Bye Bye Fly is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 171.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Garlic Great Garlic Flakes for horses. Had to soak mine in water, she prefers applesauce, anything to hide the flavor. But my horse is very picky. I feed her more of it so I know she gets a portion of it. Then whatever she leaves she will get next time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The horses all eat this with no problem. The flies don't seem to be on them this year as previous years. Will continue to use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from pizzaria in the barn? I love this product! Its organic, my horse eats it up quickly, and the flakes are small! I have seen such a difference in the amount of ticks I find on my mare. I used to pick ticks off everytime she came in from the pasture and would find multiple ticks all over her! Now I give her a good rub over with my hand and find one maybe every so often. She has two bug bites which is a huge change from the usual amount last summer, and also there is hardly any flies in my barn! I have even started feeding garlic to my pigs to help keep down the fly activity in the barn as well, and honestly it really is working! It does not keep the moose and horse flys away but the house flies and black flies are no where to be found! I used to coat her in fly spray twice a day but now I spritz her in the afternoon to help with the horse flies. I love this, why have I not been feeding all my livestock garlic all these years!?! Best thing is my barn smells like an Italian pizzaria :) yum!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to be working I am not real sure yet, but it seems to be helping. Not 100%, but may 65%. They eat it just fine and it has never been left behind. It hasn't gotten real hot here yet but the flies have been biting and the ticks really have, but it just seems they are not as bothered by them as much so far this year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy! My horse, "Kramer" appears to be bothered less by flies & mosquitoes since using the garlic flakes for a month. He absolutely loves the taste and will eat them out of my hand. Also, he doesn't smell like a giant garlic-y meatball!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not so sure yet.... I have been using the garlic flakes for about a month....at times my horses cough seems lighter...I am not sure about the flies yet...I want to continue using it for awhile longer before I decide for sure. My Bashkir gelding has no problem eating up the flakes though!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some What Disappointed ?? Flies are not thick around S. Indiana but they aren't nonexistent. My horses still have flies after being on the flakes for three months but they don't have as many as the horses who aren't. I would say my horses have half as many flies around them and in the stall they have none. The mosquitos are totally avoiding my mare though, the giant deer flies are not detoured sadly. I would advise this if you have an extra $7 a month to splurge and want to make life tolerable for your horse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from does so much for the price! Ive always fed my horses garlic long before it was "cool" to do so. but I'm so glad to see that smartpak is now caring a basic garlic at a good price. the quilty of this brand is amazing its human grade and smells oh so yummy id eat it! my horse loves the tast so much you would think i was feeding her sweet feed. Ive had a lot of people tell me it does not work, but I have always seen a diffrence when my horses get feed it and when they dont. it does take a good month (4-6 weeks) just like any other supplement to get into the system. how it works: 1) once it gets in the system it helps to keep the common fly away from the horses because the smell of the garlic in the stall drives them away but also more importantly it keeps the flies away from the horses wast witch in turns takes away there breeding ground reducing the flies. 2) it helps to repel blood sucking insects such as the horse/deer fly, tics, and misquotes. when it gets into the horses system these pests don't like the "taste" of the blood any more. meaning they tend to leave the horse alone. 3) when feed year round it helps to boost there immune system. it really helped a mare i had who use to always get sick no matter what i did, after feeding her garlic she very rarely got her "normal" colds. if your like me and you travel and show a lot this is a nice cheep easy way to keep your horse from picking up "the bugs" that are out there. 4) it helps the look of there coats makes them nice and shinny! :) and at about $7 a month for all of that how can you beat that? oh and by keeping the fly population down this means way less fly spray and way less money spent on it. oh and NO my horse never "smelled funny" because of it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worth a try! I bought this product to help with my 27 year old appy mares coughing. Well she was eating it for a little while. She now smells funny and won't eat the other supplements. I can't say if it did the job I wanted it to do but it did help with flys. I have taken her off the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as I had hoped! So far so good and I pleased! The bugs are here already and my horse is willingly eating the flakes (as is - no need to crumble) and the flies aren't bothering him as much as in years past. He suffers terribly from allergies and, hopefully, the itching, terrible stomping, and teary eyes will be a thing of the past!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tasting our horse is normally picky but he seems to eat this product with no problem. We are hoping it will help with the fly bites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garlic for Bugs My horses may not have good breath, unless you are Italian, but no flies around the eyes since taking garlic!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Quality! I have a 10 year old ISH who is super sensitive to bugs and has seasonal allergies in the spring. My horse doesn't like the taste, so I have to grind them up a little. This product has really helped with the bugs and no more cough! His seasonal allergies don't bother him at all since starting this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Horse wouldn't eat it My horse wouldn't eat it. Although he is picky anyways. But they seem really high quality and I brought them home to use in my cooking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from REAL garlic Wow, I expected flakes like one would find in the grocery store...no, these are the real thing. Seems to be working...less bugs!
