TS Trophy Hunter Mid-Rise
These are the most comfortable breeches I have ever worn. The fit is excellent, and they maintain their fit & appearance after multiple washes. Have worn numerous brands and these are "the ones". Worth every penny!

Great fit and style, but one annoying flaw.
I got these breeches in tan and blue, and kept the blue. The 26 was true to size (I am 5'6'', 118 pounds) perfect length and very flattering fit. The fabric has nice stretch but is not lightweight enough to make these your go--to breeches on the hottest summer days. The reason I did not keep both pairs and cannot rave about them is that the metal hook on the waist band is not covered by fabric on the inside of the waistband and frequently, depending on what position I am in from time to time (such as bending over), pokes me in the stomach. I looked at all my other pairs of riding pants--Smartpak, Ariat, Romfh -- and none of them left the metal exposed. At least it doesn't bother me when I'm riding or I would give them a big thumbs down.

Best fit and fabric
I’ve been riding in a pair of these for about 4 years. They really hold up well. I love the mid rise with my hourglass shape. Eventually after a few years of use one of the closures gave out and I replaced it for a few dollars. All of the seams are still going strong however and they come out of the wash looking great. Horse hair easily wipes off and doesn’t get stuck in the weave of the fabric. These are light enough to wear on all but the hottest of days in summer but thick enough to smooth out any unflattering lumps etc. They could only be made better if real leather patches were used but no one seems to be making those anymore.

Good Fit
Having tried many other brands of knee patch, mid rise breeches for schooling, I came back to Tailored Sportsman. They are more expensive than many brands, so I was using my tan, side zip, mid rise, TS breeches only for shows. I finally splurged for a colored, front zip pair. They fit my 63 year old body best because the mid rise comes up higher than most. Now I have three pair.

Wanted to love them
So I thought this would be the perfect breeches, lots of people rave about their breeches, but I didn't like the feel of the fabric especially for when you are really working like out on a course or out fox hunting when you are out for two hours plus, so I ended up returning them. The 26L, which has been my size for ages now fit more like a 24 or 22 the fabric was clammy on my skin and thought I am going to melt at a show or out on course, they just weren't as comfy as I thought they would be. So back to Pikeurs I suppose.

Absolutely love the fit and height of these! They are stretchy but don't feel cheap, they actually feel like they will last. I do wish that the Velcro ankle closure would stay flatter but you don't really feel it under your boots so it isn't a big deal.

Smartpak should have honored discount i had. I ordered different pair breeches with 15% discount. Had to teturn because wasnt correct fit. Wouldnt give discount. Very next day THESE breeches were on sale 20% off Not too please with smartpak. But love breecges

Bought another pair, about the buy a third
It's like these were MADE for me! I am 69" (5'9") and 44" of that is my legs. I MUST have mid-rise. But I was afraid they would be "euro cut" and flare out at the thigh, like most mid-rise jodhpurs do on me.
NOPE! They're fantastic! And the 30L was perfect for me, as I'm around 145lbs. Helps if most of your weight is in your hips, like me. If I had more to spend I'd buy every color!

Nothing I love more!
These hold the number one slot on my favorite breeches list. They are super flattering, I'm 5'5" and curvy and these fit perfectly. I have short legs and a long torso so I get the medium rise and regular length, the high rise were almost at my ribcage and that says something! I have the black, tan, and blue, the zipper on my black ones just gave out but they have had a very impressive run. The ONLY reason I give these four starts is because when you lean over the buttons pinch you and it really hurts! Hoping they will update them and make them like the tredsteps where they have a piece of fabric to cover them...

High rise, not mid rise
After trying on (1) the Trophy Hunter Low-Rise Side Zip, (2) the Low-Rise Trophy Hunter Front Zip, and (3) the Mid-Rise Front Zip, I have come to these conclusions (I'm 5'3", 120lbs, normally a size 4 in jeans) about the Tailored Sportsman breeches:
Low-Rise Side Zip: is a true low rise pant. The size zipper gets kind of wrinkly and you will see a bulge in the zipper after washing. But it's not a huge deal. Still a good quality pant. Hits below the waist at my hips.
Mid-Rise Front Zip: If you compare the rise of these to a pair of Levi's jeans that are described as mid rise, you will find these to be much higher of a rise. In my opinion, these should be described as High Rise. They hit me just below my ribcage at the highest point of my waist.
Low-Rise Front Zip (Item #16228): In my opinion, these are the "just right" version of all the Trophy Hunters. Although they are marked as Low Rise, they are in fact a bit higher of a rise than the Low-Rise Side-Zip breeches. These are perfect for me. My favorite breeches of all time.

I bought this in long so that it fits more like a high rise. (I'm 5'6 120 lbs- bought 26longs). Very happy. The buttons do pinch a little when you bend, so tucking in a shirt helps. Might try the side zip next. Love as much as my high rise full seat romphs; have yet to find a pair I like as much as them until now!

Best fit!
These are the only breeches I purchase. I'm a little wide in the hips and narrow in my waste- these breeches don't gap in the back while I'm riding. They always look good and I love the color selection available

Love brand, weird fit.
I usually wear the Children's 16 Trophy hunter as I am petite, but I wear a 26 in these. I like the rise but theyre very tight in the waist, not sure why, I would be interested to know if anyone else has had this issue. They fit perfectly everywhere else, except painful in the waist. Might be returning them, may just suffer through it. On the positive side, TS always makes very durable, amazing breeches so I'm hoping I can find these in a fit I like more.

fit is not for me
I own a lot of the low rise Trophy hunter breeches and one pair of mid rise side zip so I thought I would love the front zip. Wrong. The fit was terrible on me. The waist was cut in so small that it was painful to zip so they went back. I really do not understand why I can wear the side zip mid rise and not the front zip. Something is odd on the cut of these sad to say. Overall these are of course the same excellent quality that all Tailored Sportsman breeches have so if you are really slim in the upper hip then maybe they will fit fine.

I'll never wear any other breeches!
I have always wanted to buy a pair of Tailored Sportsman's but was put off by the price. I finally broke down and bought them and after 5 minutes of wearing them, I swore I will never buy another type of breeches again! They feel great and the fit is so flattering. The mid-rise is great if you like me have a bit of a muffin top. I got the size that I thought would be slightly tight because other reviewers said they run large and they fit perfectly. My only complaint is that the underside of the hooks will rub my abdomen but if you tuck in your shirt it doesn't bother me.

These pants are extremely comfortable & flattering (which is pretty hard to get with riding pants). Fit & length are perfect (I'm 5'4", 135# & bought 30R). They wash great. Haven't used them enough to comment on durability.

Beautiful, flattering and comfortable!
I love these breeches! The fit is perfect and the breeches are flattering, even if you are not perfect. I got them to wear at a show and felt like I looked great in the ring and while walking around the grounds in these. The material is very nice and not slick on my saddle and I felt secure, even when my silly young horse jumped around a little.
