Wanted to love them; Nope.
Tried two pair. Ordered my usual Euro size in a 41, sizing UP, in essence, from my TRUE 9 1/2 foot - it's always gotta be either up or down w/these whole sized things for me being a half sizer - to the "10" and they were about a full size too small, all around. Foot was short, snug, a little tight in the instep, VERY tight beneath the ball of my foot and even a tad narrow - but JUST a tad - for my B width. Fit was good around the ankle and the shorter *mid* height really was ok - not loose, not snug. Coulda been a little wider, though, truth be told. Sooooo...Sent them back - seamless return/refund process, mind you! Yay, Smart Pak! - and received a size 42 which fit fine but wasn't ever going to be a truly comfortable boot once "broken in" though they were nice enough outta the box. I'd say a true 9.5 to almost 10 with the 42, if you're gonna order. The materials at this price point were about as expected to slightly under snuff - cheap leather foot - more like trim leather than boot leather - and the detail work on the uppers was awful: ragged, crooked, shoddy even - just absolutely detracting from the clean, classic design I was after without playing this sizing roulette with a 500.00 pair of Dubarrys that I understand can no longer be "refreshed" or serviced for US customers as before. Perhaps I'm wrong THERE, but the point is I was after a more realistic price point and reasonably better-built boot for 139.00...which is honestly the average price of a decent 3 season rubber boot which generally run a rough 120-180 bucks. I wasn't expecting luxury - wanted a boot I could wear around the place here and into town now and then - but the cheap leather and awful trim put me off. Back to the drawing board, and the process of growing my considerable "barn and chicken boot" collection...but without this one. 40 yard fakeout. I coulda kept them and lived with them, talked myself out of looking at the shoddy detail work on the shafts every time I pulled them on - but at this stage in the game, and knowing ME - well, I'm really into stuff I love. Didn't love. No opportunity to wear them out into the wild and woolly Winter Mess --- so no idea how the hold up or if the insole situation I've been reading about has been resolved or is, indeed, an anomaly and we're just hearing about the few incidents and not the many that remained intact. :)

Too Wide
I wanted to like these as you can't beat the price and I like that they're short. However, because of the width, I had to send them back. Wish you had these in slims like the Dubarry Galway slim fit boot.

Very Comortable
I bought these for my mom to work around her new farm and she loves them! She has tried tall country boots before and said they are always tight around her calves even after breaking in, so she likes that these are shorter but still taller than paddock boots in case of water. Will update if any complaints, but so far she says its a great gift.

Buy These!
I’ve been wearing these boots every day since I bought them. They’re comfortable, stylish, and keep my feet dry walking in wet fields. They didn’t require much break-in time. I wear 8-1/2 and the 39s fit perfectly. The toe box has plenty of room. I got these for only $85 on a great sale. I don’t know how they will hold up, but so far I’m really pleased with my purchase and highly recommend!

My Favorite Barn Boot!
These are my barn boots! I love them for their style, comfort and ability to go from barn to errands! They are comfortable for all day/all year wear and are stirrup friendly for riding (though this style isn't quite as tall as a traditional tall boot). From bathing, mud, puddles, shavings and all other things found at the barn - these have proved durable and have lasted. I clean mine up with just typical leather cleaner and a sponge. If you are in search of a more budget friendly country boot then these are for you!
