Cashel Fly Leg Guards is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 105.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well Bought because my horse was stomping because of the bugs. These help and they never fall off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun colors I bought these 3 weeks ago, holding up great so far, good fit, stay in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working My horses legs were covered in flies. These boots are easy to put on. she is not sweating under them and so far they are holding up great. Have been using them for a couple of weeks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Protection, does not hold up in the wash... Great Protection, does not hold up in the wash...the velcro comes off and the weave of the fabric gets ruined

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Fly Boots i've tried!!! I have a gelding with 4 stockings who won't stomp the flies, so he gets bitten up so badly he has bloody legs and swarms of flies come back. I've tried other fly boots that worked to stop flies, but by morning after a night of turnout, they had slunk down all the way and weren't so effective. These stay put!! The contour around the bone helps keep them in place and I haven't had a single problem. I was hesitant at first because I was worried the stiffer material (which keeps them standing up) would cause rubs, but we're good so far!! Would definitely recommend these to anyone with a horse who needs fly boots as bad as mine. Love the color options too :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These boots are amazing! I've had these for over a year, and they still look brand new. I hose them off after each use, and throw them in my washing machine at the end of the season, super easy to take care of. They are easy to put on, and actually stay on/up. I have had no issues with these slipping or moving around, both in turnout and in the barn. They are super lightweight and breathable, so there's no worry about the legs overheating. I have a size large, and they fit the front legs of both of my nearly 17hh TB's and my stocky 15hh Quarter Horse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works amazing, inconsistent quality I have owned 3 pairs, bought at different times. First pair was 3 years old this summer and got passed onto a friend. Second pair is still going after one summer and one month use, but the mesh is starting to tear. Third pair was purchased last summer as well, but only used a couple times before they were put away for the winter. Pulled them out a month ago and one completely fell apart at the main seam after 3 weeks of use. The mesh was also torn during those few weeks too. Reluctant to spend more one these due to inconsistent product durability, but they need fly boots so I probably will.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works I bought two weeks ago for my horses front legs. I just ordered another pair for his back legs. His stomping on front legs has been so much better. I was tired of having to put fly spray on so much. Especially since the wind would spray it onto me too. These boots have helped a lot. I just need to check to make sure they don’t twist on him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cashel Fly Leg Guards are a LIFESAVER!!! My 35 yea Cashel Fly Leg Guards are a LIFESAVER!!! My 35 year old gelding is sensitive to the bugs. Last summer they started making sores on his legs. These guards are so easy to apply and comfortable to wear. He wore them all summer, just removing to clean them every so often. They held up super well. Great product awesome company, love their fly masks too. My guy wears the long one which covers the nose. Thank you, Cashel! With love and lots of gratitude, Maia

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excitement Led to Disappointment Bought 2 sets of these for my mare that is outside 24/7. Within a week one of the boots was completely ripped at the hoof and within another 1-2 weeks all 4 were destroyed. She's in a pasture with a pony so it wasn't like she was with 10+ horses all day and night. Was totally excited with the look of them, ease of putting them on, color, etc only to be extremely disappointed that they were a waste of money. :(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Holding up well, maybe run a little small Holding up well but they seem to run a little small, my 14hh very stocky mustang the horse size fits well, my 16.2h average boned thoroughbred the horse size seems a little small, especially in the hind legs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not satisfied! They tore and fell off the 1st wk. they were worn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice I’m a little on the fence about these. I do like them, they do work, they do eliminate a lot of stomping. The colors are great. Of course I color coordinate them with their fly masks which makes me deliriously happy. The issue I have is them turning on some of the horses (all live out full time). Other ones they stay really nice. I also didn’t think through their 24/7 bell boots. I have just been putting the fly boots over them which works fine, but maybe isn’t ideal. Overall, I’m not sure I would purchase these again, but I also don’t regret purchasing them either. If that makes any kind of sense.. For sizing: (all TBs) 15.1hh mare- Cob (little short but fits around nicely) 15.3-16.3hh- Horse 17.2hh- Oversized (little big around but tall enough)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fly Leg Guards are good protection. My horse has had nasty summer sores as a result of fly bites. It gets out of hand quickly, and so, I bought these about a month ago. They seem to offer protection from the fly bites, at least the sores have healed, and he hasn't had any new ones. Not sure if the fly guards are the only reason, but I'm going to stick with them for sure. They fit fine and are easy to put on. I recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best fly boot I’ve tried I tried three different fly boots and this one is by far the best. It stays put, breathes, and hasn’t caused any rubs. The horses seem to not mind these, as they haven’t pulled them off like they did with the others.
Date published: 2018-07-31
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Do the job We bought these (in Arab/Cob for our 14 hand 1/2 Arab) and they work well so far. He is pretty easy on blankets and equipment, but we turn him out in them all day and they are staying in place and holding up after a few weeks. We did once try them on our draft who is a total beast and she destroyed them in a day, but I think she is an outlier.
Date published: 2018-07-28
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helps with stomping! These fly boots are well made and helped my horse stop stomping! Would buy again
Date published: 2018-07-25
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not likely to last long These are becoming tattered in a little over a week on a horse that is just standing in a dirt paddock. I liked the fact that they are shaped around the fetlock and don’t slip down so much. However, the bottom edge should be reinforced as it is coming apart already.
