Great improvement !!

Picky eater did not approve
Thought I'd try my older but spry gelding on this to take the edge off, but he won't touch his food with these mixed in (even tried doing a drizzle of molasses to entice him). Unfortunately disappointed.

Love this stuff
My TB is a good guy but was getting pretty tense and reactive, so I tried Total Calm and Focus, which helped, but then I switched to this and the results were much better. He just seems much happier and more relaxed. It's made our rides more enjoyable for both of us!

Good too a little time to work
Started my mare on this a couple months ago, and the effects are just starting to show. She is over all much calmer and even tempered. I’d say if you are wanting to try this, be willing to give it three months to see full effects.

problem ror my horse
I bought this by accident meaning to order the SmartCalm but thought I would give it a try because it should still work as there was only one different ingredient from the one I was using for my mare. The one ingredient was L-tryptophan, when my horse started getting more excited and began to feel like a time bomb ready to go off (I had been using less than a full dose) I upped the dose only to find it got worse. She did manage not to actually lose it but this was not the the result I was hoping for since on SmartCalm I had a reasonably sane horse when I rode sometimes even pokey. She also had issues with other horses in the ring when I rode and I had to get off and not ride that day. Another mare in the barn was also using it as she needed something to calm her. She also ended up getting worse instead of better. It was at this point I did some research on the one ingredient that was different. What I found was that L-tryptophan can cause mild excitement in horses. In my mare and the other mare in the barn I would say it was more than mild excitement. I have since taken her off this supplement and put her back on the SmartCalm, she is back to what she was before trying this one. So though it may work for some horses I would caution those who do try it to pay attention to your horse and see if it is actually helping.

It works! No problems with feeding.
My horse been on this for a month, the difference is noticeable. It does not slow her down it just takes the edge off. It reduces attitude anxiety anxiousness. It does not reduce performance. As an eventer I still need stamina. It just quiets her mind a little bit. we also have no problem feeding it. She will eat it right out of my hand.

Gelding did not like the taste
I switched my gelding from the regular SmartCalm to the Ultra. Within two days of switching, he was refusing to eat anything in his bucket if the Ultra was in there. I switched him back to the regular version and he went back to gobbling it up. I was curious how the Ultra would affect him but did not get a chance to see, obviously. The regular version does help him though.

It took a little while but finally kicked in
My arab gelding is very looky and flighty . Started this supplement along with Smart GI supplement after he was dx with ulcers. He's been on it for almost 2 months and is much more calmer and easier to work with.

Not picky eater approved
My TB mare who is suspicious of any changes in her food refuses to eat this supplement. Even when I soak it in her mash she manages to eat around it.

Worked Wonders
Have tried numerous calming supplements for my Arabian but this is first one to truly work. I’m much happier and she is now able to take so many more noises and distractions without freaking out. Like a different horse. Took 30 days to really kick in so be patient!

Horse won’t eat it
I was SO hopeful with this supplement but my gelding will NOT eat it. I tried EVERYTHING!!! He would rather starve that touch this stuff! He wouldn’t even eat around it, one sniff and he would throw his head up and walk away.

Opposite reaction
I switched to this since it seemed to be a better price instead of buying the Mg and B vitamin separately. My horse tends to be a bit reactive, but he's young. After 2 weeks on this supplement, he because extremely spooky and having melt downs over every little thing (stuff that never bothered him before). Switching supplements was the only change. I feel bad as he's so frazzled, and that's not like him. Not even safe to ride right now. Taking him off and going back to the old supplements in hope that he goes back to his normal self!

It REALLY Works!!
I own an off the track Thoroughbred who is VERY spirited and likes to spook at almost everything while on the trail and likes to fight me in the arena. I started this supplement about 2 months ago and unfortunately wasn't able to see if it helped him under saddle until today, due to me being injured at work several weeks ago. He was like a new horse today! I just walked, trotted and cantered a little and he was my horse with his usual spirit but none of his usual hijinks!! I couldn't believe it, he didn't want to gallop straight away when I asked him for a canter! He was such a good boy, for not being ridden for almost a month and a half, no lunging...it was like I was riding the worlds brokest horse. I was THRILLED. Thank you SpartPak!!!

