Have been using for a couple of months, horse seems to like eating it and she can be fussy. No gastro issues (prev has had ulcers, product seems to manage this ok).

Significant Difference in a handful of days
I have a four-year-old homebred that recently began harder work and traveling places. He's been on omeprazole but I wanted to add something that would support his overall system. He was beginning to be resistant to the right leg and wouldn't move forward. After three days, there was a small difference. After a week, there was a huge difference. Highly recommend.

It works!
I bought this after my horse had a bad colic episode that left him at the vet for a week and a couple thousand dollar vet bill. He has been on it for a month. I was late getting the new bag and after the two days he wasn’t on it he is having another bout of colic that so far is more mild. I have him back on the supplements and will be taking him to the vet tomorrow so hopefully a quick recovery!

very happy with this product
My horse was diagnosed with ulcers last year. We treated him & cleared them up but for preventative care I decided to put him on SmartGI Ultra pellets. He has been on it for about 4 months now and no further ulcer episodes. Yay!!

No More Hindgut Issues!!
I had my horse on this supplement (~3yrs) until we moved outside the USA. She developed hindgut ulcers and use of a Vet suggested, locally available GI supplement, didn't seem to work. So ordered SmartGI Ultra Pellets and within 3-4 weeks, there were no more signs of hindgut issues (swishing tail, stamping foot, head whipping around) when near or touching her rear flank. I am SO THANKFUL for this supplement as it clearly works for my horse! Will continue to order and use only this supplement as local products just don't seem to work. Highly recommend this supplement if your horse suffers from ulcers or GI issues.

Not sure about Ulcers, but he looks GREAT!
My horse was treated for ulcers over the summer and scoped clear after 2 months of GG. I started him on this supplement because of several of the ingredients being effective at treating ulcers in some good quality studies. My horse has since had a fracture in his leg and been on stall rest for 3 months so I have not been able to see how he is under saddle. But, even with stall confinement I don't have any indication of ulcers. The most amazing part is his overall appearance is just fabulous. Even my vet commented on how good he looks, and she has seen him very frequently since the fracture. Last year when he must have already had the ulcers coming on, his coat was really gross and scraggly and he lost some weight over the winter. He always had a greyhound "Tucked up" rear belly and was just generally lean, even when on free choice pasture. On this supplement his belly is much more loose and relaxed looking and his coat is thick and luxurious! I have left him "au natural" since he's confined in a stall and he has grown in a wonderful coat. His weight is the best I have ever seen it. I am not sure if this supplement is helping with his ulcers, but it is definitely giving him something he needed because he looks great! The first picture is before and the second after he had been getting supplement for about 3 months.

Not effective
Kept my horses on this supplement for several months as he weaned off ulcer treatment and subsequently Ulcergard prevention. Unfortunately, symptoms recurred which prompted re-scoping which revealed ulcers again. My vet advised that my money was better spent on buying Ulcergard as these supplements do little in terms of efficacy. Smartpak is way to use though and a simple system.

Was not effective at preventing ulcers
My mare was treated for ulcers with 6 weeks of Gastrogard/Ulcergard, and then placed on SmartGI Ultra at the suggestion of a friend. It seemed to work for a couple of months, but I recently started hauling her out for weekly lessons, and the ulcer symptoms have returned. For the cost of this supplement, I was hoping it would do a better job at preventing ulcers.

My horses loves it!
I have had him on supplements for a while but started on the smartgi after an ulcer incident. He's scoped clean and I feel that this is helping to keep them from returning.

Effective
This supplement is keeping my horse comfortable while he is in training. I have had great success with the SmartGut Ultra pellets as well, but I wanted to add the benefits of hindgut support. I have noticed less girthiness and sensitivity along the flanks while he is on this.

I put my mare on this to transition off of omeprazole/sucralfate treatment for ulcers. She is picky but reliably cleans it up and has been tolerating a return to work well.
I re-ordered two weeks ago and still haven't received it (UPS probably lost the package for a few days, it was shipped on time), so she's been off of it now for a couple days - she's increased her ulcery behaviors, so something is working in this!

My horse refuses to touch it
I have tried literally everything under the sun to get my horse to eat this supplement and he will not touch it. I tried coating in cocosoya oil, mixing in apple sauce, coating in molasses, mixing into his no bake treats, mixing into his grain, and mixing into his soaked hay pellet mush. He apparently hates the taste of it so much that he won't eat it when it's mixed into his mush or his treats. I love all my other smartpaks, but so disappointed that he won't eat this.

It’s working!
I believe these are helping my rescue gelding. He colicked twice within 30 days when I brought him home from a kill pen. My vet felt he was hyper acidic in the hind gut and suggested I look into gut supplements to help get his gut healthy again. He’s been on these for 2 months now and hasn’t colicked so far, cross fingers! He eats it no problems.

Horse Developed Severe Hindgut Ulcers
My horse was scoped and had severe nonglandular ulcers and mild glandular (hindgut) ulcers. She was treated with Gastrogard and sucralfate for 3 months, being scoped 2 more times to monitor her. All ulcers were gone. I started her on SmartGI Ultra immediately after vet treatment ended. She has been on this supplement for 1 year (from about Dec 2018 to Dec 2019). In Sept 2019, I noticed that she was developing symptoms that indicated she might have ulcers again. I had her scoped in Nov, and she now has severe hindgut ulcers (Grade 4) and Grade 2 nonglandular ulcers. She is again being treated with daily Gastrogard and sucralfate as well as misoprostol to address the hindgut ulcers. As far as I can tell, based on this sample of one, this product does not maintain gut health.

