Necessary evil
My mare is very, very sensitive and picky and already hates to be wormed. It's bad enough when I have to do it once every three months (as recommended for our area by my vet), but at least enough time elapses betewen wormings that I think she "forgets" how much she hates it, and so I can kind of sneak up on her and just stuff the ivermectin syringe in her mouth. Plus the ivermectin doesn't seem to taste that bad to my mrae. But FIVE DAYS IN A ROW of double-dosed fenbendazole? It's absolute torture for both of us, since the memory of what the syringe looks and tastes like is fresh in her mind, and plus I think this must taste REALLY awful, as my mare will just stand there miserably and stiffly with her mouth tightly shut, refusing to eat or drink for up to an hour after I get the dose in her. So by day 3, when she sees me coming, there's no fooling her. :( Nevertheless, this is supposedly the only product that will get rid of all stages of encysted larvae, so I feel it has to be done...thus, I battle through days 3, 4, and 5, LOL. My mare is shiny and healthy and in good weight, and I do this every other year in April (plus ivermectin every 3 months, and then Equimax in winter and Quest Plus in late summer), so I would imagine it's working (admittedly, I don't get fecal egg counts, but I honestly don't know any other owner who does). I have also used this with previous horses to good effect (but again, any intelligent horse will come to resent 5 days straight of worming IMHO!! LOL). Thus, I recommend this as a necessary evil! I have heard, though, that one shouldn't do it in a wormy horse or a horse with unknown worming history, as the massive kill-off of worms could really hurt them (just use ivermectin for a while in these horses until a solid history has been established, then consider doing a PowerPac).

Good product
Love the powerpac. We use them twice a year in our worming rotation. The tubes are such a huge amount that some horses really don't like the volume they have to consume at once. Gets pretty messy and sloppy on some horses that don't like the volume. Other than that, the product is great and does a great job at keeping our horses healthy! Convenient 5 syringe pack. Easy to order. Fast shipping.

I only worm my horse yearly and do fecal counts during the rest of the year. This product is great for a this type of parasite control regimen.

Great Price
My mare colicked twice in one month so along with our vet we decided to treat her with Panacur Power Pak. Much to my surprise my local supplier priced it at nearly $20 more than SmartPak! I added it to my usual supplement order so there wasn't even a shipping cost. Power Pak along with Sand Purge seems to be the answer. She is doing great and doesn't look bloated anymore.

Mixed results
I bought this to use on my show horse earlier this fall when she blew her show coat before Congress. It took a little work to figure out the directions and she was not a fan of the taste either. Unfortunately it did not cause her to shed at all but it did really improve her hair coat, making it less noticeable that she had longer hair, despite already being on Mirra-Coat. I think I will continue to use this annually, but not rely on it to make her shed if she hairs up in the fall again.

Wish it were apple flavored for my hard to worm horse. I have used the Safeguard apple flavor power dosing wormer on him with no problems, but he hates and fights the Panacur product. SmartPak carries the Safeguard regular dose wormer, why not the Power dose version too?

Power Packed!
What a difference a week makes! The poor man's gastrogard not only soothed my new pony's gut but jump started his deworming process. He looks like a different horse in just one week!

REALLY helps with a new horse
I bought a big paint gelding from a kill buyer at the the slaughter pens and he (of course) was sick. He was covered in fly bites, wormy and had systemic complications from Strangles.
Powerpac and fly control really helped him get him moving forward! I followed up with Equimax in 4 weeks and did a feed thru for a few months to get him up and running! He is looking good now (in his FlyMask I got from Smartpak :) and we are living happily ever after!
I do think it advised to talk with your vet first before using PowerPac.
My only product suggestion is that they make it in Apple flavor, as it is a large tube and by Day 2 (not to mention the remaining Days 3,4 & 5!) it was progessively more difficult to paste worm him.

Excellent wormer
I have an old-fashioned, heavy (1700 lbs.) Friesian who loves his Panacur Powerpac. Thank goodness, because if he didn't, five days of administering one and a-half syringes would be a nightmare!

It definitley works!
My Egyptian Arabian is very susceptible to pin worms for some reason. This spring, they were pretty bad. He is stalled and does not have grass pasture access her in California. So I have no idea how he is getting these worms. I did the 5 day powerpak and they are gone! I think it may have even rid him of other things in his system. His coat is so much shinier and his dapples are finally showing through! Highly recommend!