Getting back to normal!!
Two months ago, Mack, my 19 yr. old Standardbred gelding, moved with us from a quiet, suburban backyard barn in Westchester County, NY to very rural upstate NY. After a couple of okay days, Mack quickly realized that “rural” doesn’t necessarily equate with “peaceful”! There is a freight train track a field away, an interstate a ways beyond that, wonderful neighbors that train hunting dogs and shoot skeet, duck season, now deer hunting season.... It all quickly became too much for Mack. He’d spook at something and then run himself into a lather - over and over. He wouldn’t eat or drink well. He was nervous and out of sorts. Very uncomfortable and unhappy. Which had me just worried sick about him. I thought that I might end up having to re-home him! Luckily, in desperation, I thought of SmartPaks, which we’d used at other times over the years.
I ordered SmartCalm Ultra, as well as U-gard Pellets for him, which arrived quickly.
What a life saver!!! I could see the results almost immediately! He was SO much better - not on high alert all the time, he could relax and actually lay down to sunbathe! He started eating and drinking well again, and gained back the weight he had lost.
I had been worried if he would even eat the supplements because he is quite a picky eater, and he wasn’t eating much at that point anyway, but, thankfully, no problem at all - he would even eat them right out of my hand.
So, sorry for this novel-length review, but I continue to be thrilled by how these products helped turned our bad situation around!

I think it works
My mare has been on this supplement for over a month now. I feel like she is more focused and easier to manage. She is still herself, looky and flighty, but easier to bring back into a centered mind. I think this supplement has helped.
Also, she does eat it. At first she was suspicious and wouldn't, but she got used to it after about a week and eats it fine. She's not the type to clean her plate, but not suuuper picky like some horses.

Really works!
My mare is a totally different animal now. I have been using these pellets for almost a year now, and I started seeing the different within a couple of weeks. I also have switched her over to the Dr Cooks bitless bridle and that has decreased her anxiety level even more. Recommend highly!!

Calmed my Spook Monster
My horse came up to New England from down south - from large pastures and fields to a suburban environment. Right from day one everything here at this busy barn and on the road was scary! And his reaction to everything was to be a super spook ... in hand and undersaddle. I spent weeks trying to get him used to his new world but he was too anxious to break through to. Thinking this will just be what I have to deal with I thought I'd try SmartCalm Ultra - couldn't hurt right? Well - after 8 weeks - it has helped so much! It took a full 8 weeks to take effect with him because he was so over-reactive - he trained himself to spook at everything! Now - he's so different ... he is now allowing himself to relax. There is still an occasional spook - but "normal" ... it took a while for me to retrain myself from expecting him to spook too! This supplement is the real deal! He will always be on it. Now I'm hoping he stays this way when the New England fall winds whip up his tail! LOL

Supplement change my horse!
I have had my horse on this since May after working up and taxing potential gi ulcers and weight loss. My horse went from being a relatively lazy unphased horse for many years to recently being so nervous he was pacing and acting so spooky for the last year. After ruling out any medical issues and changing diet/lifestyle as much as we could my vet recommended Ultracalm to help relax him a bit as we worked on fixing potential other factors. It’s been like night and day now he is so much more relaxed and happy. He’s gaining weight and has stopped pacing. I also noticed he’s been able to sleep more and resting on a regular schedule at the barn. I plan to continue using this supplement long term!

Works as well as promised!
I began rehabbing a 14 year old KWPN gelding who had been abused. After a month on a similar (but more expensive) product from another company, I started him on SmartCalm. Within a week he was less reactive- it has now been nearly two months and he is a far happier boy. All of his PTSD triggers have faded; he is enjoying his work, trusts his rider, and has the quality of life I could only dream of for him. SmartPak, thank you for helping me give him his new start!

not palatable
I can't really say if it works or not, since I couldn't get my mare to eat it. I tried for over a week, and she finally just quit eating her grain. She is a picky eater, but I can usually get her use to it. This is a no-go for her.
