Trophy Tails Hunter Tail Extensions are made from 100% natural un-dyed horsehair taken from LIVE horses. Only live horses that are well cared for have the glossy healthy hair that we feel will blend with your horse’s beautiful healthy tail. One pound tails come standard 38 inches long and half pound tails come standard 37 inches long. This is typically much longer than is required on most horses, but you are given the most hair for your money, knowing that you can trim down to a PERFECT fit. Remember, you can always trim, but you can’t add!

Great Tail Extension
I have a reiner with a thin tail. I was able to pretty easily attach. It hung well, stayed in place, and looked great! Having a small horse, I had to cut a pretty good amount off, but that worked fine.

Matched my horse's natural tail perfectly
I got this tail in the light sorrel color. When it arrived the color looked very dark and I was worried that it would not work for my horse at all but it actually matched perfectly. The tail's natural loop top makes it easy to apply and the small piece of fabric covering the loop ensures that you don't accidentally cut the tail when removing it. the 1lb weight was just right to add volume without looking over done. My only complaint is that MANY of the tail hairs are upside down, although this is only noticeable if you are up close to the tail.

Exactly what I wanted!
Bought this looking for "something more" for my Warmblood gelding's tail. 1/2lb size and in black is an exact match! Comes with protective fabric slip cover, and hair is in great shape. Showed in it for the 1st time this weekend, and everyone I told was shocked to hear he was wearing a fake! Very happy!

My wonderful horse is a pain and loves to itch out her tail despite every treatment available on the face of the earth. This fake tail makes ME feel so much better! Perfect for the hunter ring!
This tail is the perfect weight, length, and style for the hunter ring. Used mine for the first time this weekend to fill out my mare's rather thin, wimpy tail. It doesn't look like a fake tail... it just looks like a naturally beautiful tail! The two loops at the top make it a cinch to install - it's a 5 minute job. Couldn't be happier with the quality of the tail and the price!

Perfect hunter tail
This is a high quality tail extension for a great price. I ordered the 1lb. mixed tail, which is a mixture of dark and medium sorrel with some gray throughout, and it matched my chestnut horse's tail perfectly!

Great fake tail!
This is a great fake tail for the A-rated hunter/jumper competitor on a budget. The quality of the tail is much better than I anticipated. Someone at the barn even thought that it was the same brand as her $300 tail! The dark sorrel color matched my chestnut mare's tail perfectly. Thanks Smartpak, you've exceeded my expectations once again!

Pony vs Horse Length of Tail
The tail is high quality horse hair but I only had the option of purchasing 1/2 Lb or 1Lb, there weren't different lengths for pony vs horse. The tail I purchased is too short for my horse.

--Addition to previous May 4, 2012 review -- I have used this tail a two recent shows - Looks wonderful! Easy to attach and remove - Quick wash, and ready to go again. Match and look are great. Would never know not his own tail.

I'm a fan!
I have never been a fan of fake tails... Thought it was rare to see one that looked natural. I have been working with a friends 18.2 hand gelding with the worse tail I have ever seen! They would like me to do some local shows to get him out and about. I though it would be worth it to try a fake tail. Must say I was thrilled with this tail! Color match is PERFECT and very easy to attach. Can't wait to see how it looks when he is all shined up and braided for the show next week!

Natural and Beautiful
I agonized over ordering a fake tail for my follicly-challenged horse; I was terrified of being a victim of a tail that screams "FAKE" from a mile away (not such a great look in the Eq ring!). This tail delivers! It hangs naturally and beautifully, and it matches my horse's black tail perfectly. I received so many compliments at the first show I used it, I wish I could use it every day! My horse is 16.2 and the length was only a little bit long, I only had to trim about an inch off (I like me a LONG tail!). So if you have a very tall horse, it might not be long enough. But the best part? It's a fantastic price!
