Cashel Western Trail Saddle is rated 4.6667 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent saddle, especially at this price! I own an older model of this saddle, made before they added the adjustable rigging. It has been a great saddle for me, and has fit my horses exceptionally well. The short skirt is great on short-backed horses and the light weight is nice for ease of tacking, and for the horse on long rides. I have ridden this saddle for 4-5 hour trail rides at varying speeds and terrain with no soreness for me or my horse. This saddle allows the rider to sit in a balanced position, on the flat or tackling tough terrain, without forcing you into the dreaded western "chair seat". The leather is high quality, no squeaking and the workmanship is top notch. I disliked the tinybarrel stirrups, but those were easy to replace. This saddle is a great investment for someone needing a comfortable, balanced, everyday saddle for arena or trail!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality leather saddle for the price Still not sure how well I like the saddle. Bought it in the spring and have been using it on the horses I bought it for all summer. The leather is nice and of good quality with nice stitching and tooling. The first thing I noticed was the angle of the metal billet holders on the saddle were at a weird angle and seemed to be digging into the horses side on the side facing the rear. The more I use it, the more it seems to be working out a bit but does still not lay flat against the side of the horse as it should. The seat with the memory foam is definitely not made to fit a woman. It is too wide in the crotch area and was very uncomfortable when I first started riding in it. It would somewhat dig into my inside thighs. As I break it in, it seems to be better but is still too wide for women in my opinion. It also seemed to sit me more forward that I was used to but again, as I break it in, the seat pocket seems to be better and not an issue any more. The stirrup leathers were not formed so were very uncomfortable on the ankles but without the stirrups being formed that is to be expected. Just expect to have to try and form the stirrup leathers when you purchase this saddle. All in all it is a good quality saddle for the price. I purchased the wide tree and am thinking I should have purchased the regular tree, but it fits my one horse very well and the other one OK. I like that the stirrup leathers are adjustable for very short people which I have experienced as an issue on other saddles, and not the cheap ones either. It is nice to have all the rings for attaching saddle bags and other articles needed for trail riding. Would have been nice if it would have come with a back cinch so that was an added expense needed to get the saddle trail ready. With the new leather it is very noisy (squeaky). I have heard of different things to help alleviate that problem but would be nice if saddle makers could figure out how to avoid the noise issue of new saddles. I am not dissatisfied with the saddle and seems to be getting better the more I ride in it, but still do not like how the billet holders lay. If you are looking for a decent saddle for a workable price, this saddle is probably one of the better bets. Have not had any issues with my horses getting sore in their back from it after long hard rides, which is a definitely plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saddle at a great price. I have custom saddles, and they are just too heavy. So after much research looking for a light weight quality saddle that fits my horse when moving, allowing full shoulder extension and able to round up his back, the Cashel trail saddle fit the bill. It is so easy to put on my horse. The saddle is made by Martin Saddlery. Excellent leather and comfortable seat. The 3 position rigging is a nice extra. Don't hesitate if you want a light weight, comfortable, good looking, saddle.
