Ariat® Performer Pro VX Paddock Boot is rated 4.4286 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Comfortable This boot is very soft and comfortable from the second you put it on. The leather feels high quality and the waterproof feature is a plus. It also has a very comfortable and supportive footbed. I'd say if you're generally between sizes, size down. I'm a 7.5-8 and the 7.5 fits well even with thick socks on. Another thing is this boot is great of you have wide feet. I always ave problems with shoes being too tight around the ball of my foot but these have plenty of room. Overall seems like a quality, comfortable boot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just one small, very annoying thing I've been riding in the performer pros since I started back raiding in 2009. I love the fit and the support. My first pair were laces and then I went to zips after I wore holes into the first pair. The second pair are still in decent condition, but I recently sprained my ankle and wanted the extra support I could get from a laceup. After much searching (my size is backordered everywhere until August) I finally found my size and snapped them up because I knew they would fit and I love this boot.So when I started wearing them, I was surprised that they had changed how the tongue is attached to the boot. Instead of being free on both sides- like it was in my first pair and attached on one side like it was in my zips, it now is sewn to both sides and folds back under itself when you lace up the boot. As a result, you get two bumps on the side that sort of dig into your foot. I'm hoping that as the boot wears in this will go away, but for the meantime, it is VERY uncomfortable. I'm not sure why they would do this - it doesn't seem like a very smart way to design a boot. THe only thing I can think of is that it is supposed to keep water out - but this isn't a waterproof boot, so I can't see why you would sacrifice the comfort of the boot, which is its main selling point and the reason I'm willing to sell out $50-$75 more for this model over the lower level models. :(Otherwise, it's a great boot and I love it, but this might be a deal breaker - and not one I really can do anything about since I really didn't notice it until I had worn the boot to the barn.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too clunky for me I am a big fan of Ariat boots, but returned this one. It was very heavy and clunky. I have the Heritage III Series, in both regular and insulated models, and needed to replace my regular pair for the warmer weather. I ordered the Ariat Performer and hope it will be lighter and easier to move in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a good fit! I have been wearing Ariats forever and when a complete stranger came up to me in the market and remarked that "Those boots have seen better days" I realized it was time to replace the last pair. But then the problems started. I couldn't get the same fit I had had in the zipper version. I had to order and return more than several pairs before I decided to try the lace ups. Love them. And they give me all the right support.
