Superior
My first horse I bought was an ex-eventer, and I used him for riding in lessons, trail riding, showjumping, hunter classes, etc. Suddenly one day, he came down hard with really bad arthritis and stiffness in his hocks, so bad that some days he could barely walk. We ended up getting him a couple shots a year into his hocks and it worked, but not completely. Our vet recommended this to work along with the steroid shots he was getting and sure enough he came right back to his normal self! We mixed the powder with molasses or applesauce and he ate it all right up.

Does a Great Job!
We use this on my wife's mare who is a hunter/jumper. We have had her on Cosequin since we purchased her 2+ years ago. She has had no joint issues or soreness. This is a terrific product.

So easy to use....
Our horse gets her smartpak supplement every evening. So easy at feeding time while feeding 21 horses to open it up mix it in her food and move on. She never refuses it and so clean and easy to use. As a jumper horse we feel she benefits so much and with it she will have a long healthy show life.

worth the money!
my mare is moving so much better on cosequin! although i haven't tried other products, i just read such great things about cosequin that i don't want to switch! my friend's gelding is also on cosequin now and he is moving better now too...i may not be able to compare this product to other joint supplements but it definitely works and makes a noticeable difference.

Great investment
I have tried so many other joint supplements for my mare. Cosequin is manufactured the way my vet told me was the best, with low molecular weight that actually absorbs readily in the body. I have definitely seen a change in my 22 year old mare who would constantly have a difficult time taking her right lead. Now she has no problem. Very pleased with this product!!

The Best Joint Help
I will not say this is for every horse. After all just like us some do well on one and not the other. If you plan on trying it I recommend starting with the smartpaks or the small jar first to see if it helps your horse or not.
My paint mare has done wonderfully on it and it seems to help a lot with her old injuries during the winter. Keep in mind she's still young, at only 8 1/2 years old. However she fractured her hip when she was 2, had colic surgery when she was 5, and last summer ripped her shoulder to the point that we thought she might have to be put down or would never be rideable again. With the help of Cosequin she has remained sound during the cold weather that would otherwise irritate her old injuries. This summer we will be learning to jump and maybe moving up to 1st level in dressage. Cosequin will help keep her moving at her best for the show ring and the little kids we give lessons to.
If you need a joint supplement I recommend at least giving this a try.

Great Product!
I use this joint supplement on all my horses from young to old. It is great for maintaining their joint health while they are competing or in training. It is backed by research so what you buy is actually what you get. My husband is a veterinarian and recommends this product as well. We have used this product for many years.

Smartpak Cosequin-should have done it years ago!
I have been feeding my horse cosequin for over 2 years now by buying the containers of Cosequin and measuring it into baggies for each day for our barn feeders to add to his grain in morning. God only knows how much of it I spilled or that stayed stuck in the baggy when fed. I just started having it premeasured by Smartpak- now the amount is exact, no mess, no time and the feeders love it as it is soo much easier for them. Price wise I think the difference is minimal. I should have done this a year ago!

The Jury is still out...
This product comes highly recommended but I have some doubts about joint supplements in general so "the jury is still out." I'm using Cosequin as a maintenance supplement for an endurance horse. I add it daily to her wet beet pulp and she eats it without any issues.
So far (two weeks in) I notice no changes and no ill effects but I expected neither. So it's very hard to know whether the product is working or not.

Powdered supplements
Not working with my horse - he's eating around the powder and leaving supplements in feeding pan. I'm trying Cosequin and Smartcalm - have not noticed any physical improvements from either one yet. I've only been using them for 3 weeks, so they may need more time. I'd prefer a more palatable supplement in pellet form.

Good Value but Didn't Deliver
I have a 12 year old off the track TB. Her joints are in good shape for all the abuse they have handled. I had many friends suggest Cosequin to me because it had worked for all of their horses, so I decided to give it a try. I was very pleased at first, it did a good job and kept her from getting stiff. After the first month or less I noticed Daisy was getting stiff again. So I increased the dose from 2 scoops to 4. It did nothing. I have been giving her 4 scoops a day and it is doing nothing. She ate it like it was candy but it has done nothing for her joints. It's a great value but it just didn't deliver for Daisy.

What other products compare to!
There is a reason why other products mention "same ingredients as..." or "same results as....", the bar was set by Cosequin and all others still aspire to reach it. I wish it wasn't the case as it is not inexpensive to use, no matter what you read. But it works and that, at least, the bottom line.

