Sizing
To measure for the best fit, find the circumference of the head. To begin, use a flexible tape measure and place it 1-1/2 cm above the eyebrows, skimming the tops of the ears, take it around the back of the head to the fullest part. Using the rider’s measurement and the chart below, find the corresponding helmet for their size range. Please note that the rider’s hair should be as worn when using the helmet.
The Lynx helmets include a dial-fit system, after fitting the rider for their helmet, adjust the dial so that the helmet fits securely, then adjust the chinstrap.

Unfortunate Sizing. Med too small, large too big!
I really wanted to like this helmet! It has great safety features and I have friends that love theirs. My head measures at 57.5-58 cm, at first I ordered a Medium as I was on the upper end, but still in the size range. Medium was WAY too small, I had marks on my forehead and started to get a headache from just a moment or two in the helmet. I returned for a Large which was much too big! Even snugged up it would flop around on my head. Super unfortunate, but so happy with SmartPak and their return policy.
I do have an oval shaped head, after more trial and error I found the one K defender M Oval shape to be the best fit for me.

The most comfortable helmet I've ever put on my he
I love it. It's very comfortable, it is not too bulky, it looks good, and it is extremely comfortable. So much so, that I ordered my son one also. I have had samshields (which are comfortable also), Charles Owen (didn't fit my head shape), IRH (it was fine but heavy), GPA (didn't fit my head). This one is by far my favorite.
Now, I've had it for a few months only, so I can't say it passes the test of time.

Excellent Helmet - Great Fit
I just got this helmet and it is very nice. The quality is superior and the technology for preventing head trauma is state the art. The helmet was on sale so the price was good. I have several cheaper helmets but they will not provide the protection that this Trauma Void helmet will. The helmet is definitely worth the money for the quality and if I should have a fall, then its worth every dollar. I would recommend this to anyone.

Love it!
I bought this after taking a tumble colt starting, and for me MIPS is a must have on any new helmet. This came in the mail quickly, and it fits great! It's a little heavier than my old helmet, but comfortable. I hope I never really need to test out its capabilities, but I have faith that it will protect my head should I need it!

Best fitting helmet I've ever had.
This is a comfortable helmet. It is a tad heavier and larger appearing on my head. But, as an ICU RN, I feel it is a small price to pay for increased brain protection. Hopefully, in the future, they will be lighter. (I am almost 60 years old, I feel the stress on my neck due to the weight.)

Great helmet
I bought this helmet after I suffered a TBI and brain bleed. I wanted helmet with the MIPS system to minimize brain trauma if I were to have another accident. I love the fit of this helmet and find it to be very comfortable and stylish. I preferred the fit of the Lynx to the EQ3.

Amazing & Affordable MIPS Helmet
I've had many a helmet in my 20 years of riding, and to this day am shocked that MIPS technology isn't more prominent in riding helmets. I've tried and liked many other brands of helmets, but after a few recent falls off of my new green bean mare warranting a new helmet combined with seeing how affordable the Trauma Void helmets were (especially on sale!) I decided it was a no-brainer to try it out! I chose the Lynx because it is a little more low-profile which I prefer as a predominantly western rider. I measured my head as directed and chose the Medium based on that. I typically wear a medium in other brands, too. My new Lynx fit perfectly out of the box and I appreciate the dial fit. I can see how others might be upset that the vents are not as open as other non-MIPS helmets, but if you read up on MIPS certification, the vents end up being partially covered in some areas to reduce puncture type accidents. I honestly feel like all helmets make you sweat at least a little in the heat/humidity so I have not noticed a huge difference between the Trauma Void and my most recent Troxel helmets. Trauma Void also has a replacement program that applies for the first three years of the helmet should you have an accident, which is a huge plus! Between the added safety of MIPS, the affordability of the helmet, and it's style, the Lynx knocks it out of the ballpark for me!

Easy to put on and adjust the straps.
I have worn this 3 times. Fit was perfect right out of the box. It is more substantial than my Tipperary. My only negative is that it is hot. But my head is worth enduring a sweatier head. I do think I am more protected with this helmet.

Love the adjustability
Fit is good especially since I wear hair differently each day. Looking forward to this adjustability in cooler temps so hopefully can wear headband to keep ears warm. Unfortunately I’m not noticing ventilation being any better than my OneK and that was something I was hoping to improve. Easy to keep clean with smooth matte finish. Happy to have MIPS safety!

Comfortable Next Level Helmet
I bought this helmet after reading more about MIPS and was very excited for the possibility of a safer helmet. I have a pretty big head and the large fits nicely, the adjustable dial in the back is great for putting it on and off at a looser fit then tightening it down so it's secure while riding. The helmet is definitely bigger in terms of the outside dome/overall thickness than my old helmet due to the space the MIPS technology takes up. It is easy to get used to and isn't noticeable when riding. The inner dome still fit the same as my old helmet and once I focused on that I was able to better access the fit. I've ridden in it a lot, in all types of weather, and haven't noticed it being hotter than any other helmet. I would recommend this helmet to anyone who is looking to upgrade for a MIPS helmet.

