Deceiving horse balm
In Germany i used several other Horse Balm products so i can compare. This was the less convincing product I ever used for my own joints, I think there is only a little camphor and rosmarine in it and menthol either. May be the reason that the % of the ingredients is not referred.

Great Liniment, Needs New Container
I LOVE this liniment! The ingredients are exactly what I look for in a liniment, as I love the effect of Arnica. It has that great tingliness without feeling COLD. It also has a nice scent. However, it's very hard to use out of this little tub, if you have to reach back into the jar after massaging it onto your horse, it winds up with little bits of hair, dirt, etc in it. I should have just put it into a squeeze bottle myself, but it would be nice if it came that way.

New Favorite Liniment!
Just tried this product for the first time, and it is officially my new favorite liniment! It's gentle on the skin, yet very effective (even rubbed it on my own back out of curiosity). It has just enough of a cooling tingle without being COLD, and doesn't leave your fingertips freezing all day after applying it. It almost has a little bit of an Icy Hot effect. It does have a VERY strong scent, which some people may find overpowering, but I love. I especially love that it contains Arnica. I was specifically searching for one that did as I use Arnica gel on myself for all my own sore muscles. This product was very effective in helping me to relieve a large muscle knot in my gelding's stifle that was causing some mild irregularities in his gaits. Overall, very pleased. My only fault with it is that it would be much easier to use if it were in a bottle rather than a tub. Having to scoop it out is a bit messy.

My horse loves this liniment!!
My mare is coming back from an injury and everytime I ride her I've been rubbing this on her shoulder. She loves it! Generally she hates being curried/rubbed but with when I put this on her she is happy and relaxed.

It works really good on me
I bought this for rubbing my horse's neck and back after workout, but I ended up using this more myself. It works really good on achy joints and muscles. It is not sticky, is easy to apply, and gives refreshing feeling. It is in the gel form, but is very soft, so you have to be careful when you open the jar. Don't flip it upside down.

Darn!
I was going to buy this because it sounded great....but I wanted to check on USEF's banned substances just in case. Camphor is on the 2014 banned substances list (https://www.usef.org/documents/drugsMeds/drugsMedsGuidelines2014.pdf). Just wanted to put that out there for anyone who that might affect. I'm not sure what the clearance time for camphor is...

Miracle in a jar!
This past October, I was competing at a very large scale show with my quarter horse. After taking him back to the barn after our class he began to become very stiff and sore in his neck, to the point where he couldn't lift it, or move without falling. (He had this problem when he was younger) My trainer got him up, and gave me some of this and told me to massage it into his neck. As I had my final callback class to ride in, and I was the first one to go out. So we used a bit of this, and it worked almost instantly. The knot in his neck smoothed out a bit, and he seemed to feel better. After my class we did spend a good two hours just massaging his neck, but this stuff works wonders. Great for horses with sensitive skin as well! Won't burn or sting them like other liniments/balms will. I LOVE THIS STUFF. Definitely won't have a tack room without it

Love this stuff (for myself!)
Effol Horse Balm can be used on people or horses - I use it on myself for my various aches and pains after riding. It's actually very similar to a human product called Biofreeze that both my chiropractor and massage therapist recommend to their patients for a third of the price and five times the quantity! It goes on cold (feels refreshing!) and then feels warm after a couple minutes, and it really does work making muscle strains feel better. It's very strong smelling but I personally like it. Also the container says do not use within 48 hours of competing but looking at the ingredients, I'm not sure what the ingredient of concern is. I don't compete so it's not an issue for me but it may be for some. Overall it's a great product and I'm always sure to have some on hand.

Great Gel Liniment!
I love this product! The gel stays where you want it & has immediate effects. It is very mild (I've used it on myself). You might not like it if you are used to very stong liniments, but this is perfect for more sensitive areas/horses.
