Rub again ankles not comfortable at all.
Rub against my ankles . I bought a pair a couple of years ago that did this so badly I could not wear them. You obviously have changed how they are made from years ago when they were totally comfortable and lasted for multiple years. I now have to cut the elastic to even tolerate them. I can not wear for any length of time. This will be the last pair I ever buy and they SO, SO expensive for this to continue to be an issue.

Comfortable boot- not waterproof
Perhaps it is my mistake for thinking that waterproof actually means waterproof? They were great for about a month and then water started seeping in. I applied a high quality natural leather weatherproofing product which helped for about a week. I’ve found it necessary to reapply every week. There doesn’t appear to be any tears or breaks in the seams, so I can only imagine the leather is not of very high quality. I don’t wear them in super wet conditions but I do need to walk through dewy cut grass each morning and the toes get wet- this is enough to soak into the inside and it takes days for them to dry out. I would expect more for the price. They are very comfortable and would be a great boot for super dry conditions when you don’t want to worry about the occasional splash here and there. But, they are NOT waterproof.

BEST BOOT EVER
I play polo and work in the barn 24/7. I wanted a boot that could withstand barn chores but I could also easily hop on and ride in. These boots came on a Sautrday night and the next day I wore them for the first time for over 16 hours on my feet grooming at a tournament. I didn't break them in AT ALL before and I came home with happy feet, zero blisters and zero complaints. I usually wear a 9.5-10 and the 9.5 fits great with a relatively thicker sock. They are also really comfy to ride in with the spur rests and rubber heel and soles.

Poor quality...a first for me with Ariat
I initially thought that this waterproof Barnyard TWIN Gore II paddock boot would be a great alternative. I had purchased 2 pairs in September, 2023, one for myself and one for my twin sister. They did not last 6 months. The leather began cracking in less than 3 months. The leather has broken away from the sole. My sister and I have always cleaned and dressed our boots after each wear. These were a great disappointment, my Heritage and Devon pro boots have lasted YEARS!

My favorite daily ranch boot is Barnyard Twin Gore
The Barnyard Twin Gore ll Waterproff was comfortable for everyday use from day 1. It has a wide toe box and easy to slip on even with orthotics but does not slide around when you walk. Good traction sole. Fits just like the Ariat Barn Boot without a zipper.

Sturdy, solid boot!
At first, I wasn’t sure about the fit and my feet were sore/rubbing for a couple days, but once they broke in, I took them on a hike and they felt great. Gave me good stability on uneven terrain, felt solid and grippy on rocks and my feet were happy at the end of a long day of walking. The instep is high which is important for me. The width is normal- not too narrow but wish they came in wide. If they had come in a wide I would have been a half size down from my usual 7&1/2. I probably could have gone with a 7 if I planned to only wear thin socks but alas, winter is a reality here and I hope they last. Waterproofing is great so far. Easy to slip on and off. Not too hot. Overall a really nice boot. I hope they hold up.

Perfect out of the box
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These boots were perfect right out of the box. No break in time and very waterproof so far. They go with everything. I have had them for approximately two months wearing every day all day and they are not getting stinky. Previous boots get that mildew smell.
These are amazing. I bought a second pair for going out boots. My current pair is for working in the barn yard gardening and overall daily chores.
I may even buy a third pair just so I have a back up of a back up. 😀
I got a 7.5 and the fit is right on point.

Not sure how to rate them!
Bought these boots in February. I wear them to them to the barn to ride and do all of my barn work. They look like I've had them 3 years doing hard labor not almost 3 months in a private barn! 3 stars because they are comfortable and fit true to size! Hope they hold up for the price!

Not True to Size
They are comfortable and get the job done. But are WAY too big; NOT true to size. I typically wear a 9.5 in all other brands, but the 9.5 is large and my foot slides. Too much of a Hassel to return them, I just wear super thick socks.

I have had these boots for 3 weeks now. I wore them for hose testing as a fireman day one and put in 6 solid miles on concrete, then again another 6 the next day cutting trails on my farm. They broke in without blisters and are very water tight.

Comfy right out of the box
Great boots! Roomy and soft yet waterproof. Love the tabs at the back that make them so easy to put on. I can leave my spurs on and still slip easily into and out of these boots. I’ve been a Terrain fan for years but these are even quicker on/off. A new favorite!

Great, comfy, waterproof
These boots are amazing. I bought them for work (environmental consultant) and to be able to ride afterwards. I broke these boots in at the Midwest West Horse Fair where I averaged 30,000 steps a day for 4 days on concrete - no blisters and comfy. I also bar tend and wear these boots standing for 10 hours on concrete and no sore legs and feet! Run a little large, wish I got a half size smaller.

Sexist sizing options
Between the men’s (D width) and women’s (B width) I need the men’s width with the shape of the women’s version. I ordered both and the men’s fit better but my feet look like BOATS because of the internal heel height and shape of the boot from the shaft to the toe. For the love of all things boots PLEASE MAKE MORE OPTIONS FOR WIDER WIDTHS IN WOMENS SIZE BOOTS!

My boots lasted 10 years!

My favorite boots in the world but I am still sad
I have been purchasing these specific boots for over 15 years. In the early years, they would last me 3-5 years - I know because of how many pairs I still have in my closet. Since 2020 though, the production and manufacturing must have changed either to a new factory or the materials cheapened because they have, consistently, failed at the 1 year mark each year. Where my break over is in my toe area, the back and forth crunching of leather/rubber over time is weakening that spot and caused separation of the sole and upper leather portion. This has happened on each pair I have bought since 2020 in the SAME place. Something has to change Ariat, you can do better! I will say, the 2nd star is given because your product team finally widened/softened the upper ankle portion so the first 10 times I wear them, I don't cry in pain. They now come broken as far as that cuff area goes. Thank you for this. But the construction and quality of the adhesion to the sole needs looked at. As someone who works in manufacturing, this is clearly a design or materials issue. I wear these boots every day and my feet love them, I want to keep buying them but am now finally looking at other brands.

BETTER THAN BLUNDSTONES!
My whole family (and barn friends) rave about blundstones, and they never worked for me. But I wanted a durable, low boot for barn chores and barn days I wasn't riding. These are INCREDIBLE. They are so comfortable I never want to take them off. Thick squishy tread (usually I like a thinner sole, but these are great). No break in period required. I'm a true 9.5 and the 9.5 fit perfect. THANK YOU Ariat for not only making half sizes, but a comfortable boot with a roomy toe box and a perfect fit. 10/10

Great Boot!
I’ve now had these for a year and a half and I love them! They are my go to boot for chores and doing ground work (I do not ride in them). They’re comfy, tough, and I never get water in them! We’ve cleaned out flooded stalls and STILL completely dry socks! Well worth the money! I do have odors with the sizing of all Ariat boots, 7 is too small and 7.5 is a bit big, so i just added a sock liner insole as I do with all of them.