Wonderful product!
I started a mare on this after a bad colic that led us to find she was full of very severe ulcers. After her initial 30 days of vet treatment I wanted to find something to help keep the healing going and to then keep her healthy. This product has been a lifesaver! I started most of my herd on this after I learned more about ulcers in horses and my herd has never been healthier! Most of my horses were only on it for about 90 days and then I was able to take them off. But the horses we compete hard on stay on it year round. I’m so happy with this product, I now tell many horse owners about it.

Fantastic Supplement!
I had my paint gelding on SmartDigest Ultra for a while because he had loose and watery poops when he got into heavy work. Recently however, his stomach ulcers popped up again even after being on a different gastric care supplement. So I tried SmartGut Ultra and I saw results in just 3 days! All of his symptoms were gone within a week and I finally had my level headed, reliable horse back! Since he was already on SmartDigest Ultra, I decided to switch to this so I could save money and get two great supplements in one!

Didn't help my horse
I tried this after a course of omeprazole, to see if it would help with chronic diarrhea. It didn't - actually my mare's diarrhea got much worse while on it. At this price, it wasn't worth it for me to continue on it.

Not worth the money.
I put all of my horses on this. Several months later 2 horses developed ulcers. One went on to colic and was hospitalised. Because there was no surgery colic care would not cover. The entire purpose of putting them on this was to help prevent this from happening. To have it happen to 2! Save your money!

The Perfect Supplement for Total GI Tract Support!
SmartGI Ultra Pellets are always my go-to for comprehensive GI tract support. My current horse, a Hungarian Warmblood, has a history of stomach issues and he's in regular training with occasional travel which I know can add to GI stress. My veterinarian and I are both very happy with how he’s been doing since I added SmartGI Ultra Pellets to his supplement program! I love that the gastric support is backed by research that shows it helps to maintain stomach health, and that the hindgut support makes him eligible to enroll in ColiCare. I’m so pleased with how comfortable and happy he has seemed while on this product. When I first got him, he was a bit of a difficult keeper and I struggled to keep weight on him over the winter. Having consistent stomach and hindgut support onboard has not only helped him to maintain his digestive health but has also helped him to utilize all of the great nutrients he’s getting in his diet. I’m so happy with how he maintained his weight throughout this last winter. Not to mention, SmartGI Ultra comes in a tasty pellet that he loves so much he'll eat it with or without grain!

Gave me back my horse
This product is a relationship saver. My 5 year old had developed some pretty nasty behaviors since coming back from a leg abscess over the winter and I was very frustrated with him. He'd be crabby, anxious and have tantrums every other ride. Neither of us were having any fun. Finally a lightbulb went off and I tried ulcer guard- immediate difference. After a few weeks of treatment I added this supplement to his diet after seeing it was shown to have kept ulcers from recurring after treatment. He's continued to be an angel and we're both having fun again. SO GLAD I tried another way of addressing his behavioral issues!!! Also very happy to have the colic coverage.

Miracle Product
I have a former stallion that is always a little hot but he was getting out of control. He was back sore, rearing, and grinding his teeth. I had him checked for ulcers and immediately turned to smartpak for gut support.. He is now happy healthy. His coat is better his overall health and demeanor is better. Thank you Smartpak for making my horse rideable again and ColiCare!!

My horse was treated for ulcers for 30 days and I bought this to prevent future episodes. He has been on this product for approximately a month and still not gaining weight and showing ulcer behavior. He doesn’t sta least eat it which isn’t more than I can’t say about the weight gain product.

So disappointed in this supplement!
I have had my horse on SmartGIUltra for years and loved the added benefit of the insurance for colic but it doesn't prevent ulcers at all. My horse has pasture access every day all afternoon, I feed no grain and he is not a show horse or ridden hard at all and access of as much hay as he wants when in his stall with large run. I can't understand why he now has ulcers again. The amounts of lecithin, pectin and slippery elm etc are just not nearly enough for preventing ulcers. I am going to give lecithin in addition but what a waste of my money just to have the colicare. I hope he never colics. I still recommend it for other reasons but not ulcers obviously!

Awesome and Works!
My horse would have minor colic episodes (banamine would cure it), we think from ulcers in the hind gut. He was on omeprazole because it was show season and he gets ulcers easily. After being on Smart GI he hasn't had any colic episodes!

Awesome product
I purchased this for my 3 y/o OTTB who started showing some mild ulcer symptoms. Per his chiropractor he was mildly reactive over his ulcer points so I figured I’d try this before moving on to scoping and ulcerguard. He was on it for one month before she came back to see him again and she was amazed with the difference in him. Before I even told her what I had done differently she commented on how different his eye looked.....softer, peaceful. He was noticeably less tense and only needed a slight adjustment to his SI joint.....neck and back were supple and without issue!
I 100% feel this has made a big difference! Will be continuing indefinitely.....and the ColiCare program is an awesome perk!
