I Expect Better from Cashel - Boots Drop and Rub
I bought the Warmblood and Draft sizes for my draft cross and draft horses according to the size chart. These boots lasted less than 2 weeks on my draft cross compared to other styles that lasted weeks but were too small. The boots do NOT stay up. They drop and hang about the fetlocks- they caused raw rubs on the front of my draft-cross' fetlocks on both hind legs. They fit my draft a little better, but they still fall down. The boots twist around on both horses so that the velcro is on the inside instead of staying on the outside. If only they would consider redesigning the boots to incorporate stays and a loose fit that would avoid the dropping, twisting and rubbing issues. I wanted to like these boots since they are a trusted brand and the boots are sized (supposedly) for warmbloods and drafts. However, I would NOT recommend them and will be looking for other options with stays and a loose fit that are big enough for my horses.

Will keep buying
I have been using these fly boots since 2018. My horse absolutely hates flies and was quickly loosening her shoes from stomping so much. These are now something we just can't live without!
These fly boots stay put and hold up pretty well. I originally bought the WB size due to my horse's height but they were a little too big on the front. She wears bell boots so that helped keep them up. I eventually got a second smaller set and used the WB size ones on the back. I have just replaced that original set of WB size boots this summer. My horse wears these 24/7 from May to October. I got two and a half summers out of the front set that I bought in 2019.
My favorite thing about these is that they come down over the top of the hoof. My horse has scratches over a large portion of her hind coronet bands and pasterns and these boots cover the area well. They are lightweight and don't seem to over heat her legs even in the hottest weather. They only have minimal lining in the fetlock area to prevent rubbing and the rest is mesh.

Disappointed - don't stay up and tore after a week
Don't stay up - they fall down and bunch around the fetlock. I measured to ensure I had the correct size but they can't get tight enough to stay up - and I don't think I'd want to make them that tight anyway. I also had one tear after just a week of use.

Foundation stock quarter horse.
I tried these boots because the Smartpak fly boots have been changed and no longer fit my old style quarter horse. These boots fit him perfectly in size cob. They are the correct length in the pastern and cannon bone. They are constructed correctly and last a long time. So glad I tried them. They are a very good product.

Fits great on horses with large fetlocks
I was having trouble finding fly boots that worked with my warmblood. He has very large fetlocks so none of the fly boots like shoo flys would work for him. He also has coronitis so I also needed to make sure his coronet band was covered as well. These are exactly what he needs. The hind boots tend to drop a bit but they still work great

Too snug for my saddlebred
The boots are well made and function as advertised, but my horse would not tolerate the snug fit. Sadly, I returned the item some time ago. FYI: I am a big fan of SmartPak and have been a faithful customer for many years.

Good fit!
I had purchased a bargain brand and although they help alleviate the flies biting my horses legs, they don't fit well and slip. I am quite pleased with the Cashel Fly Leg Guards, including price, how they are holding upa nd great fly protection.

They really work!
I've been using them on my mare for a few years, now. I'm so grateful for the relief from flies they provide my mare's legs.

Excellent fly protection
These are some of the best fly protection for the legs available. My horse was being eaten alive on his fetlocks even with fly spray. Just don't leave them on in the rain or they can chafe but in dry weather, the fit nicely, are easy to put on and take off and really protect the horse.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY!
Unfortunately I purchased these fly boots thinking they would be amazing. I was wrong. My horses actually hate them. They are super uncomfortable and bigger than a normal fit would be for horse size. My mare would actually go to the opposite side of her stall when she saw me walking in with these fly boots and normally she loves her boots!! I only gave them 2 stars because the color pink is pretty.

Great product at a great price
I bought these for our senior horses who the flies just love to bother. They are great quality, easy to clean and the orange color makes that super easy to spot if he loses one in the field. The only problem I had was they seemed to run larger than the measurements. My horse measured in the "Warmblood" size range, but they are a tad too big.

These are the best!
To be honest, this is my second pair of these boots. My first pair are 4 years old, and after much use one of the tabs pulled loose. While I had a friend stitch it , I had a coupon to use so decided to get a second pair, so now I have a spare! I got the cob size as my girl is dainty, and they fit perfectly. They stay up very well (I've seen reviews of others that don't) and soften up for comfort. Great product, great price!

Only last for about 3 days
I bought 4 pair of these for my horses and while I like the look and design of these boots, they completely tore apart within the first week. So I washed them and sewed them back together but they are trashed again and too ripped to be able to sew them up again. $26.99 for less than two weeks of use is a horrible waste of money and effort. My horses are usually NOT hard on fly boots so I blame Cashel for selling a poor product.

Best fly boots on market
These are the best fly boots available in the US. I bought "horse" size for a 16HH Appendix QH, and the fit is correct. What I like about the product is that it does not have boning (a plastic strip down the back to hold the boot up. The models with boning break apart and the plastic strip pokes out). Instead, this boot is designed better. It's two cylinders sewn together: a narrower one for the cannon area and a larger one for the fetlock/pastern area. All boots should be designed this way! My horse wears the boots 24/7 and lives outside. It is very hot and humid here (MD, USA), and he does well in them. After wearing them for weeks, he did develop mild rubs spots. However, I typically alternate these with the Smartpak Relaxed Fly Boot (big mesh tube) which also are great. When alternating (every week or so), I have no problem with rubbing. When I left them on without changing them for 2 weeks, he got some rub areas (not bad). I think that these are the best fly boots on the market in the US.

Good design and fit, questionable quality
I bought these boots (blue in horse size) because my 15h gelding has been chipping his hooves stomping due to flies. I like the color and fit of the boots and went with Cashel because they're a well known brand so I was hoping they would hold up. I had seen other people's year old boots and there were some tears but frankly that is to be expected with turnout. What was NOT expected was the top velcro pull (with Cashel logo) to pull off the boot on day 2. He got one day of use out of them before they broke? Not the quality I would expect and frankly that I paid for. Going to look into an alternative solution. Very disappointed all around.

Bad fly boot design
These costly fly boots are fitted over the hoof Worse fly boots ever, they fell apart. They did not cover to the knee, or hock. The fly boots torn apart in a few days and would fall down. Very expensive and will not ever buy them again.

Not a great fit
used on my 15.3hh Quarter Horse for 2 days before one fly guard fell off (they were on securely originally)....slid off while velcro'd. the next day it was off and one of the velcro pieces was torn off. The Shoofly brand works much and longer and you get 4 at a better price. Will be going back to those.

Nice fit, sturdy
I bought two brands of fly guards, and these seem to fit better, and a little sturdier. The velcro straps are not stretching out like the other brand. The small horse size fits my 14 - 2 hand horse, while regular horse size fits my 15 2 and 16 2 hand horses. They seem to be holding up pretty well.
