The first pair lasted that long, until they were just too worn at bottom to be as effective at protection. They wash up well. I tried another brand and ended up sending them back as they started to wear after a few weeks. Went back to Valena's - and am happy I did!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First rate materials I have used these boots for years and have found them to be durable fleece dressage boots. Plus they keep the leg cooler than most boots on the market. I have tried many brands of boots but keep coming back to the Valena Wool-lined boots. The stitching on the bottom with wear will need to be repaired but it is an easy fix. I am still using one set of these boots that is at least 8 years old and washed in the washer at least twice each week.

I see the cheaper boots my friends have purchased falling apart within a year. So worth the money, buying a second set only because I am getting another horse, my old ones are still going strong!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from better than the competitor but..... They are very different interior. Much easier to clean and dry so require less laundering. The XL oddly only has 2 velcro so concerned about durability. The straps get a bit wavy with use and stretched a bit. The boot itself is great but not loving the strap material. Will see how long they last as the DSBs are useless.

Well made and fits my horse's legs well. I am going to buy the hind leg boots next time my SmartPak order is due. Thank you Toklat and SmartPak :)

I did have to return mine though, as the size large was a tad small for my horses hind legs (he's 17.1 H warmblood). I think an XL will work though. I like the fact that there's no seam-tape along the edges - nothing to tear off. Very nice boot.
