Good fit and lasts a long time
This is my second purchase of a Total Saddle Fit Stretch Tec Shoulder Relief Dressage girth (what a mouthful!!). I guess that means I like them. My original one is still going strong after 3 years, but I thought it would be good to have a back-up. I was originally worried that the center connection point would give way, but it has held up well over time. I got this at my trainer's suggestion because my horse was being a little cold-backed at mounting. He's over that now. Still blows his belly up some, so I have to remember to check the girth before I ride off. He doesn't mind it at all! I like that it has different liners available so I can dress it up for shows or have easy cleaning for everyday.

Nice girth, but didn't work for my mare because...
I wanted so much to love this girth. The issue isn't their fault. My mare was a bit overweight when we moved to a new barn and began working with a new trainer. Because she was heavy and then lost weight, she has some loose skin. The girth pinched her where the pieces connect. It's a "no harm/no foul" situation. Also, I think for my girl it wouldn't have worked anyway. She's a short-backed Arabian. It put pressure on her where it was simply an uncomfortable place *for her*. For a different horse, it could be a game-changer! NOTE: I am unable to rate the durability of this item for obvious reasons. I have returned to SmartPak, and they have already processed my refund. Thank you, SmartPak! I am appreciative of your continued excellent customer service. :)

Excellent Fit!

My horse loves this girth!
I just purchased a new saddle and the saddle fitter recommended an anatomical girth. This Girth is beautifully made and I really like the extra give the elastic affords. It does not compromise the security of the saddle. My horse moves more freely and the 26 was a perfect fit .

Very nice girth
I decided to upgrade my Andalusian/ Arabians girth at my trainers suggestion. He had no objections, seems to like it. Then I got a new horse who is a little girthy and I tried several different girths I had and decided to get this girth in her size. She seems to really like it, the girthyness disappeared. It's well made, easy to clean, and the buckles and keepers are easy to use.

The only girth I will ever use
My mare was getting girth sores form a very high quality leather girth. I love the freedom this girth provides and I have notice a considerable freedom in her movement. I also ride western and will be getting the cinch as well.

removeable sheepskin cover
I bought the Total Saddle Fit Stretch Tec girth from Smart Pak but it DID NOT come with a sheepskin cover which needed to be purchased for $90 more SEPARATELY....By the time it arrived, I had found The Riding Warehouse in California sold the same girth WITH a removable sheepskin cover, for $70 LESS than having to buy both girth and cover from Smart Pak....I returned the Smart Pak.girth and purchased the Riding Warehouse girth. IT IS TERRIFIC for my VERY sensitive gray horse. NO MORE BUCKING!

An LVT Stamp of Approval!
As a Licensed Vet Tech I take the word of professionals very seriously. my vet and saddle fitter both recommended this girth for my sensitive, girthy mare who appeared to be getting a lot worse. this girth is amazing! it gives her room to feel like she can move, holds my saddle on place beautifully and is very well made and aesthetically pleasing! Cannot recommend this enough from an anatomically functional standpoint. highly recommend.

This girth is great, my ideal system
I love the anatomical stylings of this girth. The cover is really nice, and secure, stays in place, and really easy to get on and off. The one thing I wasn't expecting is how heavy and thick this thing is. It's a really nice girth and I'll definitely buy in the future... It's like... Thick compared to the standard fleece and classic hunter leather girths and professional choice smx ventech girths and ovation neoprene contoured girths I've used all my life.

Nice girth, easy to use
Bought this for my chubby Haflinger who was getting rubs with other girths. This one didn't rub him at all. I've had it not quite a year, and it has started to wear through in the elastic, which is the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars. I use it on three horses, sometimes multiple times a day, so possibly the sweat causes the elastic to deteriorate...? All in all though, a good girth, and I will probably buy it again.

Great Girth
I've used this girth for about a year. My horse seemed to be less girthy with it and I really like how it allows the saddle to not be pulled forward into the girth groove but sit back off the shoulder.

Works great, horses happier!
I’ve had one of these girth’s for over a year and just bought another in a larger size. I use this girth on 3-6 horses daily and it works well for all of them. Horses that are “girthy” seem more comfortable when tacking and tightening the girth. The elastic insert not only allows the rib cage to expand but it also works well on round and sternum prominent horses!
The reason I did not give 5 stars is because if you order this girth from smartpak it comes with ONLY the leather backing. The neoprene backing has to be ordered separately from another source. I find this frustrating because the description makes it seem as if both backings come with the girth.
