides the perfect combination of performance and style.
I love the technical fabric of this shirt - it is lightweight and breathable, making it perfect for 3-season wear. I especially like this weight in spring and fall when it is slightly chilly for short sleeves but still warm. And of course, the SPF protection is a huge bonus for when I'm spending long hours at the barn to prevent burning and skin damage. It is easy to care for - I wash mine with regular detergent on cold and tumble dry on low. I find that they run true to size and wear my normal size which is Large (12-14).
This shirt comes in a variety of gorgeous colors, and I've slowly started collecting them all. Glacier Blue is my current favorite but I also love that new colors come out regularly, which helps me continue my addiction, I mean collection. Be warned that once you try one you're likely to end up with more. Fortunately they are also a great value!

Swing and a miss on this one
I’m on the hunt for sun shirts for this season because I’m getting married in October and 40+ hours a week working with horses in the sun will inevitably lead to a bad farmers tan if I wear anything with short sleeves. This brought me to trying just about every brand of sun shirt that exists. I loved how the Hadley Sunshirt had a metal zipper which increased the sophisticated look of it. When I received my size small shirts (5’7 145 lbs) they fit amazingly in the body and upper arms. The wrist area was SOO disappointing though! It is not gotten enough and the wrists gap and dangle. That’s not the look I’m going for nor will that protect my wrists from sun exposure. At $60 a shirt I will gladly return them and spend an extra $10 to get a $70 Tailored Sportsman IceFil sun shirt. I love you, Smartpak! But this one just didn’t impress me!

My three season go to shirt
I own several of these and just got the beautiful glacier blue. Sizing is consistent and true and I love that I can wear these spring thru fall (winter time too for a bit but they can be brutal here and usually need a thicker base layer)

I love these shirts!
I have three of these. I wear a size small (I'm a 34 D) and it fits perfectly because I like a tighter fit. They're super flattering but be warned - the lighter colors will show ungodly sweat stains. I've warn these in 95 degrees 100% humidity weather and they did help me feel cooler (despite the sweat marks lol). I currently wear them now in around 60 degree weather and they do a good job keeping me warm but not letting me overheat! Best shirts ever, I like them better than the regular Piper ones.

Nice sunshirt
I have three of these sunshirts now. They are a thinner material than the Ariat sunshirts, which can be nice on really hot days where you still want to wear a sunshirt to be protected from the sun. They still wash well and retain their shape. I really like the new color options with the different mesh colors.

This is a wonderful idea. I love the sleeves keeping me out of the sun while the mesh allows air flow. Brilliant! My size fit me perfectly.

Great fabric, square cut
Lovely cooling fabric. I adore the warm gray. Does run slightly shorter and more square through the body than many other brands. Not ideal for those of us with longer torsos, but it does stay tucked in! Additionally, the sleeves lack a narrower cuff, which did allow for some sun burning between my wrist and the shirt. Overall, a huge improvement over the old smartpak shirts, and a fantastic deal. Fabric has held up perfectly to several washes and hard wears as well.
