no feed about supllement but on the non smart bags
So I bought one set of the smart paks and one bag of the bulk bag. The bag was short 2 doses even with measuring out every dose into baggies. I checked this with two scales. So unless the price difference is a lot between the bag and the smart paks I would go with the smartpaks especially in this supplements case. Also my bag of supplements had multiple pellets throughout the bag that were a lighter tan color. This supplements color is a dark greenish color. I am not super what those pellets were. So be cautious if your horse has special dietary needs. No on to the actual supplements my horse will eat it by itself if the barn forgets to put it in his feed, and I like the ingredients. I have only been feeding it for about a month so I can't speak on its effectiveness yet.

This was a recommended combo pack. I hoped it would help my horse be less grumpy when being brushed and saddled. I haven't notice any change. I will go back to my original order G.U.T. and a hoof supplement.

Not for My Picky Eater
My five year old OTTB isn't usually a picky eater, but man does he hate these! He will eat his bucket until he gets to the part these are in then leaves it there all day - adding applesauce etc doesn't even help. It's a bummer because I loved the ingredients, but he won't go near it. If your horse is even remotely picky just skip this!

Supplement seemed to help but strong odor
Supplement seemed to help but has strong odor and I have to hide it mixed in some sweet feed to get my guy to eat it. He will still walk away from it and not eat some days.

This is not picky eater approved
My horse hates the stuff, and it’s expensive! I’ve lowered his dose because I still want him to reap the benefits but now I’m not Colic Care eligible. What a joke. Make your supplements palate Ake to horses!

Great Improvements!
I decided to try this to provide an all-around booster for my 19 year old gelding who was about to undergo a major phallectomy surgery and squamous cell carcinoma treatment. I figured he could use all the support he could get to help him through this. I was surprised to find that he quickly lost that "old man" look. His topline filled out nicely even though he was not in work. His hooves grew a nice concave sole. His energy levels returned to what he had 5 years ago, and he developed a more youthful attitude. I had originally planned to just use it as pre and post surgery support, but have been so impressed with the results that I have decided to keep him on it longer. The only negative is that it is VERY expensive, so I may have to downgrade to one of the other SmartCombo formulas soon.

Made my guy Cranky!
Put my gelding on this for the last 3-4 wks and he became Super cranky and irritable! Started kicking out and bucking when I would ride. Which he Never does! Pins his ears in his stall now too. Also a never for him. Taking him off it and sending back the new bag I got this week.

Great Ingredients
My ulcer-prone, emotional, fragile-flower of a gelding is, so far, doing really well on his SmartCombo Ultimate Pellets. I switched him over from the Exceed 6-Way because of the higher levels (and additional ingredients) of joint, hoof and gastric support. (For those who are on the fence and trying to figure out what might be best, use the "compare" feature to see side-by-side lists of supplement ingredients.) I should add here....I exhaustively research my horses' nutrition; and each one has different needs. With respect to my gelding, I decided to make the switch to better support his needs as an athlete. He is 17.1 hands, 14 years old, sensitive, emotionally fragile, ulcer-prone...and the love of my life. I did feel like he was doing really well on the Exceed 6-Way (and would highly recommend it as a supplement as well); but after comparing the two supplements side-by-side, I thought that this looked even better (in terms of the most comprehensive support I could provide). He has only been on this supplement for 2 months now; and, as such, I can't say that I have noticed a big difference yet. I think the proof will be in the pudding in approx 4 more months. This supplement truly has it all (I think) in terms of joint, gastric and hoof support. I am optimistic! I should add....I am rating the value as "average" because it is expensive -- much more expensive than the Exceed 6-Way. I am optimistic in the sense that I am hopeful that this will fall under the category of "you get what you pay for!" For those who don't want to pay as much.....I have had two horses on the Exceed 6-Way with excellent results. Great bang for the buck with that supplement for sure!!

Great Supplement!
If you're looking for an overall, comprehensive (high level) supplement for your horse then definitely give this one a try. My horse is a 15 year old WBxTB who I am looking to give a good base of extra support. He still competes and is in an intensive training program 4 days a week. His coat is very shiny, his feet look great, and his movement has improved. I read in some reviews that this supplement made their horses "hot" but I feel like my horse just feels great and is moving very well (he also gets 2 flakes of alfalfa a day so he has plenty of energy already to spare).
I had switched back to SmartPak after changing to another brand for a few years and my horse stopped eating the granular textured supplement so I am glad this one comes in pellets which are mixed in with his grain. Happy to report we are a member of the clean plate club again!