Date published: 2011-10-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great organic product! My horse just LOVES this garlic! It smells like a pizza is baking while he's eating it.
Date published: 2011-10-12
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a bug deterrent Unfortunately, this product did not work as a bug deterrent . My horse did eat it, however (he eats everything). Not sure what the other health benefits are.
Date published: 2011-08-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product I was looking for a natural bug repellent for my mare since she is very thin skinned and gets eaten alive by flies and mosquitoes. I ended up ordering the flakes even after reading a few reviews that horses wouldn't eat it. I have the pickiest mare....She won't eat her grain unless its wet down just right, mixed correctly, facing north, and delivered by rollerskates (last two are an exaggeration but gives the idea). The first couple days, she wasn't too sure but and picked around it a little but now she inhales it no problem. I've noticed the flies don't bother her as much but it doesn't work all that well in the back country with biting flies, etc. Seems to work pretty well with mosquitoes too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Garlic Flakes do help I have purchased Garlic Flakes to help my warmblood with his respiratory issues, and it seems to help. After I stopped giving him his flakes, he started coughing again...stopped after re-starting the garlic. Also, give the Garlic Flakes to my Arabian for overall health and summer fly control. Can't comment really on the fly control as I don't really see much of a difference, but boy his coat is shinny! Don't know if that's to do with the garlic or not. He doesn't mind the taste at all, eats every bit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does not last 166 days... Love this product but there is NO way the large bag lasts 166 days! I have had it for a few weeks and have been following the dosing based on the enclosed scoop. I have 2 horses and the bag is almost gone. I would say it lasts more like 66 days for 1 horse (maybe if that).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bye bye bugs Duke has been on Garlic Flakes for about a month now and it has really made a difference! When we are out riding with friends, he's not the horse the bugs go to anymore.
Date published: 2011-07-23
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ok purchase... I bought this in the large bag..was hoping it would help keep the gnats from eating him and making him rub his tail out from being so itchy. He's been on it a month (had him on it for a month or two a month before this) and I don't think it's done squat... =( I really hoped it would. He's on 2sc a day...thought about upping him to 3sc but I don't want to hurt or kill him. lol Though, he's a slow eater and is on pasture 24/7...he gets the flakes in the morning and doesn't really eat all his grain at once..but throughout the day. The garlic flakes DO keep the flies from swarming his sweet feed though. I'll use the rest of this product, but doubt I'll buy it again. =/ Oh, and he's PICKY about what he eats...but he'll eat the flakes no problem...actually will eat them out of my hand like a treat.
Date published: 2011-07-18
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not to par for equine palate NONE of the 5 horses I tried feeding this to liked it, even my 'vacuum cleaner' pony who eats absolutely everything. No amount of sweet freed or treats could get them to eat it, so after a week of throwing out their evening supplements, I opted for the fly spray. And, as my daughter pointed out, can't we just give them regular garlic at a fraction of the cost?
Date published: 2011-06-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't go without! My horse was a little hesitant about eating this at first, but once he got used to it he was fine. He has a fine haircoat and I keep his tail in a bag, even in the Summer months. He hardly swishes. Went on a trail ride today in 85 degrees with 95% humidity, and he was definitely not phased by any bugs. Great supplement, he would normally be in panic mode less than halfway through due to bug bites. :) And the best price and value ever!!!
Date published: 2011-06-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garlic that is easy to work with These garlic flakes are the easiest garlic product to use. It is easy to feed and it won't leave you smelling like garlic the rest of the day, even if you happen to get some on you, which is less likely to happen than the messy powder products. I started with just a few flakes in my horses feed to get them used to the smell and worked my way up to 1 or 2 scoops, which they eat with no hesitation now.
Date published: 2011-05-28
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actually saw a difference! Definitely saw a difference in the flys in my horse's stall after I put him on this supplement. He loves it!
Date published: 2011-05-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Mosquitoes! Love this supplement. The mare I have it on is not finicky and eats it right up. This year she is very dappled, shiny, and not a flying pest around her. She is allergic to mosquitoes and rubbed her mane and top of her tail out completely by summer. This year no rubbing! Yeah! Great product!
Date published: 2011-05-06
Rated 2 out of 5 by from My Horse Disliked. This product is good if you sprinkle the garlic chips around your horse, but my horses hated it in there feed. They wouldn't even touch there grain, I had to pick it out. If you sprinkle it around them on the ground, the flies do, kinda leave them alone.
