Works, if it stays in one piece
The Amigo Bug Buster fly sheet is made better than others I have seen, but it still ripped after only 5 days. The horse that wears it is NOT hard on blankets or sheets, so I am pretty disappointed that it is already 'damaged.' It really does repel flys, even the small biting flies that make my mare incredibly itchy. I also do not like that the front chest buckles are not adjustable. That part hangs too low on her and it would be nice to snug it up some to fit her chest better. Overall, it's OK, it works, but I won't buy another after this one is beyond repair.

bug out!
I was very happy with this sheet. I bought it last summer for my black and white paint gelding. The sun fades his black out to brown without added protection. This sheet not only did a superior job of protecting him from flies, he kept his beautiful black coat. It also helped keep him clean. It is a soft fabric, and Coy loves to roll. I was worried it wouldn't hold up. After a whole summer of wear, it only had two tiny snags, which were barely noticeable. It also washes up nicely. Word to the wise....when you wash it, make sure the velcro fasteners are pressed together tightly or they will catch on the sheet. I highly recommend this product, and will be ordering more for my two new kids!

bug buster- survived horse play
Bought one last year after my mare had issues with a big bug getting under her other fly sheet (talk about hysterics) Loved it- let my gelding who gets welts use it, and boys being boys, the other geldings managed to remove it without tearing or unbuckling anything. He destroyed his other brand- so the mare will get the new one, and he can get her old one next season! (Both are 17+ h light warmbloods)

Disappointing
Disappointing for the price. Really doesn't fit that well, and the velcro looses its kick after about a month. Have a mare who will rub her belly/neck raw from the bugs, and itch on everything. This doesn't make a difference, shes the same as before, even with fly spray sprayed underneath. Belly band isn't snug, and bugs easily get underneath the entire thing.
Don't waste over $100 on this sheet, its no better then the rest!

A big disappointment
I ordered this product hoping it would help my very sensitive horse with his black fly allergy. They bite his chest and he rubs himself raw. I was looking for a solution to pesticides. Unfortunately, the sheet does not fit high enough and only covers half his chest. You have to use the neck sleeve with it to have full coverage. Now that would be fine except that the material does not breath enough and he sweats when the weather is hot. Back to the sprays and salves.

Do not waste your money
My gelding wore this in a turnout situation for 2 weeks. Multiple holes and tears, very delicate fabric. Velcro stuck to itself everywhere it is worn out and frayed after 2 weeks. currently in a wad in the garage, how do you correctly dispose of insecticide treated fabric? A waste of money, back to Baker brand I go...

Life saver
I have battled insects for 3 years with my horse and she is very allergic to bites. She is usually covered with open sore anyplace I can't keep her covered from June until frost. I've had the fly sheet three weeks and there are very few new bites and the old ones are healing. The only thing that I'm not thrilled about is the fit on her belly. It's really big and I have to fold it under and then strap it, and believe me, she's not a thin horse. But for the bugs it has really helped.

The Best Fly Sheet Known to the Horse World
I absolutely love this fly sheet. It is actually the third sheet of this type & brand that I have bought and the other two are still in working order. The oldest one is about 4 years old and has endured everything well.
I will use the newest sheet for my "show sheet" to protect my girl from "show flies"! Fits extremely well and does its job, when all the other horses are hopping around because of flies, my girl is as calm as can be.

Great Fly Sheet
This is a wonderful item. I didn't expect it. It has really helped keep nasty biting flys off and also reduced the gnat irritation for my horse. I was a skeptic about all of the straps, but it stays on just fine. Also, it has kept my dark horse a lot cooler!

Great for thin skinned horses!
My Morgan is very sensitive to any/all bugs and was very unhappy in turnout until he got the bug buster. Now he is happy and enjoys turnout again!

HOT And Sweaty!!
This expensive fly sheet does a good job repelling flies, but it is extra HOT. My horse would come in from wearing it dripping wet with sweat. Also, holes appeared after the third time out. I might as well put a light blanket on him for all the sweating!
I'm looking for another sheet that will allow air flow. I very upset at the high price. Do Not Buy!!!

I like this fly sheet. My horse gets big welts whenever he is biten by any kind of flies. This sheet covers him better than others I have used and he relaxes right away when I put it on him. In my opion if my horse likes it, I like it. It fits him well and stays in place. It is a little tedious to get everything buttoned, but that is a small price to pay for his relief from summer's bug bites.

My horse was extremely hot in this blanket unlike other fly sheets he has used. I also feel the amount of velcro was a detriment to the product as it made it very easy to get snags and pulls (even came with two already in it).

Mane and Tail saver!
This is the the third summer I have purchased this product and will continue to do so until they find a cure for "summer itch". My mare is allegric to gnats and though there is no way to keep them all away this product does the best job. Previously she would rub out her entire mane and upper tail because she was so bothered by the little devils. While wearing this sheet that is no longer a problem! Love it.

The fit on this one is a little skimpier than two of the same size purchased last year. The belly band is smaller and the tail strap is shorter. I would buy the next size up in the future.