Good fit, materials don't stand the test of time
I was excited for this helmet, as I wanted a MIPS helmet for a very oval head. I've now owned it for a year and a half, as a one horse several times a week amateur rider. The MIPS rivets began to rust a while back and recently the pleather on the harness has begun to delaminate and peel off. I've never retired a helmet for cosmetic reasons. Ironically, this is the most expensive helmet I've purchased. I bought it through Trauma Void, so I have reached out to see if there is a resolution or if they have had an improvement in materials since the early run of these helmets. I love the protection of MIPS, but a helmet becoming cosmetically dingy so quickly is very disappointing.

Great Safety, Good Fit
My biggest factor for picking this helmet was the MIPS technology and being the most affordable MIPS option.
I tried the EQ3 model too, but the Lynx won out because of the adjustable fit.
Things I especially like include the ease of removing the liner for drying/washing and the high quality harness. The adjustable dial can be uncomfortable when getting the helmet on and off if you do it the wrong way. Once it's on and adjusted though it is comfortable and doesn't give me any issues for normal rides or multiple hour trail rides. Whether or not the fit is too deep or not depends entirely on your head shape, so I wouldn't be discouraged by other reviews until you try it on for yourself. Same for oval vs. round; I could be considered oval and the helmet fit me well. The return policy at SmartPak is so easy you have nothing to lose!
If you have issues with the tail of the chin strap being too long, my easy fix was to just fold it up and tuck it into the included cover. There's no difference in comfort or fit aside from not having the strap dangling.
(My previous helmets that have fit me well were the Charles Owen JR8 and Ovation Sync, so if these fit you, you'll probably have luck with the Lynx!)

Great Helmet
I bought this helmet because I really wanted the MIPS technology. The fit is great and I love that it’s adjustable with the turn of a dial. It’s lightweight and a low profile. I have a size 54 head and the medium fits well. My only complaint is that it’s a bit hot. I had a Tipperary helmet before this one and that was much more comfortable in summer temps. I can tell that this one will be perfect for fall/winter, but for summer I wish it had a few more vents. Would still definitely recommend!

Works great with sunglasses
I wear glasses plus Cocoon-style sunglasses when riding outdoors. I have not been able to wear them with my Charles Owens helmets, so I was looking for another option. Although I found that Uvex helmets worked, I wanted to have one with MIPS technology. The Lynx works! It’s comfortable and no hotter than any other helmet that I’ve tried. I wanted one that was adjustable so that I could vary the fit with winter earmuffs. This is a lower-profile helmet, so the adjustment wheel is almost under the rim and a bit small, so it’s harder to adjust. That would be my only criticism. Otherwise it’s great with all my glasses!

Dial dug into the back of my head
I am so disappointed. After sustaining several concussions, I bought and have been using the Trauma Void EQ helmet. It is a really nice product, but didn't quite fit my oval head and sits higher than I'd like. I was hoping the Lynx would solve the shape and the "height" problem for me. I am a size 57 and bought the medium Lynx. I had to dial it in so much to fit snugly that the dial started digging into the back of my head. I am going to try the Charles Owen next. I appreciate how SmartPak customer care is so gracious about returns and recommendations. I look forward to a successful fit from the Charles Owen.

Nice but didn't fit
Of course I measure 58 1/2 cm - I ordered the medium and large. The medium was too small - sat high on my head and the large was too big - even adjusted to the tightest I could fit a finger on each side of helmet. If you measure in the middle may work for you but on the extremes it just didnt work. I am going to try the sized EQ3 and see if it fits better.

Glad I upgraded my helmet to current standards. I did buy an XL even tho chart said to go for L, but I already have another brand's "western" helmet that is an L and I find I do not wear it because it is too small and gives me a headache. It seems fine. Looks a little like a motorcycle helmet. Like the flexible rim. I know it will take good care of me if I need it to! Love the dial, I've had Aegises before and that type of dial works well for my super long Alien-creature type of head.

Very Comfortable
I bought this after IRH had changed their styling. I LOVE it. It does sit lower on my head, but I love the dial system. I at first wasn't crazy about the idea of it, but if I wear my winter headband, I can just turn the dial and loosen it, or leave my hair down in a ponytail and tighten it. Definitely a great buy with the MIPS technology.

Sizing doesn’t work for me
Love the helmet and safety however the small was just a smidge too tight and I was advised by a company rep for trauma void that the medium might be too big. I will have to wait until quarantine is over to try this on in person at my local tack store.

Great Features, Poor Fit
On paper this helmet had everything that I want to keep my head protected. However, while the Small (51 - 53 cm) was the correct size, the helmet sat too high on my head, leaving about a hand's with exposure from the back of my skull to the helmet. I usually purchase the OneK brand, which comes in an oval shape. I think the Trauma Void helmet is too round for my skull. Sadly had to return it.
