Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It!!!! After reading numerous reviews of EVERY crib collar on the market, I sucked it up and spent the money on this collar and have not regretted it for one second. I acquired a 19yr old schoolmaster that was kept in a stall all the time prior to me and I found that he was beyond obsessed! He cribbed on anything including T Posts, since his teeth were starting to wear and he started loosing weight from cribbing so much. He is very comfortable in this collar, he has not lost any hair, has no rub marks, and it is of the very best leather quality...Best part is....NO MORE CRIBBING!!! He has been stopped dead in his tracks, and pleased to say his weight came right back up and his teeth are looking better already!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Cribbing and No Rubs! Our big Holsteiner got this a month ago. He loves it! Well, I'm sure he's disappointed he can't crib, but it's for the better. The fit is ideal. It took some adjustments to be tight enough not to crib but it doesn't bother him at all. The collar is much stiffer and wider than his previous style. It is more effective ad the sheepskin padding makes it more comfortable for him.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have a few complaints but pretty and plush. I've had lots of experience with every kind of cribbing collar there is, since I have the worlds worst obsessive Cribber! His top teeth are at his gum line and he's only 6 yrs old. My vet recommended this collar. #1. The leather strap that goes under the throat comes to you flat and stiff, so I shaped it into a tight V-shape by tying a strong string through the buckles and around to the other side of the throat piece for several days to train the leather into the correct shape- Otherwise the throat strap wanted to pull outward, creating constant, unnecessary pressure on the poll and forehead area, even on my horse's lowered head. #2. The fluffy sheepskin fur takes up so much space on the top straps that they need to be lengthened/longer until the sheepskin is not as thick/cushy. I had to find a leather belt of the same width as the top straps with the right size buckle, to buckle it onto the end of the forehead strap to extend it, to even fit my average size Quarter horse's head. He now has a comfy cribbing collar but at the end of the first day, I went out and found he had gotten the right side of the forehead strap over and behind his ear. But he's smart and good at puzzle solving! He once got a fly mask -with the ear covers- off without undoing the velcro or tearing it, within the first hour of wearing it. He will, however, wear a fly mask- without the ear covers- without trying to get it off :-) He also carefully climbed through a 6 stranded, white, 2" wide, electric tape fence with only ONE foot between strands that wasn't plugged into electricity- without getting cut - to get to eat newly planted bermuda grass- then climbed back through it to be with the other two horses that didn't know how to do that trick:-) LOL

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well, it WORKS! My ex-racehorse, Al, is the King of Cribbers. It isn't doing him any good and nothing I tried had worked. Forget the "miracle collar"! He would just wiggle it around until it was doing nothing at all! And it rubbed holes in his thin TB skin. So I gulped and paid the price for this VERY expensive version because I had run out of other options. My vet was as surprised as I was that it worked out of the bag and is still working. Al can't get it off and his skin is just fine. So it's worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective and comfy for the horse I ordered this for one of my trainer's horses who was getting bad rubs from his Miracle Collar. It works really well, and doesn't hurt his skin. She has it on so both straps are behind his ears (it won't fit any other way) but it's doing the job--he doesn't crib at all with it. Wish it wasn't so expensive, but if you have a cribber with sensitive skin, I'd recommend saving up to get this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pricey, but worth a try Chestnut warmblood with sensitive skin that cribs. How's that for a sales ad?! That's what I own--he's a great dressage horse, so I deal with it. He had a traditional cribbing strap that had rubbed a raw mark on his poll. I wedged open my wallet for this one and I'm pretty pleased. My WB has a WB head so when the leather was new and stiff, it was a close fit, as it's worn in, I've been able to adjust. It does a great job with the cribbing, but I'm a little concerned that the piece in front of his ears may be causing some irritation. I'll get some moleskin for that and I think it will be perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fancy This is a really high quality cribbing collar. I'm not so sure it works though. I haven't been putting the band over the front of my horses ears since he hates it. I still catch him cribbing if it isn't tight enough behind the ears. This cribbing collar is made of really nice leather and is very comfortable on my horse. It is the most comfortable cribbing collar I've found and seems to distribute the pressure evenly. The downside is it's very expensive and may be wasted on my horse.
