We're bringing you this product at the lowest price allowed by the manufacturer so you won't find it cheaper anywhere else. This also means we can't apply any further discounts or promotions.

As riders and online shoppers, we know it can be tough to buy a new bridle or pair of boots without trying them on. That's why we moved the fitting room to your living room (or barn)! From breeches to blankets, if you or your horse can try it on, you can return it, free! Just use the pre-paid return label included in your order within 60 days from the purchase date. And of course, please make sure the item is in like-new condition with original packaging (we said 'fitting room', not 'war room'!).

Why We Love This

The Dr. Cook's Beta Bitless Bridle was developed by Dr. Robert Cook after years of research, inspiration and perspiration!  The Dr. Cook® Bitless Brides are marketed all over the world and used in all disciplines. It is the most accepted and trusted 'bit free' bridle on the market.  The Bitless Bridle allows the rider to communicate by painless pressure that is distributed around the whole of the head.

Favorite Features

  • Made from Beta which is a leather-like synthetic composed of a nylon core with a vinyl coating making it impervious to dirt and sweat and will give you years of use with no maintenance required
  • The material stays supple in freezing weather and doesn't dry out or get brittle with age
  • Beta is durable and easy to clean - just dunk in a bucket of water, swish around and hang to dry!
  • Material has a slightly grainy surface and low-sheen surface, which gives it a leather-like appearance

Dr Cook's Beta Bitless Bridle is rated 4.7037 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My horse LOVES this bridle!! I chose to try the Dr. Cook's Bitless bridle because my OTTB has a tendency to toss his head when we ride and bite down on the bit and try to pull the reins out of my hands. So, I really wanted to go bitless. Well, my horse loves this bridle. He is so relaxed now when we ride, he no longer tosses his head or tries to pull. He is head is relaxed and never too high and for the first time ever he has rounded at the canter with very light contact! It makes me so happy that my horse is so happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Beta Material I previously wrote a positive review on the Dr. Cook's bitless beta bridle (scroll down). I would like to amend that I am quite pleased with the Beta material. I vacillated between purchasing the leather one, or the more economically priced Beta version. I went with the Beta to save on funds, as I was not sure how effective the bridle would be. I love both the bridle, AND the Beta material. It is low maintenance, but has a nice look to it. :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light as a feather! I own a light, sensitive, off-track young TB mare. In restarting her (working dressage & jumping), I have realized how 'less is more' with her. She stretches into the contact with a bit fine, but when I saw this Dr. Cook's bitless bridle, the design spoke to me and I thought it would be perfect for this mare! People tend to be traditional, and will look at me like I am nuts for going bitless on a hot, sensitive horse. I have found that my mare 'rides like butter' in this bridle, and has no fuss. She responded to it instantly, stretches down just as nicely, and has better turns. I have not experienced any spooks or bolts while riding in it, so I can not yet estimate how much control it offers in that situation, but it seems better than I expected. I am definitely keeping this bridle!