Date published: 2018-07-23
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ripped the first month I bought the same leg guards in the past & they lasted for several years with the same horse. My horse has ample leg length and the Cashel leg guards recently purchased run long & so if they slide only a little the horse steps on it & it will rip
Date published: 2018-07-20
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth every penny These fly guards have been very helpful to limit the fly bites on my filly that is very thin skinned. They fit great and stay in place.
Date published: 2018-07-15
Rated 4 out of 5 by from They stay put Been using for 2 weeks. Fit well. I DO NOT recommmend purchasing a larger size. They stay on, do not slide down and prevent bug bites. Only down fall is she has developed a rub mark on her skin on her cannon bone. Not serious after lotion and a 24 hour break have reapplied them. Very happy. Would rather have a small rub than the horrible bloody bites she was getting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't Slip Off!! I bought these about a month ago for my horse that lives outside 24/7. I was a little skeptical since my friend has historically has a very hard time finding fly boots that wouldn't fall off, slip around or the horses wouldn't fidget with. But the flies are so bad this year I figured it was worth a try! One of the geldings was stomping so hard due to flies that he was destroying his hooves (he was barefoot and since then we have had to put shoes back on front to save his hooves). I initially was interested in them due to their more contoured shape vs other fly boot products I have seen. I ordered the "horse" size for my 15.1 QH and they are just the right size height-wise but maybe a teeny bit big in circumference (run out of velcro to get the tightness I want). They literally stay on ALL DAY, with him and his hooligan buddies running around the pasture. I also actually like the bright colors also which is different for me lol out of 3 horses wearing them all day we have only had ONE boot come off and my friend said admittedly didn't think she got that one on tight enough. It was easy to find in the pasture due to the color vs a grey or white one, so that is an added plus! The leg guards don't chafe their legs at all, and their legs don't seem hot or sweaty under them when we remove them in the evening. I wish they would sell them in packs of 4 as an option, but it is nice to be able to get one size for fronts and a larger size for the backs. I have a more slightly built gelding I will be getting a set for but I will probably go for the "arab/cob" size for him. 100% would recommend these fly guards to others, they have saved our horses legs so far this summer. Side note: Cashel please pretty please make a lime green!!!! And maybe purple ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Full coverage, good fit I've only been using these a week but my mare is much happier than without them! So far she hasn't managed to take them off. Other horses at my barn wear them and they seem to hold up well. I like the way they are shaped to the leg, makes a great fit!
Date published: 2018-07-02
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stood up to one horse, but not the other I wish I could give these 5 stars, but unfortunately, I have one horse that finds a way to destroy every fly boot I have purchased within 24 hours. They work great for my other horse. They stay up, and stay on. They also clean up very well. Just wish they worked for my “Mr. Distructo” Ha-ha!
Date published: 2018-06-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look beautiful and fit perfectly! I bought these leg guards about three weeks ago, and I'm really looking forward to using them this summer! I tried them on my Paint Horse and they fit him perfectly. I was a little bit worried that they might rub his legs and/or cause sores, but they have not done so. They also seem to stay up well, and I appreciate that they are contoured to the shape of his legs, unlike some of the other fly boots I have seen. Overall, I think they are a high-quality product and I would buy them again!
Date published: 2018-06-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from They stay up and cover the hoof. They're just righ Perform as advertised. Now my favorite fly wraps. Highly recommend.
Date published: 2018-06-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product stays put. My horse has to wear fly wraps 24/7. These are phenomenal except that I can only use them on her front legs because they are too short for back legs and leave too much bare leg exposed for flies to chomp on so I have to use different brands on her back legs. They hardly move at all, no sheepskin to get soggy and heavy, don't fall down, and cover the entire pastern area. Please tell Cashel to make rear leg options or just taller in general. Or actually I guess I can go to their website now and tell them!
Date published: 2018-05-28
Rated 4 out of 5 by from They stay in place! These boots are a bit different looking and the fabric feels a bit stiff, but they are contoured so nicely. The inside has soft lining behind the fetlock and pastern. They do NOT slip down. No rubs! Because of their shape, they're a bit tricky to hose off, but they do clean up nicely.no fuzzy stuff, which I like because we have rainy summers, and that stuff takes forever to dry! I have a pair from last year, They show a bit of wear as loss of color in the material, but I have no doubt they will hold up for this summer. I'm going to phase out all my other boots and just use these on my boys. I do wish they were a bit taller.
Date published: 2018-05-20
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weird shape, rough fabric I ended up just sending these back, they really didn't conform to my horses legs like they would have needed to for me to feel comfortable with how stiff the fabric was. I was sure it was going to rub.
Date published: 2018-04-20
Rated 5 out of 5 by from These actually fit Ordered these for the color but was pleasantly pleased by the fit. They are leg shaped with a curve for the pastern. A touch shorter than I would like but stay up well and look great, not to mention they do the job! Must be comfortable because even when just applied my mare doesn't do the usual leg shake.
