Wouldn't use another bucket!
Now I never have to worry about the horses bumping their eyes on the handle or whether or not they can get their noses to the bottom. I have also noticed that their tails/manes do not seem to get snagged where the handle hooks to the bucket. Great bucket, just a little difficult to carry when more than half full.

Good Design
this is a great bucket and my horses like it. Only problem is they break. I have had two for about 1 year and within that time both of them cracked and then broke apart. Darn!

GREAT BIG BUCKET
This is a super feed bucket. Plenty of room for the big head of a draft cross mare. The design is great. Not sure I would use it as a water bucket--the angled design would make it way too easy to slosh water out of, or dump all over your pristine (ha ha) barn shoes.

Great Design!
Have been using tires and tire bowls. Like this much better. SmartPak needs to carry the smaller size as well. SmartPak's size was great for my Belgian but over the top for my mustang and paint.

good idea - poor function
everything you read about this bucket is true, so great idea ... however, ergonomically it is VERY prone to tipping over since the front "design" idea is weighted awkwardly ... if you plan on moistened hay cubes, anything liquid, or even rinsing / carrying / setting down this bucket, consider the draw backs as it almost never sits squarely on its base without some careful positioning

They've built a "Better Bucket"!
I loved the idea of a bucket my horse could actually get his head into to get the grain at the bottom of the bucket without scarring up his beautiful head! So for such a reasonable price, I thought I'd give it a try ... and it does work! Now my guy can get down to the last pellet without getting the bucket stuck on his face and chaffing the hair off! It seems to be made of very solid materials - I've had it for a month, and it's been COLD here and the bucket is the same as when I first hung it up (outside in all weather) I poke holes in my feed buckets so water doesn't accumulate - and now it's the PERFECT feed bucket! I bought the bigger one (it's BIG) - but I'm glad I did even though I only feed a little grain because it's super roomy for his head - and he's happy to get all of his feed down to the last pellet!

Great idea, needs more R&D
Great bucket but cumbersome to wield. The large size is too big for a grain bucket unless you have a draft horse. I have a TWH with a big head (we don't say that in front of her) and she gets frustrated with the size of the fortflex bucket to the point where she slings it in the air and eats from the ground. I returned these and found the smaller size at my local feed store. Thee smaller ones are still not as sturdy as fortiflex, but make my mare much happier. The bucket design is a good one but the large size is superfluous as it is too big for a feed bucket and too tipsy as a water bucket unless it is hung from the stall at all times. Smartpak, would you consider carrying the smaller bucket?

broke early
Spacious, thick, sturdy looking bucket. But the bucket lip (that hangs onto the mounted wall bucket holder) broke within 1 day. My horse's last bucket was too small, and she put more force on it than she did on this big one, in order to lick all the grain out; still, it lasted for 3 years before cracking. Now this new bucket just hangs from the handle, and although it is still better than her old bucket, we have lost the steadiness and easy access angle that the bucket holder provided when the bucket lip was intact (on day 1). <sigh>

Big bucket
This bucket comes in two sizes. Smartpak only carries the very large one. I thought having such a large bucket in my horse's stall would be a problem (pooping in it), but so far - no problems. This bucket's smooth surface is very easy to clean and my horse doesn't spill any of his grain. I am happy with it <But maybe a wee bit smaller>.

THE BEST BUCKET
This bucket is amazing!!! My big 17'2 hand boy adores this bucket. He always had a hard time with ground pails, corner feeders, etc... This bucket is perfect for him and he cant get his feed and beet pulp without banging it against the wall or getting his head stuck.

great design; plastic too thin
I love the design of the bucket. However, the horses have managed to split the back in half as they bang it around eating, and I have only used them a few months. I recommend the manufacturer of the product reinforce the back piece with thicker plastic. If they would do that, then this is the only bucket I would have at the barn.

Great Bucket!
This bucket is great. My horses head fits in it so well. He is able to eat all his grain in comfort. The lip is great so he doesn't "dribble" his food out onto the floor anymore. It is rather large but works great for feeding. Easy to clean.

Great Bucket
I just love these buckets! My horses slam their faces in the buckets- these never never spill or tip. They are holding up to my messy eaters. They stay clean and after testing 2 I plan to get them for my entire herd.

Very Durable!!!!
2 of my 3 horses have a better bucket... My Hanoverian loves his and is much more comfortable eating now and no longer bangs his bucket around. What's interesting about this bucket is that my quarter horse (who has cribbed all his life) has gone through about 20+ water buckets in the past 3 or 4 years because he will crib on the edge of them with no mercy and they will crack and break so I got him a Better Bucket about 3 months ago to use as a water bucket and it looks brand new still even tho he still tries to crib on it he hasnt caused ANY damage to it. His stall stays dryer too because it is a little more difficult for him to crib on so he doesnt spill nearly as much water all over.

Better Bucket
I have not seen this type of a bucket anywhere else. It not only makes it easier for the forse to eat--it also makes it harder for the horse to waste feed. I started looking for a different feed bucket for that reason--too much spilled feed. This bucket has eliminated the problem and I think my horse appreciates the new ergonomic shape.

Great bucket!
After 10 years of my horse never being able to finish his food and destroying every bucket, I finally found the "Better bucket". It really is better. I never write reviews but was so impressed I decided too. We've had it 2 weeks and my horse has been able to finish every morsel of every meal!

Funny looking bucket
Although at first my horse was a little alarmed by the appearance of a funny looking bucket in his stall he quickly got over it. He looks very comfy eating his grain now and there is no more banging the bucket around, he eats quietly.

great bucket for food tossers
I purchased this after my horse started throwing his grain and supplements out of his bucket. His constant tossing had also caused the snaps to break and the corner feeder itself was getting in rough shape. With this bucket he really can't get the food out even if he tosses because the bucket swings with him and is also extra deep. Love that it is one hook too...easy on and off to clean!

Not durable
I love the design of this bucket, but it cracked down the middle in less than a week. Granted my horse is a vicious eater, but it should last longer than that. The handle also broke off. I love the size and idea of the bucket, but it needs to be a thicker plastic or rubber.

Love the design
I love the ergonomic design of this bucket. It fits the contour of my horse's head and funnels the grain into a small area at the bottom for easy access. The handle could be sturdier, it bent after a week. I put duct tape around the ends of the handle to avoid getting hair from the mane or tail caught. I prefer this over a round bucket.

Good idea, but needs improvement
I really like the idea of this bucket, it's very spacious and my large head TB is happy with the space. However the metal hooks that attach to the bucket are sharp and a horse is easily injured on. My horse snagged his fly mask and has two cuts on his face that match up perfectly to the metal attachment hooks. There really neesd to be rubber placed around the hooks, or wrap them in vet wrap as I did to cover the sharp edges, otherwise has held up durability wise.

The Better Buckets broke
I loved the three buckets that I purchased in April. Unfortunately one of them broke at the back where they attach to the bucket bracket after a couple of months and I thought it to be a fluke. Now all 3 of them are broken. If your horse bumps into these buckets or rubs on them they break quite easily. I witnessed the moment when one of them broke. The design is great and hopefully the holder of the patent will make some improvements with regard to the materials used. I notice on the tag that they are "made in China." With years of use I have never had a Fortiflex flat-backed bucket break but these didn't even make it through the summer.

great bucket for larger horses
This bucket allows my larger warmbloods to access their feed and water with ease compared to the standard buckets. We use them at home and on the road. No more nose or forhead rubs. Also easy to clean and stack. Great value.
