Good for entry level
These are great for beginners they don't scuff too much, nice shiny leather (not as nice quality), seemed easy to break in, and are well-ventilated (not waterproof). I didn't end up getting these due to the laces being very thin, not having comfortable insole (would recommend putting in a nicer one), and being too large in the ankle that when I lace up there wasn't enough room to make them any tighter. Which would suck once the leather expands and conforms to my foot. I could maybe have done the 8.5 but I have very long narrow feet. Still a great boot if you're not looking for anything fancy with still good quality.

Love these boots!
Got these for a trip to Europe. They are my third pair, third color. Well, I have my riding pair, my brown ones and my black! They are so comfortable I can walk for days in them. They dress up and they dress down.

Why do I need a nickname from
Finally — just wide enough
Ariat makes quality products; they have done for a years. I have recently reached “middle age” and gotten back into my childhood passion of horse ownership. The trouble is my middle-aged feet are wider than my childhood feet, and I’m MUCH less tolerant to pain. For the past few months, I’ve been making do with an old pair of Justin paddock boots, which appear to have been discontinued. Local tack shops have failed me in terms of boot width and comfort, so I had to find something online. Based on other reviews, I got these lace-up (for increased flexibility of width) paddock boots in wide, one half size up. I am STOKED that they don’t cause me pain! My only issue is I’d love some more cushion in the solefor added comfort. Ariat, reach beyond “it doesn’t hurt” and provide some actual comfort in a boot, would ya!

Comfortable and Stylish
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these boots for a business trip, and I found myself dreading breaking them in beforehand. But I was happily surprised. These boots are the most comfortable pair I have ever owned (and look great-- got plenty of compliments). I walked about 5 miles a day during the first week of wearing them and had no comfort issues. They also kept my feet warm and dry through rain and snow. I am forever an Ariat fan and will never buy another brand.

Always loved Ariat but these boots are terrible!
This is the stiffest leather I had ever had. I have been wearing Ariat lace paddock boots for years and my last pair is 4 years old (Heritage waterproof lace up) so I went to replace them. Do NOT buy these boots. I had the worst blisters of my life in 10 minutes from these. I had to take them off immediately and thankfully SmartPak is taking them back. I'm going to order the Ariat Nitro instead.

Great Product for a Great Price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent quality leather that looks great. This is my second pair (my first one lasted almost 3 years) and I LOVE these boots. The look great under half chaps and are super durable. They do not scuff easily, which is great when you use them often. The laces also allow them to be super flexible and supportive, which improves my leg position and reduces the ankle pain I would get with zipped paddock boots. I would recommend getting the boots in wide if you have wide feet because the normal size is a little snug.

Causes blisters
The shoe is uncomfortable and hasn’t broken in after over a month of wearing them daily. The lining on the heel which is supposed to be for “comfort” is made of some weird material that leaves blisters on heels. I am forced to buy some heel paddings and spend even more money. I cannot believe o spent so much on these shoes I expected better quality. After a week of wearing them literally to just walk, the leather gets chipped! Aren’t these boots meant for people working and horseback riders? They can’t even withstand someone walking! I’m so sad I spent so much money on a pair of shoes that causes pain and discomfort. The only nice thing I can say about them is that they’re pretty. But not for long with how easily they scuff and chip. Very very very disappointed and feel as though I’ve wasted my money.

Super comfortable and look great too
These may be the most comfortable footwear I have ever owned. I am typically a 7 with a wider foot—the 7 wide fit me perfectly. I bought it specifically for riding lessons that I just started but find myself wearing them many other places because they look great and are so comfortable! Looking forward to more Ariat purchases in the future!

fit problem
Probably these boots would have been great, but I have recently had surgery on my foot which has made fitting more challenging. With other shoes, I'm fine with a lace-up so I can leave the laces looser to avoid pressure on the surgical site. Unfortunately, these boots were tight at the base of the tongue of the boot, so I couldn't get my foot into the shoe even though they would have fit if I could have. Very disappointed. I'll need to try on some to find something that will work for me.

Worth the price if you have the money.
Looks great feels good. Excellent traction. One thing though it the stitching at toes is already coming apart. Sad to need boot glue within a few weeks of wear. But will still buy again. My favorite boot/shoe company!

These boots lived up to the description. They needed very little time to break in. I wear them all day long. The uppers seem to be of quality leather and the dark brown color is perfect. The soles are soft and flexible.

Comfortable and Tough Enough to Wear All Day Long
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are my second pair of Heritage boots. My last pair were the Heritage 3 Paddock Boots, which I only replaced because the toe seam on both boots popped. The theme popping was not a quality issue, but a size issue. I decided to go up to the wide size in these boots. They really stand up to a lot of wear and tear as I wear them most days often for many hours working on various things around the barn. Great in the saddle or on the ground. I expect to replace these with the next generation of Heritage Paddock Boots that are available whenever these give out, which I don’t expect to be anytime soon. All the quality I expect from Ariat.