Changed my horses attitude!
My horse started to become food aggressive towards other horses. It was a change in her & it was pretty bad, seemed like she couldn't get enough to eat (EVER). She didnt lose any weight or anything but I was worried. A friend suggested that maybe she had a parasite & to look into power packing her. I spoke with my vet & she also suggested we start with power packing & then if need be, go on to blood work etc.
I purchased panacur through smartpak & we did the 5 days in a row as directed....WOW!! This stuff is amazing!! I am so glad that panacur helped my mare get back to her sweet self!! I don't know what pesty parasite she had but THANK YOU PANACUR & Thank you Smartpak!!!!!

My mare loves this stuff!
She about took me down for her daily dose. She'd grab the syringe and try to eat it! This made it extremely easy to use. The only time some was lost was on the very first day when she dribbled some out of her mouth. She promptly ate it (shavings stuck to it and all) off the ground though and then licked the leftover stuff off the outside of the syringe.

Powerpac does the job!
Recently we had a new TB filly come into the barn. The trainer indicated she had been in a worming program but judging her condition and lack of weight gain over a few weeks, we decided to Powerpac her even though its winter. We are delighted with the results, her weight is picking up nicely, she seems less lethargic and happier all the way around - while I'm sure some of that is due to general settling in -I'm convinced that the Powerpac was the way to go and we will likely be employing it every time we get a new horse in the barn with unknown history

Great Idea!
Excellant Product and easy to use.....Once I deciphered the instructions. The horses even quit spitting it on me by the 4th day. Would use it again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get the upperhand on pests!

Great for all horses
A safe product to use for encysted strongyles. Though it is more expensive, I prefer it to Quest Moxidectin because it is safer, especially for my malnourished rescue horses, that have an unknown deworming history. I use it for all my horses at least once a year.

Panacur Power Pack was recommended to me by vet for our underweight horse. It is widely used for encysted strongyle larvae. We shall see. Product was as expected and on time.

Our Spring Ritual
My horses get a PowerPac every spring and it is totally worth the $50. I describe it as "hitting the reset button" on parasite infestation. The horses always seem to grow in beautiful spring coats with dapples and they look like a million bucks.

Completely worth it!
Panacur Powerpac makes it so easy to get great broad spectrum de-worming. I love being able to add it on to my normal smarkpak shipment.

Worked Great!
I purchased this Powerpac at the advice of my vet for my 22 yr old Appaloosa who was having loose stools. Although he didn't like the taste at all, it worked great on him, and his stools became much firmer after its use. I have now added Fastrack at the advice of my vet as well.

power pak
I use this wormer once a year on all my horses. As an added benefit (beside the worming) is increased weight gain on hard keepers, and seems to make the coat shed out easier and much more glossy

Surprizingly Easy, Even on Day 5!
I was hesitant at first to give this to my expensive show horse, for fear she'd have a reaction to five days of repetitive treatment. (I once had a horse to reacted to a simple double-dose of pyrantel pamoate). With the Powerpac, there were no reactions at all, and she remained just as spunky as ever. This was easier to use than when I use normal one-syringe product at 2-month intervals. It must taste really good, because even on the 5th day (when I expected her to run the other way when she saw me coming), she willingly swallowed the whole powerpack dose. We got it all IN her, not ON both of us...every single day. I will definitely buy this product again.

Excelent deworming program
This program was recommended to me by a vet for my mare. It is easy to use. Unfortunately it doesn't have a flavor (such as apple) so the very picky horses may not put up with it. It effectively clears the worms out of my horse. Make sure to read the instructions

Best Wormer out there
I've used Panacur faithfully for years now, on both my horses. I became a believer after I had taken a friends horse to Davis for a recurring medical issue.
During the mare's diagnostic, the vets mentioned that her tracks were as clean as they had ever seen and asked my friend what she was feeding and if she was using a daily wormer. She said she did not use a daily wormer, but had just completed the 5 day Panacur Powerpac.
Long story short, I've been using it ever since (as directed - twice per year), with great success. My horses take it easily and there are no side effects, even though I have a very picky Arab and a medicine "sensitive" Appy.

Great Product
I rescued a 15yo TB in November 2009. Horse was very thin with a body score of a 3. A friend and vet suggested the Panacue Powerpack. No bad side effects at all! (unless you count the horse hating the entire process) Very effective, horse has been able to gain weight easily since.

WoW-it really works
I rescued a horse in February of 2009. He was very thin, long feet, bad teeth, etc. I wormed him, had his feet done, had his teeth floated and slowly tried to get the weight back on him using hay and a high fat grain. He came back quickly and in a matter of 2 months looked considerably better. But over the course of the summer he just didn't look as good as my other horse (shiny coat, bloom, etc) and he occasionally had very loose stools. Finally a couple people recommened I try the Power Pac. I did - and within one week I could already see a difference in him. I was amazed! No loose stools and he has put on a few pounds and just LOOKS better. Can't wait to see how he looks in another month!
