As riders and online shoppers, we know it can be tough to buy a new bridle or pair of boots without trying them on. That's why we moved the fitting room to your living room (or barn)! From breeches to blankets, if you or your horse can try it on, you can return it, free! Just use the pre-paid return label included in your order within 60 days from the purchase date. And of course, please make sure the item is in like-new condition with original packaging (we said 'fitting room', not 'war room'!).

The Environmental Solution to Pesky Flies!

Fly Predators are beneficial insects and the natural enemy of flies. These insects never bother humans or animals, but feed on fly larvae to interrupt the breeding cycle of flies. Sprinkle on manure areas monthly to control fly populations. Up to 94% reduction in pest flies have been reported.

Nothing could be easier. Just sprinkle Fly Predators out of their shipping pouch near manure areas. In a few minutes you've done your fly control for the month. We ship Fly Predators in the immature stage, inside a pupa (cocoon) which looks like a black rice kernel. A few days after arrival they'll begin to emerge from these cocoons which is when you should sprinkle them on or near fresh manure and other pest fly breeding areas. Fly Predators will self-distribute up to 100 yards but they will not fly to, crawl on or otherwise bother you. While Fly Predators stop pest flies from reproducing, they do not affect existing adult flies. So you can't expect a fly free environment immediately following the first release if you start after flies are already present. Adult pest flies must either live out their short life span of approximately 21 days or be removed by supplemental methods of fly control compatible with Fly Predators. These include traps, sticky paper, or bait stations. Complete instructions are included with each shipment and are also available below.

Fly predators cannot be returned as they are living.

Instructions

Instructions for Use:
Simple Instructions: Wait, don't release your Fly Predators until you see at least 10-20 moving around. They are shipped in the inactive pupal (cocoon) stage which are the little black things. Within 5 days after arrival during the summer (up to 14 days when cooler) they will start to emerge. When its cool, keeping them in a warmer area (75- 80ºF) will speed up their emergence. When it's hot keep them under 100ºF and out of direct sunlight. After they begin to emerge release them as soon as possible. Holding them longer than 5 days after first emergence will reduce their effectiveness. Call us if you see no signs of life after 10 days from the date shipped in summer or after 14 days from date shipped when it's cooler. Release your Fly Predators by sprinkling them around each area where there is moist manure. Divide the Fly Predators proportionally by how much manure is in each area. Put some in the manure corner of corrals, some in the barn, some at the manure pile (only the outside 6” supports fly reproduction, the rest is too warm), as well as some in pasture areas, arenas, grassy areas and dry lots. Pay particular attention to moist areas, leaky faucets, water troughs, etc. Fly Predators will disperse themselves up to 300 feet so putting them nearby manure is good enough. Flies can't reproduce in dried manure so if it's spread in fields and completely bone dry, don't put Fly Predators there. Watch Out for ants, birds and chickens all of which love to eat the pupae that some of the Fly Predators are still in. Release them away from ant areas. If you have free range chickens put the Fly Predators in open sacks hung above chicken level. Important! Keep pesticide sprays away from Fly Predators. If you have to spray a horse move them away from any manure area. To get the last few flies, use traps, sticky paper or bait. Fly Predators stop pest fly reproduction but do not affect existing adult flies. It takes about 30 days from first release to see a difference. Pest flies travel 1/4 mile or more. If you have nearby neighbors with animals suggest they use Fly Predators too, for best control for everyone in the area.

Fly Predators- is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 123.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I sure was hoping for these little predators to help with the fly control this year but wasn't thinking ahead. Got them and waited for some to hatch than put them on several compost piles. Then next day our chickens found them and ate every last one of them. I am sure they enjoyed the "fly predator" delicacy. I decided not to get any more but the chickens aren't happy. They thought they were really good. Just a little warning for those with chickens that roam.Bev in Central Texas

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lowered the flies I started the fly predators with a couple of horses a crew months ago. The fly count has gone down considerably. Works best with supplements that reduce flies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low fly summer Used one treatment for a big area in June and have to say we had a pretty low summer for flies (our field has traditionally been much, much worse). Was a dry summer, too, so I'm sure that helped.
