Replaces Key Minerals Lost In Sweat
Dehydration in horses has serious consequences. In order to keep your horse properly hydrated and performing his best, it is essential to supplement his diet with salt. Neither hay, pasture, nor fortified grain contain enough salt (sodium chloride) to meet your horse’s needs, and not all horses can get their requirements from a salt block alone. Feeding a well-balanced electrolyte supplement like SmartLytes Pellets can supply the sodium chloride your horse needs, in addition to the other electrolyte minerals that are lost in sweat - potassium, calcium, and magnesium. Supplying these electrolytes will also encourage your horse to drink more water, rebalancing his fluids and helping to ensure proper digestion of feeds.

Perfect for our aging gelding
My husband's 23 year old gelding had a long history of colic. We realized he had at least one colic episode when the weather turned cold. A friend suggested he may not be drinking enough water. After some research on my own, we decided to try electrolytes. He ate the powder kind for a while, but slowly figured out how to leave it in the pan. I searched for pellet options and the SmartLytes are the best BY FAR. He never leaves them in the pan, and having them auto shipped ensures we don't run out. We have been feeding this pellet for approximately 2 years and had great success. He is well hydrated all year and healthier than ever.

Great supplement

Mare loves it!
My mare has anhidrosis which is the inability to sweat so keeping her on an electrolyte supplement is really important to me to help her handle the Florida summers. I was having a difficult time getting her to eat the powdered supplements. She would turn her nose up at her grain, sometimes even with a ton of molasses! When she colicked a few months ago from likely not drinking enough water, I decided to switch to the pellets even though it's more expensive. I'm so glad I did! The price is well worth it. She eats her meals no problem (without the molasses!) and she's drinking plenty of water. Thanks Smartpak!

Tastes good
After my horse suffered from an impacted jejunum in the small intestine, it was suggested that he take a supplement that would encourage drinking water. He eats this supplement like it is a treat. He also is drinking well and always loves a fresh bucket of water.

Hydration
I have been using this product for about a month and notice a great improvement on my horse when it comes to hydrating more! I ride between 10 to 25 miles every other day and it has been a concern of mine that my horse wasn't drinking enough when on the trail so I put him on SmartLytes pellets. I noticed within a couple weeks this product works. He hydrates more often in the pasture and especially on the trail.

Seems to be working
I started this a month ago because our horse has coliced 4 times in the first year we had him. Usually the vet said he was not drinking enough water, stools were dry and became stuck in his lower intestines. He only had a slight colic on day 20. Smart pak guru says to give it 60 days to see the full effect.

Love this stuff
I have a mare that refuses to eat at electrolyte powder, no matter what I do. I've tried everything to get electrolytes into her. In the end, I'd have to fill a big syringe and force the mixture into her mouth. Then I'd have to try and keep her from spitting it out. Not easy at 17.2 HH!
She has hated every product but this one. I was concerned shed snub her dinner like she did with every other product, but she loves these pellets. All 3 girls do. It's a huge relief for me. Now they all get a scoop daily and I don't worry as much. I haven't had a dehydrated horse since starting this product.
The repeal able bag is a little hard to re-seal, but that's okay. I dump it in a big Tupperware and seal it up.

Love these!
I live in South Florida and it's been insanely hot! The horses all eat these pellets. No residue in their feed buckets and they are well hydrated. Easy to measure and no powder to spill. Will continue to purchase them!

I use it as a treat after I ride; she likes it!
I wanted something to supplement after a hard workout. Hand feeding it allows me to monitor when she gets extra electrolytes and it doubleseems as a treat.

My horses love this product
I previously used another brand of electrolytes that you mix with water. Only 1 if my horses drink it right down. The other 1 occasionally and the rest nada. Not to mention it's loaded with sugar. SP is a winner!!! All my horses readily consume this and it contains no sugar.

Picky Eater Fooled!
I decided to try this product after noticing that my horse did not seem to be drinking enough water. He is very picky and will usually root through his grain to "weed out the things he doesn't need!" He eats this right up no problem. Will even eat it straight out of my hand! He is drinking more and staying hydrated. Love the product.

Great Electrolyete
I use this electrolyte pellet for all of my horses. I like that it is pelleted so I know they are eating it and it doesn't get wasted like powder forms do. Also, they all love the flavor and have no issues getting them to eat it.

This year has been unusually hot and dry in a naturally arid area! Keeping my horse hydrated is a major concern. This product is simple, clean, easy to store/administer AND the horse likes it!

Made such a difference!
My barrel horse is very picky when it comes to drinking water in the road. I've tried mints, Koolaid, carrots, and specific watering times and nothing seemed to work. But now after around 2-3 weeks on these pellets, we went to our first rodeo and she went through 3 buckets in 2 days! (Might not sound like a lot but it's slot for her compared to how you used to drink haha). Before this, it was "good" if she went through half a bucket in one day :/.
She won't, however, eat these straight out of my hand because of the banana smell. But she has no problem eating it when mixed in with her normal feed.

Awesome Product
I bought this to try since my mare won't eat loose salt. She eats the pellets and I don't have to worry about her getting the electrolytes she needs here in Florida. Only been on it a month, but she is sweating and drinking much better than she was. Very happy to have found this, and price really isn't awful either- much better than a vet bill!

working well
I bought this product specifically for a horse that wasn't drinking enough water. So far -this product is working great because it's in pelleted form and I don't have to put it in the water. The pellets are flavored and she's eating them in with her grain, she's not leaving them so I know she's getting them. She's also drinking another full bucket of water inside daily now besides her outside water intake.
