In his natural habitat, your horse would graze most of the day to meet his nutritional needs. As a result, his digestive tract is designed to rely on a slow, steady intake of complex carbohydrates like grass and hay. Research
A research study has shown through the use of the Diamond V in vitro intestinal activity modifier model (IAMM), it was demonstrated that SmartDigest Ultra, SmartDigest Ultra Pellets, and SmartGI Ultra Pellets - which all contain DVEquine postbiotic-produce higher levels of VFAs (volatile fatty acids) than an alfalfa/grass hay mix alone and may support the normal, healthy structure and function of the hindgut of the horse.

My horse loves it!
Only time will tell if this product will have the effect I’m looking for (continued support of my mare’s GI system), but she is eating it, and that is an important first step! She’s pretty picky and wasn’t thrilled about another brand’s product, so I wondered if she were even getting those nutrients. At least I’m assured that she is with SmartDigest!

So far so good!
I've been using this supplement for a little over a month with a horse of mine that is colic prone. He turned his nose up at it at first, but now eats it mixed in his feed. We've had drastic temperature changes recently, which I think has given him trouble in the past, but so far so good!

I’ve Definitely Noticed A Difference!
I bought my OTTB about 5 months ago and he has struggled with GI discomfort and has been a bit girthy since I purchased him. After two weeks on this, I’ve noticed a huge difference in his gut health and his attitude. He is a lot more relaxed under saddle as well! I will continue to use Smart Digest Ultra in addition to Daily Gold Stress Relief as an additional stomach buffer. Overall, I’m very impressed. The additional colicare is a huge bonus!

Horse Refused to Eat It!
I tried and tried and tried to get my picky OTTB to eat the powder version of this supplement. He refused, so I have no idea if it would work for him or not. I ended up giving the rest of his month’s supply of SmartPaks to a barn mate so it wouldn’t get wasted, and switched him to the pelleted version to see if that is acceptable to Mr. PickyPony.

Fixed what my vet could not.
Ever since I brought my horse home, she’s had unformed, runny manure. This issue had been chronic for some time before I got her. I worked with my vet and did lots of different things to try to figure out and fix what was causing this issue and the vet ultimately found nothing of note, then informed me it was an “ugly normal” consistency, he wasn’t concerned. Since my vet’s only suggestion was acceptance, I decided to contact the SmartPak team. Based on what I had told them and what my goals were for my horse (and her health), they recommended the Smart Digest Ultra. I was worried my horse may not like it, but she happily ate this. Within about a week, we had solid, defined manure. The horse has been quieter and seems more comfortable now, too. It took about two weeks to see a consistent improvement, but it did for us what the vet couldn’t do: fix the problem. I am more than happy to stand behind something that actually worked. And in the case of SmartDigest Ultra, it worked extremely well.

NO Effect
My horse has chronic diarrhea that comes and goes with the seasons. I saw the great reviews with this product and had very high hopes, but after a month on this supplement his loose stool didn't get any better, maybe even got worse. Very disappointed.

Helped a kill pen rescue regain his health!
I recently rescued a 3yr old saddlebred from a kill pen, immediately put him on this supplement as he was very underweight and had diarrhea from the diet changes. I know so many people who’ve had great success with it. What a difference, he will be on this for life!

Works just like smart Digest ultra pellets!
I had my welsh pony on the smart digest ultra pellets and tried him on this and even though a powder he eats it no problems! He’s a picky eater too, this is only powder supplement he will eat no problems! Even licks his bowl after clean! And save money and still get the colic care! Win win!

Make better use of feed!
My older horses assimilate their rations more completely, staying stronger and in better weight. They are warmer in cold because they have calories to burn and a healthy cat reserve. They retain muscle on the back extending their riding usefulness. No skinny old horses in my barn!

Great product!
Ultra Digest literally saved my stallions life. Two different Vets recommended putting him down due to not being able to get chronic diarhea under control. Doing my own research I discovered SmartPaks Ultra Digest ~ and it worked beyond expectations! Two years later he's going strong, a healthy and happy 23 yr old!

Love SmartPaks and ColicCare!
I bought these because I wanted to enroll in ColicCare. They auto ship right to my barn so I don’t even have to think about ordering when I run out. My horse eats the powder just fine, though I did switch to pellets just because they’re easier for the folks at the barn to feed.

Noticed Improvement

Finally!
I had been trying several different mixes from different places in an effort to get my draft mare's manure more on the solid side of things. Nothing worked until I tried SmartDigest Ultra Powder. It smells delicious and my mare thought so too. It took about 10 days for the manure to have better form, but she had been struggling for a few months with loose stools until I found this, so I did not expect overnight results. Now she will stay on this supplement... So happy!

My OTTB is almost normal now.
When I took custody of my OTTB he was exhibiting all the signs of ulcers. I put him on different supplements and Omeprazole which helped a lot but there was still some issues. I decided to try SmartDigest Ultra. He's been on it for almost 2 months now and the difference is amazing. I've never been able to give this horse a good through brushing without him trying avoid my touch on his right flank especially. He's finally relaxed and allowed me to give him a through grooming. He's always avoided the saddle but he's getting better about that too. He seems way more comfortable and has put on weight. His coat looks fantastic and his farrier has complemented the quality of his hooves.

Horse seems to be eating and he is super picky
I appreciate that Smartpak has a product that is eligible for the Colicare without being super expensive as my horse is a very very picky eater. He seems so far to be eating this and I think that it is a good supplement going into the winter months when he tends to get ulcers.