Best supplement yet!
The Ultra is the best bang for the buck. I have an 8 yo OTTB- we do hunters/jumpers and I wanted to give him a supplement that would cover his hooves/joints/gut- he is a picky eater too. But, he eats the pellets well and I LOVE how he has been doing! His hooves are noticeably stronger, his coat is shiny, and he seems overall happy :) and, I can sleep knowing he is getting a quality product! Not to mention the benefits of ColiCare!!

Had high hopes
I have been using this supplement for 3 months was very excited to have everything in one supplement. At first first I was caught off guard by how much there was to feed. My mare ate it for the first 30 days. The second month it took her 24 hours to clean it up and still left some. I tried one more month in all hopes that she would get used to it and this past week she won't touch any of her grain. She had never been a picky eater AT ALL. Always made her very on edge and hyper. I loved the concept of the supplement itself but its just not for my mare. Exoecially for the price!!

Simply the best!
I’ve had my 19 year old OTTB on this supplement for one month, and the change in his appetite and his movement have been incredible to watch. I now suspect he may have suffered from ulcers for many years, so the ingredients (slippery elm, marshmallow root, aloe vera, etc) have helped his tummy. I also think the ingredient Resveratrol (he used to get Recovery EQ which has this ingredient in it... after I stopped Recovery EQ, he started tripping again) helps his movement, as he no longer trips and is easily flexing right and left, as well as lifting his back eagerly. He’s also an extremely picky eater, yet does not mind this supplement. SmartPak is great... they separated the wells into AM and PM because there are 6 wells. Love this! It’s spendy, but it is so worth it, to minimize the risk of colic and ulcers, as well as helping him feel better in his senior years. Ever since on this product, I have seen him frolicking in his pasture like a youngster! Totally worth the price tag. This is the only supplement he gets! It has it all!

I had my Hannoverian mare on this supplement ... late teenage years, feel like it supported ALL of the possiblities.
From a joint standpoint, this had the best balance - Lycene / Cetyl M / and the other common (MSM, HA, Glucosamine) - which was rationale for my specific choice.
My girl has since passed from diagnosis EPM

Picky eater
My picky eater did not like this product. He would eat it, but it took him 24 hours to clean it up. In contrast, the supplement for his gut he loves so much he is right there waiting for me to feed him. After calling Smart Pak, I canceled this supplement and kept him on the Gut Ultimate that he loves and added one just for his hooves. Need to finish up what I have then will start that combination.

Excellent Results
I am seeing great results from this supplement. Maverick was gassy and seemed uncomfortable until he farted a few times and now he's not having any of those problems. His hooves look better and his coat is nice and thick. He's been on these for two months and I can't wait to see 6 months' results.

Healthiest horse in the barn!
I put my young horse on this supplement to ensure her general health as she moved to a new barn in a new state, started a new training regimen, and went through growth and dietary changes. All our bases were well covered!
Through the hot, dry summer a few others horses in the same facility had various bouts of illness due to dehydration or from ingesting the sandy dirt as they browsed the parched grass (or from choosing to eat buttercups instead of said grass!) during an end of summer drought. My girl stayed happy and healthy without a single problem.
Her coat quality has been great, her hooves hard and sturdy, she's growing like a weed, and despite increased training she hasn't experienced any symptoms of joint pain (we are careful of course, but its good to know the supplement has her covered too!).

Not impressed
My horse has been on this product for 2 months and I'm not seeing any improvement. It's not helping her feet at all, although, that was not the intended purpose. The downside is she won't eat it unless the taste is well hidden. Even then, she paws and spits some of it out, behaviors that she doesn't exhibit when it's not in her grain. It smells horrible and it's grossly expensive. She did better just eating bananas, probiotics and a little coconut oil in her grain.

Great contents.
My 29yo mare suffered a crippling stifle and a hoof abscess at the same time. She was place on bute for a while. Because NSAIDS do harm to the digestive system, I picked this product to heal her system. Worked wonderfully. She looks great and is her old self once again.
