Fantastic stuff
I've used the Effax balm for years on my tack. Keeps the leather soft, overcomes stiffness (for less used tack) and has a great fragrance and feel. I put it on with a tack sponge then work it in with my fingers. Feels great on tack and hands! My first pot has lasted for years.

Great conditioner for the price
I've been using this product for manyyy years and love it. It's very nourishing to the leather and leaves a nice sheen. Can leave a sticky feeling to the leather if applied too thickly or not left to soak in long enough so if that's something you don't like, stay away. The smell is average for a product like this. I've tried many high end conditioners that cost over double this product and I believe they work the same. I keep buying more of this product because it's that good!

Smells great, easy to apply
I use this product with a slightly damp tack sponge. It's easy to apply and conditions well. I like what it smells like and even seems to moisturize my skin a little! It's not tacky or sticky and doesn't leave a film on my tack.

Great Leather conditioner
I brought this small jar of Balsam last month as a sample and I'm so glad I did. It is an excellent leather conditioner for my saddle and bridle. I'm going to use it on my older saddles also. It is lightweight and an added plus is that it smells really good!! I like the fact that the smaller size is offered so that you can try the product before you invest lots of money in the larger size. Great marketing technique and of course the free shipping with my smartpak order is more than a little convenient.

Amazing
After purchasing a saddle that previously hadn't been cared for fully, I tried several different leather conditioners before trying the Effex Leather Balm. The other conditioners were somewhat effective but left the leather dull and almost tacky-feeling. So, did some research and purchased the leather balm. Wow! After one application, my saddle leather was supple, felt good and had a nice sheen to it. I applied it in a thin coat with a paintbrush using the bristles to work it into surface cracks, rubbed it in with my hands, and then wiped it with a soft rag. Additional applications have continued to mitigate the dry leather and previous surface cracks. It absorbs readily and smells nice too. Going forward, this product will be my primary leather conditioner choice.

Soaks right into the leather
When my saddle was re-stuffed recently, the fitter said it looked dry and recommended I use this instead of the Moss saddle soap I'd been using. It works amazingly well - soaks in much faster than the Passier balsam.
He recommended that I use a Haas face brush to apply it, but that's too hard to get into the Effax container. I apply it with a sponge, then work it into the leather with the brush. That gets it into all the crevices, especially on buffalo leather.
My saddle hasn't looked or felt this good in ages!

Love this for all my leather
I used this on my riding boots that are on their last legs and it softened them up and I think i'll get another show season out of them. It's not greasy or oily and the leather just absorbs it nicely, it also smells amazing which is odd for a leather care product!

Makes leather soft

Makes your leather so soft
I've used this stuff for years. The big 500ml container will last quite a while. I use it on my western and English saddles and equipment to keep them supple and soft. Also does great on soft leather boots for conditioning. It conditions wonderfully. I've tried other products and this one is by far my favorite. It will ho wever darken your leather, so keep that in mind. I don't mind that it does, but if you've gotreally light leather, it'll darken.

Holy cow I love this stuff!! I am the type of person who is always trying something new and different. But I will never get another type of leather conditioner again! This stuff makes all my tack buttery soft! A little goes a long way. Absolutely superior to all other leather conditioners I have used.

A little goes a long way
I bought a saddle that had not been conditioned and squeaked badly. Really noisy whenever you moved in the saddle. This product made the saddle soft and supple and took all of the noise away. It was recommended by barn mates and my saddle fitter. Great product!

I bought some stirrup leathers that were in some desperate need of conditioning and oiling to supple them up. This stuff worked GREAT. Just two applications and my leather were supple. My saddle and bridle also greatly appreciate this stuff. Word to the wise: a little goes a LONG way, so you don't need a huge container to make it last.

Love this stuff!!
I have always use Effax Leather Balsam for many years and absolutely love it. It smells great and keeps the leather soft and is easy to use. Also, water beads up on the leather after use so if your caught in the rain the leather doesn't dry out.

Awesome product for tack, boots and shoes!
I love this super rich product for deep conditioning my saddle, bridle, reins boots, shoes, leather gloves and purses. Clean with saddle soap or another cleaner first, Then rub this product in to moisturize. I use it 3-4 times a year on the products listed above.

My favorite balm by far!
I got this as it was recommended by my saddle manufacturer for treating my dressage saddle. It smells great, goes on easy with a tack sponge, and soaks up VERY well. It does NOT leave a shiny finish, and so far, I haven't had to scrub off any excess product since it soaks in so well. I think it smells amazing, and the major negative others had to say was that it stinks (I definitely disagree). The tub is huge, and will last me a very long time. I have used it on my boots, saddle, and bridles and think it's done good things for all my leather goods.

Excellent for high quality soft leather
I bought this on the recommendation of my saddle fitter after finding that other soaps and conditioners were too harsh for my wonderfully soft leather saddle (calfskin/buffalo). not only did it restore the leather, it now looks better than it did when I bought it! It restored moisture and color to the leather without softening or weakening it, as oil does.
