I am not sure what happened to my favorite boots
I am a bit heartbroken about this. In the last 30 days, I purchased my 5th pair of Ariat Terrain H2O boots. I have never found anything better to handle all the hard work of the barn. When people ask on FB sights what the best boots are for Equestrian work I always wax lyrical about the Ariat Terrain H2O boots. Then I bought this pair of boots. My heels have been blistered for the past 30 days. I have tried double socks to no avail. I had an especially long, hard barn day today and I can't tell you how blistered my feet are! My blisters have blisters. So, no more. I will have to wear my old boots and have wet feet until I can figure something else out. I don't know what Ariat did to my favorite boots, but they are not the same cut and quality as what I have been wearing for the past 15 years.

Comfortable and waterproof
I bought these a month ago because I needed a barn shoe with better arch support. These boots have been comfortable and supportive, definitely waterproof and I don’t need to change shoes if I want to get into the saddle.

Amazing boots for riding and walking
I bought these a few months ago to replace my old traditional paddocks. I am CONVERTED!! These are way more comfortable. I don't get any ankle or foot pain, even on ten mile trail rides. For me that's unheard of. They are super comfy. The leather is great. I clean then occasionally and condition them as well. It always goes back to looking new. I also spray it with Fiebing's waterproofing spray. I make sure to allow the spray to really get in the seams. My feet stay dry even when I'm feeding in rainstorms. I love these because I don't have to change out of my riding boots to put on comfier boots to do barn work in.

Comfy workboot
I bought these to wear as I work around the barn. After a day of break in they are awesome. My feet are always dry n comfortable, and if I have some free time, I can throw on a saddle and go without having to worry about changing my shoes.

Wonderful fit and love these boots!

Good boots
Run big. Haven't worn yet, was on backorder and had to exchange for smaller size. Previous Ariats were size 7.5 and 8. A size 7 may fit but after b/o and exchange I'll just keep the 7.5. Great sale price.

Comfortable and functional!
This is my 3rd pair! Only because I wear out a pair in a year. They are my everyday go-to boot. Perfect for doing chores then hopping on and going for a ride. Also came in handy when my horse fell ill and was unable to be ridden while on an all day trail ride. I had to walk him out of a steep rocky canyon....they suddenly became perfect hiking boots!

These are the same type I've bought before, but this pair made my foot feel compressed. Either my feet have grown a size (possible) or the quality of the boots has deteriorated.

Comfortable and waterproof with excellent traction
Bought these to wear around the barn and keep my feet dry. They're great. I really like that they are light and I don't feel like I'm wearing boots. Haven't ridden in them but they are my new favorite barn shoes.

Why did I wait so long to buy these?!
I have always seen people wearing these shoes and loving them, but I never took the plunge until recently. I am so happy that I did and wish I had gotten them much sooner. I ordered an 8.5. I am an 8-8.5 depending on the shoe, and wanted to be able to wear thicker socks in the winter. They fit really well and are super comfortable. Have worn them on 2 rides and they were great! I plan on hiking in them as well. For a multi purpose riding/hiking boot, you can't beat the price. And they really are waterproof. The copper color is a gorgeous reddish brown that will get darker with use. If you're on the fence, go ahead and buy these!

This is my third pair!
This is my third pair of these boots in 12 years. Great for doing barn chores and riding. The tread has enough traction so my foot stays securely in my stirrup. I mostly trail ride and when you have to dismount to clear the trail these are comfortable to walk around in.

Ankle support!
Although there was a mix-up about delivering the right color to me, Smartpak made it right. The best thing about these boots is that when I put my half-chaps on to ride in them, my leg, from knee to foot, is completely stabilized. My riding has improved because of this. I can especially feel this in my ankles. My leg feels like a supporting and stable aid.

Comfortable, rugged, and good looking!
I bought a pair of these for a non-horsey friend who does outreach work to homeless folks ( and their pets!) in her area. She is hiking out to camps several times per week in all kinds of weather, and is just thrilled with these boots. She has had them for about 8 months now, and reports that they are the most comfortable, durable set of boots she has ever owned. Thanks for helping to keep a hard working friend comfortable as she does some truly amazing work.

Extremely durable & comfortable!
Writing this review five months after purchase, because I'm going to buy a second pair!
I have worn these boots 12 hours/day, in all sorts of weather and footing, 6 days/week since the day they arrived in the mail. Every day, I have ridden in them, washed horses in them, mucked stalls in them, walked I don't know how many hundreds of miles in them, and they are juuuust now starting to show signs of wear. The waterproofing has held up beautifully through everything, they don't slip when you're walking on a wet/slimy surface, and they're really, really comfortable. There's some great arch support in there!
When I first got them I thought maybe they would be too bulky to ride in, but they're actually super comfortable and look really sporty under half chaps. I definitely feel "tougher" as a rider when I'm wearing these versus my tall boots!
Over the last week or so, there's about a dime-sized hole that's been opening up on my left boot where the shoe creases when I walk. Bound to happen at some point with all the abuse I put these things through, but it sucks because with a hole of any size the waterproofing on that boot is rendered pretty useless. Oh well! Time for another pair. :)

So glad I bought these Ariat boots!
I bought these boots to wear for a week at the WEG. I knew we would be walking a lot and it could rain so I wanted something comfortable and waterproof. I only got to wear them a couple of times before the trip but it didn't matter, they were comfortable from the start. We walked 5 to 6 miles daily, super hot weather, and rain. Perfect! Now at home I'll wear them in and around the barn rather than my muck boots all the time. Much more comfortable!

Still love them, 4 years later!
I have had these boots for four years and I wear them whenever I work at the barn in bad weather conditions. Good (not great) foot support, I add some gel insoles. They are still almost entirely waterproof after lots of wear over the past four years.

They are my all time boot for training, teaching lessons, endurance riding, and especially Ride & Tie's! They are the perfect combination of riding boots and hiking boots. Highly recommend!

My feet are singing!
I teach lessons and ride horses all day, and have been doing so in my paddock boots for years. I finally decided to join the bandwagon and buy a pair of these boots and man! I took my paddock boots off and pulled these on as soon as they arrived and my feet are in heaven! The fit is wonderful, they're narrow enough to fit in my regular stirrups, and the support while walking through an uneven arena or along rocky trails is awesome. I've found my new daily footwear!

My mom loves these!
So my aunt trail rides in these, and my trainer wears these to give lessons. My mom has expressed some interest in learning to ride so I bought her a pair of these. She loves them. I don't know if she'll actually ride in them but she says they are so comfortable and supportive and she loves the look of them (she's a big fan of Merrils and Keens). She has nearly constant foot pain and says every shoe hurts her foot but so far these have been great for all of her outdoor adventures! As I've found with my Ariat's, I sized down a half size for her from an 8 to a 7.5 and she says they fit great.
