Up in the air
My thoroughbred has very sensitive skin, to say the least. He spends every summer from May through September covered in hives caused by the bugs. I started smart bugoff ultra 2 months ago and it doesn't seem to repel the bugs at all. He swishes, stomps, and shakes the same, even with full fly sheet, fly mask, and spray. HOWEVER, we are now into June and he doesn't have hives as of yet! I'm not sure if it's the supplement, as I have done a couple of things differently this year. I'm not taking him off it to find out though!!!

Still observing
Been a cold wet spring so hard to know if it is helping with the bugs. But it smells good and the horses eat items it has good ingredients so I will give it more time!

Horses Did Not Like
Both of my horses would not eat their grain with this in it. I didn't think they were picky eaters, but maybe they are.

No difference
My thoroughbred is on his second month of the smartbug-off and he's just as harassed by the flies as he was before. I don't think this supplement is doing anything for him. He eats it fine, but then again he eats almost anything.

Love it
I used this product last summer on my three geldings and it worked wonderfully. I've started using it again this summer and still amazed at the results. I live in SC and bugs are absolutely ridiculous. Love this product!

Seems to be working
My mare has been on this 3 months now and we have only had on/ off buggy weather but last year she was bonkers about bugs and she definitely seems less upset this year.

Equinox 365 is a life saver!
Love both products in the program. My horse stay big bite free in the summer and has pep in his step in the winter. He's 22 so pep in his step is a good thing!

has not worked for my horses
i have been using this for about 2 months now and it has not worked at all. My horses have just as many flies and bites on them as the other horses. I would much rather spend my money on fly spray.

I have not been using this product for very long (about an month), but it seems to be working well. My horse eats it willingly, and I'm using it is addition to a fly sheet, fly boots and a fly mask. My horse is allergic to most fly sprays and he gets fly bites easily, and it seems like all of the combined efforts of all of these products are helping keep him fly-free!! Thanks SmartPak!!

I am a Believer - Warning long honest review
So I have used this product the last 3 years and I am a believer. I have 2 younger TBs and an older OTTB that all live on pasture. My OTTB gelding and my young mare are super sensitive to bug bites and get welts, knots and cuts from scraping on trees and fences. The youger TB gelding has an average reaction to big bites, but all three have in the past had soft tissue injuries from stomping too much, and have even taken chunks of hoof off. I added this 3 years ago hoping that it would help, it helps a lot! I still fight with gnat bites on my sensitive 2 (chest and inner ear) but have found that a daily application of CalmCoat, safely applied with cotton swabs to inner ear, keeps ears and chest clear. I always spray legs and belly after saddling with a spray repellant, for extra protection when riding. My average boy is bug free and rarely stomps hard when on this product, its noticeable how much less bothered he is than other average horses in the pasture.
I have also noticed that when going out to catch horses, mine don't have the cloud of bugs following us in the way that a lot of the others do.
In the pasture setting my horses live in fly masks, sheets and leg wraps do not stay on long, we have a couple of mischief makers in the herd who pull off the others' clothes, and have torn fly sheets, and I can't even count the number of fly masks that have completely vanished or been destroyed the first day out of the box. Now I know that I am doing everything in my power (and my budget) to help them, without wasting money on expensive and short lived equipment and sprays.
Palatability wise, my mare is a super finicky eater and I have to top dress her feed the first week or so back on this supplement due to the strong smell (with the garlic and vinegar it smells like a Chinese restaurant), but once she gets used to it being in her bucket again, she eats it with no trouble, and I can discontinue top dressing. I find alphalpha pellets and strawberry yogurt convince her to eat this. I can usually discontinue the yogurt by the end of the first week and the alphalpha pellets after 2 weeks.
The 360 is the best value for the BugOff Ultra, however I often discontinue the supplement in the winter, due to the fact that my horses refuse to eat powders, and I have to put them on a fat supplement in the coldest months, and the ounce or two in the smart pack is a drop in the bucket when my horses are on getting half to a full pound of a fat and Omega supplement added to their full feed rations to keep condition through the cold months.

Hasn't kicked in yet...
We just received the first delivery of Bug-Off a couple of weeks ago and started feeding it as soon as the last part of the previous supplement shipment was used up. We still had a weeks' worth of that left. There were no flies when we started feeding the Bug-Off, but they came out in force yesterday and caused a lot of problems. Hopefully, this product will work better after another week or so of feeding it.

Named appropriately, keeps bugs off.
Works well here in the winter, being in South Florida we have bugs year around. Wanted to get my horse started so hopefully will give him a head start on the hot summer months when we have lots of flies.

GReat fly repellent in extreme conditions
I used this on my one horse that is used around cattle. The cattle were covered with flys. My horse had very few flys on her and she was walking right beside the cattle. Awesome results.

I haven't seen that this product keeps the bugs away. I have only used it for 2 months. I will wait until next year to see if there's a difference after the horses have been on it longer.

Works great for ticks!
My 24 year old retired buddy is lucky to spend all day in a huge, beautiful field with tall grass and a stream. He and his turnout buddy have the life! : ) the downsides are a lot of bugs -- flies and ticks from the deer. I started using this supplement to help my horse enjoy his summer more. I can't say I see a difference in flies, but I can say it really helps deter ticks!! I haven't seen any burrow under his mane since starting the supplement (so gross and painful because they caused scabs :( and far fewer on his legs. That right there makes this supplement worth the money!!! Thank you Smart Pak! I also like how this will switch over to an Omega 3 in the winter. Neat idea!

Less flys means less problems for me and my horses. 3horses attract 3 times the flys in less of course you use Smart Pack Bug Off Ultra.

Love this product!
I have had my horses who are on turnout 24/7 for years. Love, love this product. One because it is not the harsh chemical of some sprays. I do use spray on legs when going out on trails but never do I have to in their field. Save a ton of money on sprays. Never had a problem with the smell or taste. Honestly it is a great product and my horses are picky eaters! Love finding no bites or ticks on them.

Wroks good
My 9 y/o Mustang gets little hive spots from bug bites and while he still had flies up and down his legs he had NO hives while on this. I didn't realize how good it was working until we quit it.

We purchased a new mate at the beginning of summer and we immediately noticed that she was extremely bothered by flies and insects. We just couldn't seem to get enough fly spray on her and she hated her turnout time. I purchased SmartBug-Off for her and within a week I saw a noticeable difference. She just started her second month on this product and is much more comfortable in turnout and less fussy during riding. We do still need to apply fly spray, but a light application does the trick!

Best feed thru bug control!
Tried just garlic last season. Won't do that again. Put my bug allergic mare on this and it really does work! This is the only product of this type that my mare will get from now on!!
