Picky eater approved!
Takoda is SO picky but he eats the SmartPak SmartDigest pellets without any issues. He’s never been a horse with known GI upset but it gives me the peace of mind that he is being supported.

From clumpy pyramids to normal nuggets!
I've had my mule for six months and he's always pooed a soft pyramid. Not nuggets, but not cow patty. When any stress happens however, straight to cow patty. So I started him on this for the yeast and biotics. 3 weeks in now and he has normal nuggets! We'll be going to our first show since starting him on it in two days, so fingers crossed he still has good poos. But so far, I'm really happy with this product!

Post colic surgery necessity
My mare went through a difficult colic surgery 7 months ago. The vet was not able to remove a lot of her damaged guts, so we just hoped for the best. I have had her on smart digest since bringing her home and always will. No issues so far!

Fantastic!! Mares stools went from loose to normal
After years of owning my mare and several months into having finally moved her home her stools went 100% south. No form and completely loose. I have her and my gelding on Timothy Hay and Alfalfa cubes. I tried all sorts of probiotics for MONTHS to turn her stools around as well as leaned on some friends for recommendations and bought what they swore by. No improvement. Finally, called vet and ran her through several Rx courses of treatment. Still no luck. I felt horrible about this and was not at all comfortable with this being her reality moving forward. Finally, I called Smartpak and told them the entire play by play and they recommended SmartDigest Ultra. I had nothing left to loose and went for it. INCREDIBLE. This was an ongoing issue for a year with her and within 3 weeks of being on it her stools started turning around and shortly there after they went to normal and have been so for 6 months and counting. She eats it great in her cup of grain she gets daily. So grateful! Between this and being dialed in on same hay source and same brand of cubes she is great now. Really appreciate the product, knowledgeable & helpful staff and the entire system which makes dosing my horses a no brainer for me, or my family if they need to step in an feed for me. Thanks so much!

Seems to work
I’m on my second month of feeding this to my gelding. He has 24/7 access to a round bale but would get loose stool for a day or two every time a new bale was put in the paddock. He is a paint with an all white tail and hind legs, so he would be pretty gross. Since putting him on this supplement, his stool has stayed a good consistency and the changing of round bales doesn’t seem to upset his system anymore.

Helped my weanling
Having loose stools on a weanling is not what you want. He eats this right out of my hand and his stools are at a better quality. I believe everything starts and ends with the gut.

Good product offering but didn't help my horse
I have a now 2 year old paint filly who has had an issue with chronic diarrhea since I got her as a weanling. My vet suggested I put her on a gut supplement, something with prebiotics and probiotics so last summer (August maybe?) I put her on this supplement. Comparing labels, it's competitively priced and so much easier than powders. She eats it wonderfully and doesn't even need it mixed with grain.
But we're going on almost a year now with no change in her chronic diarrhea and therefore no improvement in her digestive health. Also, she colicked (gas colic, resolved on the farm, no surgery needed so ColicCare didn't apply) last fall, while she was on this supplement. I don't think it was because of the supplement (last year just seemed like a bad year for colic in Ohio) but it didn't prevent it.

I've had a Walking Horse gelding for 5 years, and, for all 5 of those years, he's had problems with intermittent diarrhea. It's just been a part of life: he gets cow-like stool, I give him psyllium for a couple of days, repeat as necessary. I decided to get Smartpaks because he needs joint support, so I went ahead and threw in SmartDigest Ultra hoping it would help.
While it did help with the diarrhea (in fact getting rid of it completely), around three months after he was started on the supplement, he colicked -- bad. No gut sounds whatsoever and a heartrate in the 70s. After 18 liters of lactated ringers and hours of handwalking and tears, he managed to pull through. I wrote it off as a fluke. Less than a month after the first colic, he had a second; this one I headed off at the pass. His gut sounds were only spasmodic and his heartrate only hit the 40s. But I started to wonder what was making him colic for the first time in 5 years, and the only change was this supplement.
I stopped this supplement right after the last bout of colic and -- touch wood -- haven't had any problems to date. Maybe this product does better in horses without such digestive issues, but I don't see it as worth the risk.

It Works!
We have a new horse and he was quite gassy especially going around the ring. After putting him on SmartDigest there was a big improvement almost immediately and his gas remains significantly reduced. Well worth the money. Wished the bucket could be part of the colic care program, not just Smartpaks.

Great results!
My guy has had some liquidly stool recently, we tried other products and at the recommendation of my vet we tried him on this. His stool within a week was much firmer and his hind end and tail less messy! Highly recommend it!

Keeping my horse on this
I have a higher strung mare that needs to benefit from a good digestive supplement. Had her on grand digest, which worked ok but was difficult to get her to eat. I wanted to give smart digest a try since it comes with the added security of colic insurance and is about the same cost. She eats this no problem, and her manure hasn’t been loose once since the switch. Only con is that you are required to order the supplement in smartpak strips in order to qualify for the insurance.