What a difference
Rhett Butler is a saddlebred rescue who spent many years on the road with the Amish. He has struggled with soreness but Cosequin has helped him tremendously. He is now happy, sound and working with me under saddle.

too expensive
Personally, I really can't afford suppliments which cost this much each month. Tried it to see if the product was really worth the expense knowing I would not continue its use. Hyla Rx Complete is a better, more cost effective compound which hits all the bases for joint care.

MIRACLE STUFF!!!
We have a 16 year old Quarter Horse gelding with navicualr disease and arthritis. His problem was aggravated by the farrier trimming literally over half of his hooves off. We tried steroid injections in his coffin joint to help his navicular, but his body reacted badly to the steroids and made him even lamer. Due to the farrier trimming off so much of his hooves (not to mention setting his shoes wrong), his soles were weakened and he got deep sole bruises on both front feet over the winter. There were a few people that believed in him still, but most people believed we would have to put him to sleep. Our new farrier came up with a shoeing approach that helped him immensely, but there were still almost crippling times for him. There were many, many days where he couldn't even make it out of his stall, and even more days when he wouldn't lead or put any weight on at least one of his front feet because the pain was so intense. After another crippling period, we decided that we had to do something more aggressive, so we looked into Cosequin after much research. Within ONE WEEK of the loading dose, Jack is walking faster than he has in a year, trotting, and bucking and playing in his pasture. It's so wonderful to look into those eyes and not see them filled with pain!
And thank you to Smart Pak- without you, we never would have been able to afford this product. It's $150 in our area for a smaller bucket!
As for the palatability, Jack is a very picky eater anyway, so the way we get him to eat it is by holding his pan for him and mixing the oats and Cosequin together. Add a drop or two of water and stir it- the oats and the supplements stick together so he has to get the Cosequin!
Jack's message and our message to the world is that if you truly love your horse, do not give up on him! With enough persistence and love, even the worst cases of a debilitating problem can be helped.

Seems to work
I recently started my horse on cosequin after he began having problems with his hock. He is only seven, so I was hoping to find a prouct that I can use long term. After 1 1/2 weeks on cosequin Artax seemed more comfortable and willing. It seems that this product is worth the money for me!!!

Helped my Older Gelding
I have a 17 year old TB gelding who used to do 4' eventing when he was younger and therefore has hock troubles now. I ordered Cosequin after using Adequin injections with little result. He went from pulling on his forehand and leaning with his shoulders to carrying himself on his hind end and is a much handier dressage mount now. I am very impressed with this product, so although pricey, its definitely worth it.

2 weeks- noticed a difference
I have already noticed less stiffness in my 13 yr. old Tb gelding. For the past couple months he has been alittle short in the r front when I first ride him- Within the past week it is gone!

Snap, crackle, and pop
My OTTB was raced until he was 6, and at the age of 15, was definitly showing the wear and tear of such a long career. My husband often joked we should call him Rice Krispies because of the sounds he made while walking, especially in the morning. More importantly though, he was starting to show he was uncomfortable, especially after a longer or harder ride. After trying some of the cheaper alternatives and not seeing any relief, my vet told me to just spend the money on Cosequin if I wanted to keep my guy comfortable and useful. I did, and noticed a clear improvement after 3 weeks. The snap, crackle, and pop is gone, and my horse has not been lame or stiff since (he's been on it for over a year). I even started my new (and much younger) OTTB on a Cosequin prophylacticly since he was raced for several years as well. Good luck!

It works
I first tried this product on an older horse that had arthritis, navicular, previously broke his sesomoid, etc. He was on it for about 6 months and was doing well, so I just stopped using it, since I wasn't sure if Cosequin was what was making the difference. Well, he got worse noticeably. So, I put him back on it and he was happy and comfortable again. So, now I use it on my racehorses. There are so many joint supplements out there and you don't know if you can trust the label, but this one is guaranteed what's in there. And the low molecular weight means you horse is actually absorbing it and not just passing it through. Love this stuff!

I love Cosequin!
My 18 yr old Walking Horse has been on Cosequin for 10 years. I also fed MSM with it before alternative versions of it were produced with the MSM. It keeps his joints supple, non-creaky, and is economical.

Great Product
This Product came recommended from my Vet. My horse suffers from Navicular disease in his front legs, and because I cannot ride often gets very stiff in his hind. He has been on this product for two weeks and I can already see the difference in his step. This product is a little expensive but worth it. I have taken him of the Beut, and he is very comfortable with this supplement and the MSM.
