Horses like these treats.
I had heard of these muffins and decided to try them with my horses. I break them in half. They both like them very much. One of my mini donkeys loves them, but the other doesn’t respond so happily and can manage only a quarter of one. They are used for special treats.

Perfect for delivering medication
I love these muffins & so does my very picky mare, Willow. I have to give her a quarter tablet every day & the German horse muffin is soft enough to cut a small hole & insert the tablet. She is always looking for this treat. I gave all the horses in the barn a bag for Christmas.

Completely infested
I love spoiling my horse with the German Horse Muffins, so when I saw SmartPak offered a 14lbs bucket, I couldn’t wait to order one! It arrived with lots of little white seed-looking things all over it. I assumed it was bits of crushed styrofoam from wherever it was stored, and didn’t think it was a problem because they wouldn’t be inside. I opened it and my jaw dropped. They were everywhere, and THEY WERE MOVING. THEY HAD LEGS. I’m absolutely livid. Can’t return it because it’s been opened and I put my horse’s name all over it. Will they bother my horse to eat? Probs not. I’m sure he’s eaten tons of bugs while grazing outside. But if I’m spending that much money on horse treats, I expect them to be delectable little mouthfuls of horsey happiness—not completely infested with bugs.

Perfect for hiding pills from picky eaters
I have a horse who would eat trash if I let him, and one who is suspicious of his own plain grain. The cookies are perfect for hiding pills and even enticing enough for Mr Picky to have a treat (and some meds too). They stay fresh for a long time. 1lb bag is perfect for 1 horse for a month and the 6 lb bag is perfect if you have multiple horses to lie to ;)

Horses love them
My quarter horse stopped eating his Medicine and we’ve been halving these and hiding the pill in them. The treats are very moist and mailable. He’s excited to eat a treat and we are excited he’s taking his medicine!

Very Palatable!
I use these horse muffins to give my horse her daily anti inflammatory pill. The muffins are soft and tasty. I do not insert the pill until the very last minute before giving it to my mare. She is a very finicky eater when it comes to pills and supplements. If put in too soon, something from the pill bleeds into the muffin and she won't eat it.

The Best Treats
I won a bag of these treats and if my horse could do cartwheels for one, he would. I immediately bought a bag and will make sure not to run out. Living in a very hot climate, I do store them at home and only take as many as I need to the barn.

My horse absolutely loves molasses muffins. I used to buy locally made muffins, but the owner went out of business due to retirement. I found a small bag of these at a local store, and they are very similar. My horse goes nuts for them! I buy the large bags when I get catalog coupons from SmartPak.

I cannot remember the name of the wonderful gentleman from the Smartpak customer care team who recommended these muffins to me, but from the bottom of my horse's heart - THANK YOU.
My guy eats anything and loves food, so I figured introducing a new treat for a special Christmas present wouldn't be a huge deal. I added them to my cart simply as a little thing to spoil my guy and thought that would be that.
Oh, boy was I wrong.
I was initially a little cautious because my horse is a senior and has lost most of his back teeth to the wear and tear of old age, so I wanted to make sure that he would be able to eat these safely, but since they're so soft and easy to break apart I've had no worries feeding them after breaking them up into smaller chunks. It makes them last longer too - once he got a taste the bag seemed to go so quickly after that!

My favorite treats
I use these treats to put any pills I need to give my horse or as a reward. The only complaint is that some horses will have a slight reaction the first time they eat them and get fat cheeks. It usually only happens the first time and never again. My picky treat eater loves them!

I can’t imagine there’s a horse in the world who wouldn’t gobble these up. My horse is obsessed with them. It’s become a nightly ritual that he gets one before I leave each night, and I think if I stopped I would have a revolt on my hands. These work well as pill pockets too- my best friend uses a small piece to conceal her mare’s Prascend tablets. Your horse will not regret you purchasing these, but you might because you’ll be forced to add them to your monthly bills for them!