Good product for money
I have bought cheaper fly sheets and they rub the hair off of his shoulders. This fly sheet has nylon to protect the rub and this fly sheet is soft and appears to be very cool. We have a big problem with horse flies and this blanket seems to be thick enough where the horse flies can't bite thru but thin enough to use in south Louisiana weather

Just as expected
My horse has been wearing this for about a week, and I'm happy with the purchase. The sheet is very soft, but seems to be holding up well. To be fair, he is in solo turnout so he isn't too hard on his clothes.
As to fit, it hangs down quite low around the legs, and is a bit tight around the mid-section The low hanging pieces help keep flies off the legs. I bought the same size that my horse wears in Rambo and Amigo blankets and sheets. It fits just a bit smaller than his other clothes, but I don't think I could go up a whole size either.

i love this sheet!!
i have owned this sheet for 3 years, it is the only thing that works against the bugs. I have 5 horses on 5 acres, 3 Tbs and 2 QS. my big Tb wears this day in and day out, there is not one tear. This is amazing to me, because he goes through blankets like they are candy.
I am about to purchase my second one, for my Tb mare. She is hypersensitive to the bugs, and becomes covered in hives. She tore up the rambo sheet that i had on her after one week. This sheet was previously hers, and although she is thin skinned, we never had a problem with rubs to tears.
I would recommend this sheet to anyone who wants great UV and Bug protection, because it just simply works>

Lasted 1 week!
I bought this fly sheet for my 20 yr old senior citizen who had previously never torn up a blanket or sheet, regardless of how thin or flimsy it might be. She wore this about 1 week before she came in with both chest straps torn off and the sheet hanging around her belly. The material is so soft and gauzy that it creates a lot of static, and migrates backward getting hung up on the withers, creating a tremendous amount of pressure on the chest straps. You can see the fabric stretched to the ripping point just with the horse walking around normally. I want sheets that "float" over the topline, not getting hung up in the hair. With this sheet, you could see thousands of hairs sticking straight up through the mesh. She has Cushings and her hair is a bit fluffier even in summer, so perhaps if your horse had a very tight, slick show coat you might have better results? I might buy one of these again on clearance sale to keep as an emergency backup, but definitely wouldn't rely on it for my daily, hard-use sheet.

Decent Product - Great Idea - BUT...
I like the lightweight material and it does repel the bugs. I do spray it with anti-chew spray since I think it can tear more easily than other products. But alas, the neck piece does not fit as well as it could. It seems that whatever manufacturer makes a neck cover, they have been unable to find someway to have it stay right behind the ears and around the throat without impeding the comfort and movement of the horse. My hose has sweet itch and I bought this to prevent him from scratching his mane with his hind foot. It has worked a little but a better fit would have convinced me to buy another, which I will not.

Not tough enough!
I own a 13 year old thoroughbred who goes out and plays with his friends, he's a little rough on his blankets but not exceptionally so. This sheet is just not holding up! The velcro catches and sticks to the fabric creating little tears. I've already had to sew up three rips in the body in only 3 weeks. I had a baker fly sheet and that has lasted three years with only one surcingle breaking and no tears at all. This sheet is probably only good for horses that go out alone or stay in their stalls, not for horses playing all day. It does have really nice coverage and does it's job, if only it were tougher.

Not one bug bite
My mare has allergies to mosquito bites and since purchasing this fly sheet I have not found one angry looking mosquito caused welt. It did tear a bit on the tail section on the first day outside. But so far no more damage. I love it and so does she !

Works, but with caveats
This sheet definitely keeps the bugs off, although I don't know how much is due to the insect shield in the fabric versus the fact that you can barely see the horse under the sheet. My horse looks like she should be carrying a knight from the Middle Ages when she's turned out in her Bug Buster. My only problem with the sheet is that the fabric is quite heavy, so you wouldn't want to leave it on 24/7 or use it on a horse turned out in the hot summer sun. My horse wears it at night and still gets pretty sweaty under it. It also rubs the chest a bit, even though it's lined (this is on a large WB). However, if you're dealing with a major bug problem--we have killer mosquitoes--this is a good option.

Love This Fly Sheet
This fly sheet is fantastic. It's cool and comfortable and fits nicely. It doesn't have leg straps but even without them, it doesn't shift. I love the way the neck piece attaches right to the sheet. The fabric is lightweight so comfortable in hot weather and it does keep the flies away, especially those pesky horse flies.
It seems to snag easily as others have mentioned but that's the only drawback I can see.

The fly sheet is good, fits well. It does not have leg straps, only a strap that runs under the tail. Leg straps would be better.
I believe it is over priced. My experience with the bug shield says that it does not last as long as they claim but it does seem to work well at first.

Great protection!
I got this for my elderly Belgian mare, who is tormented by biting insects. It works great; she got instant relief. She used to hang back in her stall refusing to go out, but she no longer resists daytime turnout. I leave it on for days at a time as she also wanders out at night, and she is able to move freely, including laying down regularly. Yes, it is pricey, but worth every penny and the workmanship is top notch.
