He loves it!!
After years of taking his SmartCombo Ultra pellets without any issues, my boy started being picky and began leaving some of the supplement even when mixed with his grain. I switched him to the SmartCombo Senior Ultra not expecting too much as the ingredients are so similar. Glad I was wrong. He’s licking the bottom of the bucket clean again. Oh, and the potassium content is slightly less, which is important to know fir our HYPP horses! BTW, he’s doing just as fabulous on this supplement! Thank you, SmartPaks for supplying me with current values for potassium!

Not picky eater approved
I bought this for my senior mini & really had high hopes. But unfortunately he would not eat it at all! Which I was very surprised because he usually eats everything. But no luck.

A great "all in one" for Seniors!

Horse won't eat it
After my horse had a colic episode a few weeks ago, I thought I'd switch from the regular Senior Smart Combo, to this one. Since it says it has digestive properties.
Now, my mare tends to be picky with supplements, and I know that. But usually after about days 5, she'll eat them. But not this one. It does have a pretty strong smell and I think that turns her off. I dont blame her really. I tried molasses, apple sauce, adding water, nothing.
So this was an expensive "no go" for me.

Excellent all in one for seniors!
My 33 year old gelding has been on SmartPak supplements since I bought him when he was 24. We went to regionals in Dressage the first 4 years I had him and people thought he was in his teens. He is still a beautiful, happy horse with good legs and I think it all is due to SmartPak and fabulous nutrition (ok, and lots of love). This is a wonderful all in one answer for your beloved older horse.

Excellent supplement!!!

Perfect

Helping after colic
My older horse has had two severe bouts of colic in the last few months and was having issues weekly. He's been on this supplement for 3 months and his digestive upsets have really decreased. He's had two mild episodes requiring some medication in the last 2 months. This seems to be making a difference and I like that he likes the taste and doesn't leave it in the bottom of the trough like he does with other things I've tried.

Complete product
My 33.5 year old mare had been on this product for over year. We had an excellent ride last night with her usual pulling at the bit. Her coat is healthy, she’s sound, strong hooves and good manure consistency.

Excellent Product
My 21 year old Dutch Warmblood gelding has been on this for about 6 months. My horse had a bad colic last June (2017), due to a nephro-splenic displacement. While there are no known cures, some research suggested that a reason for such gas accumulation could be due to food not being broken down enough before fermentation in the cecum. This product contains digestive enzymes to combat that issue, and I have to say, it seems to be working. My gelding is less gassy, stool is more wet (as it should be!), and he hasn't colic-ed since June!
I also love the rest of the ingredient list - balanced Omega3 and Omega6, comprehensive joint support (would like a little more HA, if SP ever decides to reformulate), essential amino acids, and minerals. It's a good value for the price, I do feed a few other supplements, but it's nice to know his basics are covered in just one strip.
Also have to say, it's quite impressive when a clipped horse has dapples in the middle of winter...must be doing something right!

Verdict is out
I love the whole concept of the Colic Care, but so far this product is not working for my horse. I have been on the product a little over a month any my horses stool is very wet. I thought I would give it one more month, before contacting Smart Pak for an alternative.

My Senior horse (27 yrs young) is very picky when it comes to supplements. Smartpack Senior Ultra Pellets do the job. I love that I do not find a pile of MSM, or probiotics at the bottom of his feed bin. Suede looks and feels great.

Great Supplement!
I have an almost 20 yr old APHA mare that has been having every skin issue possibly since recently moving to a different state. She suddenly became very sensitive to the sun and gets sunburned easily, and seems to have itchy skin. In working with my vet, we figured it must be something in the pasture that is causing this sudden change, but haven't been able to eradicate it. I keep her covered with a fly sheet, year around, but she was still rubbing herself raw at times. As a last ditch effort, I tried this supplement to see if some immune support would possibly help her deal with whatever was making her so sensitive. It seems to be working! Her coat is growing back and she seems to be less desperate to scratch on everything. I'll continue using it, and see how we progress....thank you! :)

Replaced multiple supplements
Just received my second auto ship of this product and, so far, I'm thrilled with the results. Everything about my senior mare - her coat, her manure consistency, her feet - everything seems to be in excellent shape. I replaced extra salt, yea-sacc and SandClear with this product. It's easy to feed (just add to her regular senior grain), much simpler to deal with than three different supplements and, to date, is working SUPER!

My 22 year old TB mare had colicked twice last year within several months of each other. After her second episode I knew I had to crack down on preventative measures. I already had her on SmartCombo Senior, but decided to switch her to the SmartCombo Senior Ultra because it included the SmartDigest for hindgut support. She has been on it for 6 months now and has not had a single colic episode despite changes in season, pasture, and grain. I truly believe this product has played a major role in helping her adjust to any changes and keeping that dreaded "c" word at bay! Just an overall fantastic product!

Good except for effect on coat
I am repeating this review because it was never posted. I used these pellets for 6 or more months, and it works well. However, my horse's coat became duller than it had been on other combo supplements. I am using another combo product with more Omega 3s for a few months in the hope his coat will shed out and look better before summer. Interesting that I received a note from SPak that they were removing Smart Omega 3s from this supplement and replacing it with Smart Shine, but I don't think this will provide more Omega 3s, and the site has not been updated to reflect his change. I want to switch back to a pellet for humid summer months, but will wait to see what SPak does with this supplement,
