Good results!
Once we get snow my horse spends too much time licking it up and not drinking from his heated water bucket. He won’t eat his grain if I just ad regular salt to it, but he cleans up the smartSalt pellets no problem. It gets him to drink much better!

Smells good
I bought in prep of summer, gave my horse to see if he would eat them and he gobbled it right up. Hopefully these help keep him drinking lots of water this summer!

Horse Refuses to Eat
The horse I bought this for refuses to eat it. Not even the tiniest bit. Not even with peppermint Equi Sweet on top. Thankfully my other horse will eat them so they aren’t being wasted. Going to try SmartLytes and see if she finds them acceptable.

Not sure if it's helping...
I got this supplement to get my mare to drink more water throughout the winter. She's been on it for over two months, but I don't think she's drinking any more then she usually did. I might try without it and see if it does make a difference.

#1 supplement in my SmartPaks
My horse refused salt licks, loose salt, powdered electrolytes, salty treats etc. his whole life. He needed sodium in his system, and syringing it down his throat everyday was not a great idea. I discovered SmartSalt, hid it in his daily grain, and he eats it with no problem. He has even started sweating normally again, and stopped licking dirt. After being on it for two months, I noticed the salt block that has been hanging untouched for years was licked on. SmartSalt has showed him how yummy salt really is, and he wants more. What a goober.

It works
This is an easy way to make sure my 4 mares are getting enough salt, especially during these hot summer days. I worry that they don't lick the salt block enough. Plain salt sifts through their pellets. But, they eat the SmartSalt pellets readily.

A bit too much.
I purchased this along with probiotics to go in Lacey’s Devils Claw. This has been helping to avoid colic problems she had been having in the winter time. 2 cube allotment is difficult to get her to eat any of her pellets. So reduced to giving her only one with the rest of her stuff and she now eats everything and hasn’t been colicky at all!

No measuring
I have been using SmartSalt for a few years. Both horses eat it willing and it has increased their water consumption. Very happy with this product.

Great idea
Best idea as looise salt sifts through grain and sits in the feeder. But my horse who is not a picky eater wouldn't eat them.

Not the best
When I bought this I was using loose salt from the grocery salt which made my boy drink during the day. Once I switched him to these because of the palatability, he stopped drinking as much. He did eat them which I was proud of, but I don’t think it was enough salt to make him want to drink which I really need him to do considered he’s a sweater and I like in Florida!

Great pellets!
My mare is a bit of a princess, and never liked any kind of salt blocks. Not plain white, not red of any size, not himilayan, and not redmond rocks. She leaves plain salt at the bottom of her ration balancer, so it's hard to make sure she gets enough salt. After moving to MO and her sweating in her stall just standing, I knew it was important to make sure she actually gets salt. Thanks to these she happily eats her salt pellets mixed with her ration balancer and I don't have to worry anymore!

Great winter support
SmartSalt Pellets are an important part of my horse’s winter supplement program. In the summer, I give him SmartLytes Pellets, which include salt and other important nutrients that are lost in sweat. In the winter, he sweats a lot less but I still want to make sure that he’s meeting his minimum salt requirements. Providing salt also helps to support normal hydration, which is key during the wintertime. I used to top dress my horse’s feed with loose salt, but I was never confident that he was eating all of it. He thinks these pellets tastes great, so I don’t have to worry whether he’s getting the support he needs!

My Horse Eats It
I have a problem with my competition horse in the summer not wanting to eat any type of electrolytes including just adding salt. Living and competing in North Carolina in the summer heat I need a supplement that will help replenish his electrolytes that he will actually eat. I have no issues with him eating this and feel more confident in the summer months that he is staying hydrated.

Horse wouldn't touch them
Seems like a good product at a decent price. But my horse refused to eat these pellets. He's very picky about salt/electrolytes, but because they are "picky eater approved" and "apple-banana" flavored I added them to his smartpak. He ignored his grain completely (and he's usually first to finish!) I taste-tested a pellet myself and it tasted like straight up plain salt, so cant really blame him. Was hoping they would have been better flavored as advertised. Would probably work well for a horse who doesn't mind the taste of salt, unlike mine.

Perfect supplement for warmer climates.
I started my horse on this supplement just before shipping her from New England to Az.
It encouraged her to drink on the 6 day trip out there and now helps maintain her hydration while working in a much warmer climate.

Good alternative to free salt
My picky eater took a while to start eating it, but she regularly finishes it now. My other horse isn't so picky, and gobbled them up right away. Their water intake has increased.

Finally ! Drinking!
Even here in hot humid Florida, I was having problems getting my ponies well hydrated, expecially my new mini gelding. Scrubbed buckets, moving location of buckets, even changing bucket color.....no luck. After only one week adding this supplement to my evening feed, the water intake has increased about 50%. Unless, I see a change back to previous behaviors, they will be on this for the foreseeable future. Get's 'em drinkin'

Easy to use in smartpks
After I purchased these smartsalt paks my vet informed me that the hay and grain diet that my horse is on should have enough salt in it so that I don't need to add extra. Check with your vet before adding salt to your horses feed.

SmartSalt
Every winter my 32 year old quarter horse mare barely drinks any water, despite having a salt brick in her stall, and added table salt to her feed ration. She has a heated water bucket in her stall, and heated tank while she is outdoors, that she was barely drinking from. I was constantly worried that she would become impacted. This winter I started using SmartSalt Pellets. This has made a huge difference in her water consumption. I am so pleased that this product has worked so well for her.

Good way to keep your horse hydrated
My horse isn’t fabulous about drinking water in the winter, even with two heated buckets. I added the SmartSalt pellets to his grain and he’s much better about drinking now, and I can worry a little less. He seems to love the flavor (he’s turned his nose up at plain salt, pink salt, red salt, etc before) so I think I’ll keep him on this year round!

Picky eater LOVES it!!
We live in FL, it's hot year round. My daughter's OTTB is not a big water drinker and... Don't even think about a salt block.. this is the perfect answer. I feel better knowing he's getting the salt and increased water intake

Easy way to supplement
I like that I can regulate how much each horse is getting. The horses like it and I know that each one is getting some...not true with a salt block.
