Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect boot! Should have gone with my gut.... Needing to replace my boots after almost 10yrs and a nasty fall that ended with them being cut off, I started shopping for a new pair when I was fully recovered. My local tack shop had the Ariat Quantum Pro Field boots on sale for a clearance price of $200 (their regular price is $569.99). They were a little snug in the calf but I remembered how quickly my last pair of Ariat boots broke in so I figured they would just need time. I couldn't have been more wrong. After wearing riding until I had blisters and walking around the house in the house as well, the leather just never softened. I even tried having them stretched before the zipper broke. Still no luck. Hopefully I'll be able to find them a new home for someone with super skinny legs!I got my Ariat Heritage Field boots on Tuesday and, they are already broken in and I haven't even had time to ride! The leather is so soft and supple that I've been wearing them while exercising on my indoor rowing machine! It gives me full range of motion on the lower legs, ankles, and knees creating the perfect drop and mold to my ankles and calves. Simply, I LOVE THESE BOOTS! Moral of the story, just because something costs more certainly doesn't mean it's the best product. Thanks SmartPak for always having what I need!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent price point for a good boot I bought these in a short and wide calf and was skeptical as to how well they'd fit since most everything that size is just a tad too small. When they arrived the leather was very supple and not super stiff which helped a lot to get them on. My body type would probably need a custom boot if Ariat did not offer these field boots in the short/wide... they fit me pretty well! A bit snug but they will loosen up once broken in and be as close to perfect as I can get without paying a fortune for custom. Would highly recommend for someone looking for a modest boot without breaking the bank!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not great The leather is super soft, but these dropped a to so now they are way to short and the calf was to big even with the slim size. Now I have to try the treadstep because I love these boots but they just don't fit right. They were to short fit after I broke them in. And no they were not to short when I bought them. But if they fit you right they are ok. Buttons are also really hard to u clip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable boots I've ever owned This is the first pair of boots I've bought that have a zipper. I wish I had done it sooner. They are extremely comfortable right from the start both walking on the ground and riding--no break in time with blisters and sore feet. The only problem I had was that the first time I rode in them, the zipper tab scratched my saddle because I didn't have it tucked under the leather flap. Now I know. I can't comment on durability because I've had them less than a month, but if even if they only last a year, they'll be worth buying again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely boots but a beast to break in I love these boots! They have been mistaken for custom several times. They are very comfortable to ride in now that they're broken in. They were easy to break in at the ankle but the tops were terrrible! It took the entire summer riding in them 5 days a week for them to not give me blisters on the back of my knees! fyi those special band-aids for blisters were my best friend! Great quality, value and durability!
