Nice barn boots for Northwest winters
These boots are nice looking, not too heavy, and great for the wet winter weather we have in the Pacific Northwest. I had to return the first pair for a larger size. I typically wear a 7 1/2 or a 37 and that's what I first ordered. Unfortunately my toes bumped the ends, and I had to re-order a size 8. (As always, the return to Smartpak was quick and trouble free.) That boot was pretty wide in the footbed and my feet sloshed around in it, but I solved that issue with a felt insole. So now they fit nicely with a lightweight (smartwool) sock. The calf is quite wide, and I have narrow calves, so there is a lot of room for super thick pants or calf warmers. The lacing at the top of the calf is snugged to its maximum and there is still a generous amount of room. If you have really muscular or large calves these boots would be great. I give them 4 stars for the fit issues: a deeper lacing vent would make them more versatile for a wider range of calves, and the footbed could not be considered medium width. Those "issues" do however make them extremely easy to slip into and head out the door...

Runs way small.
I’m tall and wear and 11 which is what I ordered. I could get my foot in them but my toes were very crowded at the end. My daughter who wears a 9.5 could have worn them but she has wide feet and they were narrow for her. Buy the a size up from what you normally wear is my suggestion. They seemed good quality I guess just small sadly.
