My mare is cracking me up
Received my mares green slow feed 23” bucket,
Waiting for the insert ( smooth side up)
Placed her feed in the bucket with insert. She popped her head out of the bucket, she stared at me as if to say ,”what the heck is going on here mom”
She went at it again, same…
The, it was a full blown game fir her. She goes at it with a vengeance. It’s a fun game, she rocks her head back and forth. Fun times snd it does slow her chow down a lot.
Glad I got it for our princess.

My horse LOVES it!
I bought this for my stall rest mare as another item to keep her stimulated while cooped up. She didn’t have issues with eating fast but thought it would be interesting. She plays with it all day, spinning it in her feed bucket just for fun. I actually like that some of her grain gets stuck under the disc so she keeps playing with it, looking for more. It helps keep her occupied and stimulated. It makes a ton of noise but I always laugh whenever it’s banging around in her stall because she’s enjoying playing with it. It’s one of her favorite stall “toys”!

Disappointed
I bought the Drop N Slow and so I could bring it indoors and easily wash it after each feeding during the winter months. (I was previously using a very large greedy
feeder) I was surprised and disappointed to see how small the "wells" were since it advertised that it could hold 6qts! I only feed 1/2 qt of balancer with supplements, which wouldn't even fit in all the wells, so I divided the amount which made it more inconvenient, but defeated the purpose if I put it all in at once. It fit nicely in the fortex bucket Smart Pak suggested using, but it proved not snug enough that the Drop N Slow was able to be flipped duri.g feeding, dumping the grain out into the bucket. I think it work better for a mini since the wells are very small and can only fit maybe 1 to 1 1/2 cups of grain.

Works Well Preventing Choke
I ordered this after my greedy eater 2 year old managed to get choked on his pellets. It works very well, but he can pick it out of the bucket when he nears the end of the feed and gets frustrated. It is tough, and he has not damaged it by picking it out and he even stepped on it once. I do watch him eat, and pick it out for him now when he is almost finished eating so that he can get the stray pellets. It washes off easily in between meals. If you need to buy a feeder that has a 12 inch bottom circumference, then order this one from Smartpak:
It is the one featured in the picture of the Drop N’ Slow. If your horse picks it out of the feeder, just add a smooth round stone about the size of a softball on top of it. While I was waiting for my order, I used two of these stones in his bucket. Old timer’s trick, but they are a pain to wash and not easy on the horse’s mouth. I highly recommend the Drop N’ Slow.
