Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice whip This is an apparently well-made whip, long enough to do the ground work for my novice driving horse, and to help with learning him to "park" from the saddle. Pretty long to ride with, but that was expected. This is a very long whip, but has the leather popper that I prefer. I've only had it out a few times since I received it so can't comment on how it will hold up, but I have confidence it will get the job done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Whip This whip is great for schooling youngsters. There is no flash so it will not tickle and cause unnecessary bucks... LOVE it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Whip at a Great Price I purchased this whip a few weeks ago and have been using it with a very sensitive thoroughbred. It was one of the only whips with a leather keeper that I could find below $60. The cues are clear, and I like that the whip cues the horse more with noise than anything else. The whip is long and flexible, allowing for cues without having to make an excessive motion with your hand - its great when trying to focus on things that require a consistent contact. I was surprised at how long 120 cm really is - if you have a pony/smaller horse or are looking for a whip that touches just behind your leg instead of on the horse's hindquarters, you might want to find something a bit shorter - this whip would go below my horse's stomach if I tried to cue right behind my leg. All in all, a great product - high quality, the leather keeper is staying on the whip just fine, and it still looks as good as new.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poorly Made Great whip - light, springy, and I love the tab on the end (as opposed to a tassle). BUT they fall apart on the first use. I had the first one replaced (SmartPak made me pay the return shipping, FYI), but plan to try to repair the second one. The tab needs to be removed, and glued on. I hope I can remember how to re-lash over the leather! The real problem is that the whip quickly becomes too long to be legal, when the tab starts to work off of the end.As long as you don't mind doing a bit of re-engineering, a great whip! Otherwise, the quality is poor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The popper is the key I've discovered that it's hard to find a dressage whip with a popper--most only have a lash at the end--so I was glad to order one here. In my view, having a popper on the end makes the whip more effective: I feel that the POP noise gets your message across to the horse without having to increase the pain level when using a lash. And after all, that's what you want, right? A horse that responds to the lightest aid possible?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this whip I am always borrowing my trainers whips. The ones I have been using aren't really long enough for my horse. So when I saw this whip in the smartpak catalog, I had to have it, I love it is nice and long and I don't have to reach around to tap my horse with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really unique! A flat-end dressage whip, what a cool idea! My horse is super sensitive with a whip, and he scoots at even the slightest touch from the traditional tassel-ended whips. This style allows a more broad, flat area of contact rather than that quick little tickle which tends to set him off. Plus, those tassels are always getting caught on things and inevitably ripped off, leaving the plastic end exposed.
