Peace of mind
I use ulcerguard when hauling and competing even though my horse does not have ulcers. One dose per day gives me peace of mind that I’m doing all I can to help keep stressful situations comfortable for my horses!

Great product
When I bought my horse 15 months ago and moved her to a new boarding facility she developed GI ulcers. I needed to move again so I started Ulcerguard several days prior to moving my mare to her new stable. She went from no grass to full grass pasture so I was worried. We did a slow grass introduction over 2 weeks. She transitioned and no GI issues this time thanks to Ulcerguard.

Works great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used UlcerGard to treat and prevent ulcers on a mare that was naturally very nervous and prone to ulcers. I saw improvement within the first week of treatment. Although it may be pricey to use as treatment, it is effective and worth the money!

SmartPak was great to work with as always!
The vet ended up being unable to order IM omeprazole for me (back ordered for weeks) so i ended up in a pinch needing this quickly and having no local options to pick some up (i'd already bought it all LOL). SmartPak made it happen and got it to me just in time! So glad this company is so great to work with, and offers one of the best prices available for this product unless you're buying huge quantities. The ONLY negative thing I'll say is that the packaging for the 6-pack is a bit wasteful - just 6 individually packaged boxes inside a larger box. But perhpas that's the only way Merial produces them?

Who wants to deal with ulcers?
Every now and then, I have to give my gelding a dose or two of an NSAID. When I do, I always make sure I have some Ulcergard on board. Who wants to deal with ulcers? I know I can rely on Ulcergard to deliver the right dose of omeprazole to help keep ulcers away. And it's really easy to add a tube or two to my Smartpak autoship!

I recently moved barns and got this as a preventative, and my horse seems to have weathered the stress just fine.

Great for traveling
Great for horse showing! Traveling/trailering. Amazing how expensive it is when it’s just ompemprozol (do)

Ulcergard
I use this on my mare, when we are getting ready to travel, while we are away from home. She has not had any issues since we do this. No belly pain or excess flatulence .

Horses loves the taste
I bought this for an OTTB to treat for ulcers. My horse loves the taste which makes it easy to administer. It’s a little pricey but seems to be really helping.

Worth the effort
I use this, half a tube on shipping day, a quarter for 2 more days, when I sell a horse and it changes farms. Seems to prevent gastric upset and stress.

FAST Delivery
Wow Smartpak! Ordered on Thursday evening and delivered by Monday (of a holiday weekend). Hoping that this helps clear up my horse’s minor ulcers. Only reason for 4 stars is because he has not received a full month worth of treatment.

Must have for the OTTB
Our girl gets nervous and is prone to ulcers. We give her this product for a few days before a show and a day or so after she returns to the farm.

Awesome product!
My boy has a history of ulcers. After being diagnosed and subsequently treated with Ulcergard, I had him scoped. The results showed lots of healing tummy tissue! YAY Ulcergard! After using UlcerGard to heal them up, I continue to give him a dose during higher stress periods like during competitions, hauling, when he's on stall rest, and intense training.UlcerGard is a great product, and my horse likes it. It's always in my kit.

I bought this product cause my horse was having loose stools and my vet suggested trying it. It is not helping as I had hoped. It was recommended to my by the nice folks at Smartpak to use the Smart Gut Ultra along with the ulcerGard. Not seeing any change yet. It's a very expensive product so I was hoping it would help her more than it did.

Great Preventative!
We use UlcerGard during show season when traveling to help prevent ulcers in my horse, who has a known ulcer history. His behavioral changes, noted in reduced girthyness and kicking, tell us it works for him! My horse doesn't mind the taste either!

Can cause hind gut acidosis--careful!
This is a drug--it has drawbacks. By shutting down acid production your horse may wind up with partially in digested food entering the hindgut where it continues to break down--almost a rotting process. The hind gut flora population changes to accommodate and, wham, your horse develops hind gut acidosis--not diagnosable via scoping. So then one has to use buffered sodium bicarbonate (equisure) and smart gut to get the hindgut back to the correct pH. Ask me how I know this.....
lots of "ulcers" are actually hind gut acidosis in the first place for that matter--wherein ulcerguard is useless or even harmful in the first place.
So use this stuff sparingly and carefully -- best to get stomach scoped to be certain one is treating the right problem (stomach full of ulcers? Here's what worked for us: use a course of ulcerguard then stop and treat with equisure and smartgut.... We travelled a loooong road to discover the ulcerguard that had successfully the stomach ulcers then had set him up for hind gut acidosis--pony developed terrible cinchiness and bit his sides and cried out. That time ulcerguard made zero difference. Only gradually taking him off ulcerguard and a smart vet who put him on the buffered sodium bicarbonate and probiotics (smartgut) saved our guy's life.)

Great product!
I bought this product to help my horse with show stress and the constant moving into different environments. Thus far, she has been comfortable and has no digestive issues. I would strongly recommend this to anyone taking their horse to different places for trails, or someone who shows heavily.

Best price!
Severe issues had my gelding on omeprazole for over a month. I saved significant $$$ over the clinic price of $45.50/tube. I always check smartpak first!

Buy ulcergard from another vendor
I purchased this from Smartpak thinking the expedited shipping would help get the product to my gelding who was being treated for ulcers. It took 2 weeks to reach the trainer's facility so I had to purchase about 10 says worth at a much higher cost from another source. I'll never again but a product from Smartpak that I can get someplace else.

I've always used Ulcergard at shows, otherwise my mare goes off her grain completely. After a recent bout of ulcers, it's guaranteed I won't travel without it.

I recently won an ULCER Guard at an APHA show and tried it on my horse. It made such a difference that I purchased some from SmartPak and my horse is really responding well to it.
