Perfect for Hoof Related Treatment
It's one of those items you should always have on hand. You might not need it for a year or more, but when you do, you'll be happy you have it.

Great product
I purchased the Elastikon bandage tape to replace a roll my veterinarian used when treating a cut on my horse. It helped to keep the vet wrap on his leg in place so it did not slide down. I did turn him out with the bandage on and the tape kept it in place while he was in the pasture, keeping his cut clean and the bug off it.

Works well
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Many other bandages on the market do not stick well. We have 110 horses so when it comes to products that work, we can not afford to play around. Other bandage tape may be cheaper, but Elastikon is worth every penny!

I wish I could give 10 stars!!
My trainer introduced me to elastikon a few years ago when my horse injured his knee, and needed a bandage that would stay put in such a high movement area. Elastikon did the trick! Since then it has been a staple in my tackroom, I've used it for hoof wraps, leg bandages, and even for covering bedsores so that they can heal. My local feed stores carry it, but it is very pricey. Smartpak has the best pricing on this and for some reason these rolls offer superior wrapping. I don't know how to explain it other than the bandage easily glides off the roll while wrapping, allowing you to wrap with ease and a consistent tightness. I didn't realize this til yesterday when I was using elastikon from my vet, ran out mid-wrapping, and finished the bandage with the elastikon from Smartpak. The difference is huge! I will only be purchasing this from Smartpak from now on because of the price and quality.

Stay in place bandaging
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best tape for bandaging a leg! Substitutes are not the same and don’t adhere as well. Expensive product but worth the peace of mind when you want your bandage to stay put!

Great bandage!
My horse put his leg through the fence and cut his leg right above the coronet band. This worked great to make a "band-aid" vrs using cotton and vet wrap. Even stays put during turnout.

Great for wounds in tough places
My senior mule gets scabs/sores on her hips. They are in the worst spot and need to be covered til they heal. The elasticon works wonders for this. I use a nonstick pad and I stick it right over the wound on her hair. It will generally stay 24 hrs, sometimes longer. (It is in a spot that bends a lot)

Great product
Beats vet wrap any day. Really stays put. Easy to work with even though scissors needed to cut the wrap. Recommended by my vet.

Better than 3m
As a former veterinary technician, I am very familiar with elastikon, so when my mare had her eye removed due to squamous cell carcinoma, I purchased both elastikon and 3m (3m because it is less expensive). Both stick well in temps above 40 degrees. The 3m hardly sticks in temps below 25 while the elastikon is not perfect, but sticks better at colder temps. It is easy to mold around the head and easy to cut around eyes and ears. It is breathable, stretchable, and seems comfortable. Snooky's incision dehisced after 14 days, so she she's had to wear bandages for the past month and will continue to wear them for another few weeks. Elastikon is expensive, but the better choice.

helpful for bandaging
Have been dealing with a very bad leg wound for several months. this tape helps keep the vet rap in place without taking off the skin with it with frequent bandage changes. I use it to adhere the bandage materials to the leg to keep it from slipping.

Stays in place
This tape is awesome for those bandaging jobs that need to stay in place but don't want to tighten up. I am currently using it on a wound at Gaskin level. The only negative thing is when you go to remove it it can be tough and takes some hair off with it, which is painful.

This product was a life saver
Smart pack's elasticon was amazing! It was so much better than the competitors product. I used this to wrap around my horses standing wraps because he like to tear them off. They lasted all night and the elasticon didn't budge!

Must have in the first aid kit
There is nothing better to keep a injured leg wrapped & vet wrap up or to wrap an abscesses hoof with. Good stuff.

Works well for bandaging
Haven't had a chance to use it yet but I know from the vet that is a product to have in the barn "just in case." Really holds the vet wrap in place!

Great for stubborn hock sores
My horse had chronic hock sores. He tore off every other kind of tape I tried: duct, surgical, first aid. This sticks to the hair and is thick enough to protect the wound. It's been a few weeks and skin is starting to grow over the sores. I use liquid bandaid on them during the day and cover them at night with this tape.

Best pricing through SmartPak
My vet told me to use this to wrap my horse's foot for several days following surgery. So I hunted for best pricing and found it here. Note: If your vet tells you to use this, don't make mistake of using the other popular wrap instead. This product provides a different kind of support and protection. Make sure you wrap carefully to ensure tape lays flat and does not interfere with circulation.

Elastikon Is the best!
I've been using quite a lot of elastikon bandages with my injured horse and it works great. Tip: don't store outside in the winter, tape doesn't stick as well if its been stored in cold temps.

Great product for cuts that are on a joint
I bought this for my horse that has a cut on his knee that needs to be wrapped. This is the only thing that will stay on. I use this with a gauze pad on the cut and then duct tape the top and bottom of the Elastikon wrap. It will stay on until I take it off.

Amazing tape
This is the only tape that truly sticks to equine hair and continues to do so even when my donkey gets wet and dirty. It's expensive but absolutely the best product out there to secure bandaging.
