Not effective, no results
Tried this instead of Prascend for 30 year old mare. Unfortunately, this supplement didn't do anything. It's spring and there's no shedding of heavy hair coat. Product seems to have depressed her mood too (she's always perky). Was hoping for this as alternative to Prascend, but this didn't help any. (Prascend was much WORSE though, that caused anorexia of feed, eating shavings instead, depressed mood, plus no help shedding nor loss of abnormal fat deposits.)

Gelding too lethargic
I tried this to see if it would help my gelding’s seasonal aggressive and pushy behavior. It mellowed him out too much - he was almost groggy. I tried a half dose and that may have been a little better but still not the awareness I want for my dressage horse. He seemed to gain weight also (maybe due to moving less?). Just not the right thing for him.

Not good for my horse.
I purchased this product, with another, from SmartPak because of its possible benefits to slow shedding horses. In a matter of just a few days (maybe 4 or 5) my gelding started behaving in a stressed manner. I noticed the change and so did the barn owner, who is super knowledgeable and very aware of any behavior changes. I took him off this supplement and called SmartPak. As usual, customer service was wonderful and helpful, plus I was asked to fill out a questionnaire and speak to a representative regarding the horse and his reaction to the product. This is so "smart" of SmartPak as they then have info that may be helpful to someone else. After taking my gelding off Chasteberry, it was only a matter of a few days until he was back to his normal behavior. Like people, not all products are good for EVERY horse.
I have been using SmartPak supplements for almost 17 years and this was the first time one of my five horses had a reaction. I LOVE SmartPak and am happy to continue using their supplements and purchasing their other products as well.
PS- I cannot say there is anything wrong with this product, just that it did not agree with my horse. I don't want to say yes or no as to recommending, as how would I know if it works for some other horse.

Glad to find this in a easy to administer form!
Much easier to get my pony to eat what must be a tasty pellet (he is very finicky) that dealing with liquids over his grain. Very reasonable price and SmartPaks always prompt delivery.

Effective and inexpensive
My mare is on this product and we love it. I purchased her in the winter and didn’t get to experience her cycle into months after owning her. She wasn’t moody just very uncomfortable and jumpy, not wanting to take contact and super hollowed out. I wanted to take the most natural route for helping her first before trying more intense hormonal routes. This worked right off the bat. I literally cannot tell when she is in heat now. She’s so much more comfortable and confident at all times. Before starting this she was a more “aware” horse and would be a bit on the spooky side. That has changed as well with this product. She’s very consistent now and isn’t so “looky”. Love this product

Mare is much happier
My mares first heat of the year was intense and lasted forever but she seemed much better after starting her on this. I wasn’t sure if it was the chasteberry until my replacement order was delayed and I ran out. She immediately went into a raging heat and was suffering with pain and swelling. I will definitely keep her on this. I’m a believer
